in my forecast. >> thanks. the montgomery county police just sent us an update on the deadly hit-and-run crash in clarksburg. they're still not saying whether or not the driver intentionally ran down the victim who died but saying it didn't have to happen. jackie with the latest. >> reporter: chris, this was horrific. police tonight tell us they are now investigating the possibility that the victim, identified to us by his family as william mcdaniels, 21, and the driver of the car that hit him, may have known each other. news4 received a statement tonight that says the mcdaniel family requests privacy as they understand the tragic events that occurred this afternoon. their son william was taken from them in a senseless act of rage that need not have happened. neighbors said they saw what appeared to be a heated argument between two men, one on foot walking a german shepherd and

the other in a car around sweet spire around 2:30 p.m. >> i saw two men and one man arguing and cursing at the other man very loud. >> reporter: one woman who did not want to appear on camera tells us what the eyewitness said the driver did after the argument. >> one man was walking a dog, a german shepherd and said the gentleman got in his car on little seneca and came back around and just ran the guy over. >> reporter: these are images of the dog, roxy, that survived the impact that killed mcdaniel. detectives checked damage to the car about three miles away. >> police tell us this is still a very active investigation at this point. live in clarksburg, jackie bensen, news4. >> thanks.

the salmonella at fig & olive is bigger than it seems and they're spark agnew investigation. tonight, the l.a. department is looking at 20 cases in west hollywood and as many as 150 people in d.c. got sick after eating at the restaurant in city center. not clear if there are any cases in new york but an attorney who represents two people who got sick in d.c. says this is unusual. >> i've never seen an outbreak where you have one restaurant chain having illnesses, you know, a continent apart. >> fig & olive released a statement saying we are confident we have adequately addressed the situation. we remain committed to delivering the highest quality of food and excellence and preparation and service that have become the hallmark of the fig & olive brand. one of the country's most iconic sports arenas. we rarely have ever seen it like

anywhere near each other. that's what parents will argue tomorrow morning in mcclain when they protest a new gun store next to an elementary school. nova firearms is moving from elm street to old cham bridge road, right next to franklin sherman elementary school. a couple months ago arlington residents stopped the gun store from expanding into the cher cherridale neighborhood. they're asking people to visit the store to prove it belongs in that community and said most of its customers are police officers and parents will protest tomorrow morning at 11:00. maryland football on the road in west virginia this weekend. the group that will consider renaming the terps stadiums is about to have its first meeting. they will have the first meeting on monday to consider changing the name of byrd stadium. it was named after curly byrd some call a racist and segregati segregationist. a final report to the university president is due in december.

this was one of the most moving scenes of the day. the pope silently placed a single white rose at the place where the twin towers fell and spoke with family members and took part in an intersta statfa prayer service at the 9/11 museum and says this is the site of generosity and service. a woman facing life without her husband. that struggle got even tougher last week when a fire gutted her home during her husband's funeral. only on news4 tonight, darcy spencer went back to that house where the family is still trying to salvage whatever they can.

committed to protecting our customers' credit card information. we take any issue very seriously and we are looking into this matter. sunday night, you will have a chance to see a super moon and a lunar eclipse. it is a rare combination that hasn't been seen since the 1980s and it's not going to happen again for nearly 20 years. take a look. a lunar eclipse happens when the moon is completely engulfed by the earth's shadow. only light refracted around this planet will fall on the moon's surface and give it a red glow. the moon will be at its closest approach to earth making it appear 14% larger. even better, look at that. all of this. it will last more than an hour and you will be able to see it practically anywhere in north or south america. we're in the shaded area and should have a good view of the eclipse starting at 9:00 as long as the weather holds out on sunday. doug, can you make it happen?

>> i got to tell you, man, i am so bumm emed out about this. you're right, the moon moves around the earth and all we need is clear skies. as we move through the weekend we're expecting clouds and shower activity. i have been so excited about this super moon eclipse and trying to go to south carolina where there would be a total eclipse there. if we do happen to see it, it won't be total here but a percentage of that but better to 60% in our area. down south total lunar eclipse, amazing, but most of the east coast is socked with these clouds where we are today. very upsetting. 67 degrees and winds at 8 miles an hour. temperatures on the cool side. not bad, 61 in fredericks and 67 in d.c. here's the radar. notice this. where's the line? yesterday, we told you

fredericksburg, len yaronardleo culpeper and north of this you didn't see rain at all. to the south, still raining in fredericksburg and leonardtown. it's not moving north, staying right there and continues to form the rain across the region. we will see this fluctuate a little bit but won't move back towards the north and may move towards the south as the area of low pressure moves south. that line extends from the atlantic all the way through our region, all the way back with the strong area of high pressure we talked about for weeks and town town -- down to the south. what's this low mean for us? a lot of cloud cover the next couple of days and you want to keep the umbrella handy. tomorrow afternoon 1:00, no rain on the radar on this computer model. we are sitting in the clouds and
