still humid around the bay. we're down into the 60s, most of maryland and virginia and into the mountains only around 60s. and next weather and traffic on the 1s, your drive time forecast for this friday. how are the roads doing now, melissa? >> right now looking good. we have some construction that is cleared out of the way. i'd love to tell you about. 66 east at nutley, all lanes are now open. we had the two right lanes blocked earlier. 270 northbound and southbound, looking quite good. nice and clear, 66 overall, 95 in virginia, overall, again, looking good as well. taking a look here, top of the beltway, don't have any issues there. 95 and 66 is rolling along fine. if you plan to take metro at all, get ready for some waiting. four stations are closing. all but one lane is delayed. news4's zachary kiesch is joining us from the stadium

armory metro that just open and it will be shutting down in less than 24 hours from now, right zachary? >> reporter: yeah, you're right. starting here in southeast d.c., now the closures go into effect one minute after midnight tonight. if you're a regular metro rider take note. a lot of track work is happening. you'll want to take note at some of these closures. take a look right here. we're talking about the potomac avenue metro station, stadium armory, minnesota avenue and deanwood. green, blue, silver lines run about every 15 minutes and the red line will run about every 20 minutes. one other thing that you will see here on sunday, here at stadium armory, a full stadium drill. it is really designed to simulate smoke and fire in the tunnel. we are talking about some of the

things we saw at l'enfant plaza about a year ago. so you will see that here at stadium armory on sunday. don't be alarmed. it will be just a drill. reporting live, zachary kiesch. back to you guys in the stadium. >> thank you. today, a woman who was shot by a d.c. police officer after she refused to drop a knife is back in court. renita nettles will have a mental observation hearing. she started a fire in a house on clay terrace earlier this month. police and fire crews arrived, nettles walked towards the police officer holding a knife. she had used a mixture of pcp and synthetic drugs that very day. the hearing was supposed to happen yesterday, no word on why it was postponed. today, two women will be sentenced for a murder at a d.c. hotel. jamyra gallmon pled guilty to killing messerschmitt earlier

this year. according to investigators messerschmitt was looking for other men on craigslist. gallmon posed as a man and robbed and killed him. she could be sentenced to up to 25 years in prison. right now, nerves on high alert in los angeles. this after a big explosion downtown. the explosion happened underground from below a 19-story office building. these are pictures inside of that building. the explosion loud. felt for blocks. the blast sparked a fire and knocked the power out down the street. all the way down to the staples center where a shania twain concert was going on. several people were hurt. sounds like not badly. our sister station out there knbc said a generator may have exploded. family, friends and students will gather today to remember a montgomery county high school

principal. a memorial service will be held tonight for wootton high school principal michael doran. police found him dead in his apartment on wednesday and they believe the 64-year-old died of natural causes. the service will take place at wootton stadium between 6:00 and 9:00 tonight. grief counselors will be on hand to support students and their families. right now a man who has been in prison four times for threatening to kill american presidents is in a d.c. jail. it's a story you saw first on news4. archie monroe glass has admitted to threatening to kill them on four occasions. he was released from a federal prison in oklahoma, but court records said he violated his parole and made two trips to d.c. this year. the secret service stopped him outside the white house and that has a lot of people upset. eleanor holmes norton said somebody dropped the ball. >> i'm surprised because the secret service is known for catching or at least tracking

people who threaten the president. what happened to them this time? >> news4 learned glass stopped taking his psychiatric medication before his latest trip to d.c. a federal judge says presidential candidate hillary clinton violated government policy by storing her work e-mail on a private server. that comes as the state department has been ordered to coordinate more closely with the fbi on the inquiry into whether classified information was mishandled in this e-mail arrangement. polls show the inquiry is taking a toll on clinton's presidential campaign. clinton holds a wide, but narrowing lead in the democratic field against vermont senator bernie sanders. today, if you're looking for a new job, you might want to head to the norton job fair here in the district. it takes place at the washington convention center. you can get tips on updating your resume, job hunting and preparing for an interview. you can learn how to dress for success.

stray bullet near the entrance to the shaw metro station on saturday and police say matt shlonsky was an innocent bystander. now, the man wanted in the shooting says he's innocent. marcus king spoke to news4's mark segraves by phone earlier this week. >> so tell me, did you have any anything to do with that shaw murder? >> no, sir. >> why do they think that you're involved? >> because i was right there, i was right there by the barbershop. >> king told news4 that he plans to turn himself in. we are working to find out if that is indeed doing to happen. it seems that many of you in the shaw neighborhood are concerned with the growing violence and anc commissioner spoke with area neighbors about safety concerns at a meeting last night. 5:17 now. today a montgomery county man accused of trying to cook meth at a federal facility will be in court.

