we'll continue to stay on top of it for you as the details come in to our newsroom. >> most definitely. i want to turn our attention to politics. some presidential contenders took their show on the road this past week, heading to the iowa state fair to talk with potential voters and some who will remain nameless landed their helicopter and then got on a golf cart to ride around. guess who did that? >> guess who? just back from the fair and here to talk about how things went there is moderator of "meet the press," chuck todd. >> lincoln chafee helicopter? i went with him this time. >> it wasn't him? >> no, no, it was -- >> you know who it was. >> trump. what's his name, trump. yeah. >> so not only did donald trump, you know, make his grand entrance, but you did get a one-on-one with him and you know a lot of his skeptics say he doesn't provide a lot of real substance at this point. did you find that he did this time? >> look, i'm going to let the viewers decide. he does debut the first policy paper, immigration, there are some things in there that are

her more so than she would have ever imagined it would? >> yes, and i think part of is how they handled it. they always treated it as a partisan attack from the house republicans. i think when you have the words fbi now taking over part of the investigation into the server, the voters i talked to in iowa, democrats that i talked to, that's gotten their attention. that has sunk in. and that's where you start seeing -- i came away and maybe it's august, i came away after my three days, wow, thinking she doesn't have this in the bag. if joe biden gets in, this could be interesting. >> we know you have who trump and who else? >> bernie sanders. he gets big crowds, to experience it, to talk to voters, but the most fascinating thing i found about sanders, i can't tell you how many voters would say good things about trump and how many trump supports would say nice things about sanders. they're both tapping into the same outsiderness, and even though neither one wants to be associated with the other,
10:18 am
voters are associating them together. >> interesting. >> wait until you hear sanders' response to that. >> thank you, chuck. a reminder, you can see "meet the press" every sunday right here on nbc4. right after "news4 today." well, a win for girls this morning, for the third straight year, girls passed virginia learning standards test at a higher rate than the boys did. we went through new data in 2015, 82% of the girls passed reading compared to 76% boys. and in writing it was worse. the gaps closed in math and science. 82 to 77 and a tie at 82 respectively there. good for you guys. some personal information collected by the national security agency was provided by at&t.