the fbi says christopher bartley triggered an explosion at the national institute of standards and technology last month. they said he was trying to cook meth when that happened. he was a leader of the police force at nist. he is facing a single charge of trying to manufacture methamphetamine. if convicted, he could spend as much as 20 years in prison. north korea says it's preparing for war after exchanging artillery fire with the south. this morning, the north says it placed its front line troops in a quasi state of war. south korea is warning the north from taking rash actions. on thursday, south korea fired several rounds of after -- artillery. we are hearing from construction workers caught in the middle of a big gas explosion at a school in new york city. it happened in the bronx. look at the school now, windows all blown out. the explosion so power.

news4's darcy spencer will join us in ten minutes. the ashley madison hack is hitting pretty close to home here in d.c. nbc's edward lawrence is join us now from capitol hill with the latest on this. good morning. >> reporter: good morning, aaron. yes, some of the i.p. addresses to the house and the senate. we are learning more about the consequences for some of the people who use the ashley madison website. hackers released on thursday more information about the folks who used the website. 13,000 e-mail addresses had military or government endings. the military is now investigating that. it's against military law to cheat on your spouse. so there could be some criminal charges in place for those if they're found service members cheating on their spouse. it affects departments of state, justice, treasury, energy and transportation. most of the e-mail addresses were attached to gmail and yahoo! accounts. we're talking about 28 million

men, 5 million women. some federal workers used their workstation at work and their office systems to access the website. now they found those i.p. addresses led to those government units. now, the city is -- with the most e-mail addresses is right here in washington, d.c. in the past the website has named washington, d.c. as the least faithful city in the entire united states. reporting live in washington, on capitol hill, edward lawrence. aaron, back to you. >> thank you. today a manassas man will be sentenced after pleading guilty to manslaughter for a deadly hit and run in prince george's county. jackie lewingrudge could face up to five years in prison. he hit and killed 21-year-old janelle olney in college park last year. police say he smelled of alcohol. we are learning that several of the victim's family members are expected to be in court today. this man now facing a fine, but not jail time after pleasing guilty to a fire -- pleading guilty to a fire in alexandria.

mourad taourirt was accused of setting fire to a crib mattress. he pled guilty for failing to report a fire. he and his wife told investigators that ghosts started the fire because it was haunted. the baby's mother is no longer facing charges. we have learned that the man accused of abducting and killing a uva student may have been fleeing to mexico. prosecutors say a map found in his sister's car in texas shows he had planned to head over the border. matthew is charged in the death of hannah graham. the judge ruled yesterday graham supporters can wear clothing with her photo on it in court. the judge also ruled matthew must be in handcuffs for pretrial hearings but can be in personal clothing for the jury in his next trial late july. 5:34. an invest into how a handgun

medication before the latest trip to d.c. police are staying tight lipped about what prompted a search at the home of gene simmons. however, they say that simmons is not a suspect, nor are his family members. the investigators are part of a task force investigating internet crimes against children. a rep for simmons say police met with him about a crime that may have happened at his house when he was on tour. caitlyn jenner may be facing charges in connection with the deadly car crash in los angeles. the sheriff's office is recommending a vehicular manslaughter charge. jenner rear-ended another car and pushed it into on coming traffic. the driver was killed. the sheriff's office said jenner was driving unsafely for the prevailing road conditions. if convicted jenner could spend a year in jail. you will see several gyrocopters over d.c.

norad is flying them between 9:00 and 11:00 in the morning that's according to wtop. if you take a look here, this is what a gyrocopter looks like. you're looking at video from when a man flew one over the capitol back in april. he was arrested and has rejected multiple plea deals in this case. a would-be robber being held without bond after he was knocked out, punched, while trying to rob a popular bar in d.c. police say that the robber walked into barcelona, he was wearing a ski mask, had a knife and demanded cash. the bartender told news4 what happened after this. >> he came in in a menacing manner, he announced his intentions as soon as he got to the bar. i just clocked him in the jaw. >> the element of surprise is a powerful thing. cohen had been involved with mixed martial arts since he was 16. surprise. he an another bartender got the knife away from the man and held him until the police got there. >> that story makes me smile.
