two hospital security officers on leave after patient died. this morning we may be able to tell you more about why. officials with med stastar, the going to address it. they say a patient and two security officers got into a fight last tuesday. the man died two days later. a statement from the hospital says in part, quote, we want to ensure our community we're taking this situation very seriously and we're working to help gather the information they need. in roseburg as they recover from last week's mass shooting, the college will reopen. christopher harper mercer killed nine. he made them identify themselves by their religion and then he

eun. thankfully a break from the rain. that's good news. despite the rain easing up at this point, the problems are not. the water, the floodwaters across the carolinas continuing to climb right now and that's going to be the case right here. tragic news. we know overnight at least five people have died as a result of the storms here. there are concerns from officials that that number could climb. hundreds have been pushed from their homes to higher ground. everything inside ripped away by the waters. that could go up as well. we're along the conga reriver right now. it's above level right now. so much water, eun, that even the gauges have been ripped away. that's the latest, eun. back to you. >> thank you, jeju the storm

the storm dumped rain on the islands. it will continue to weaken over the next two days as it tracks into the atlantic ocean. meantime the search continues for any survivors on the cargo ship that went missing during the hurricane. the started taking on water. the coast guard has located thousands of pieces of debris in the search yesterday. it's unclear if the debris belongs to the ship. the families of the 33 members on board are hoping their loved ones will be found alive. prince george's county police hope footage from a camera can help them solve a mystery. the woman in this car died saturday. officers will keep working today will continue working to find out if she died from the crash or something else. residents say they heard the gunshot before the accident.

county clerk kim davis is under fire. he's been accused of fabricating photos and facts. they have labeled the council an anti-gay hate group saying it spreads false information. she's riding high this woman. she's the first woman to be usa's woman athlete of the year three times in a row. ledecky now ties ryan lockie and bareman as three-time winners. the summer games in rio is just three months away. >> she's one of my favorites. a great person. now at 4:41, let's get over to tom kierein. kids can leave home the umbrella when they pack for school, right, tom? >> yes, but they'll need a jacket as it's quite chilly. in the metro area, it's going to be in the low 50s.

birth control under the affordable care act, just one of the big issues the supreme court will take up as it starts a new term this morning. the justices are also going to consider arguments on affirmative action. arguably the biggest case will be abortion. justices will hear arguments about a texas law that requires clinics to meet new building quotes. >> the ones they were operating in had good common sense, improvements for health care. >> the purpose of this bill is designed to shut down clinics so that there's less abortions taking place in texas. >> since that law has passed, the number of clinics providing abortions in texas has fallen from 42 to 19. if it's upheld, that number could drop to ten. counting on volunteers won't be enough to meet budget constraints at the prince george's fire department. it says it will keep overtime dow down.

brady says as of today there will be ten stations across the county that will depend on volunteers alone. for the first time in seven years the prince george's housing will allow applications. they must fill them out online that. ly not accept them in person. 450 vouchers are up for grabs. county officials expect as many as 25,000 applicants. >> today we're going to get an update on safety and policy in prince george's county suits. police will find out if they can wear body cameras inside the schools. there eats be a meeting this afternoon for an update on the school's agreement with police. the park will include portions of the brandy station and cedar mountain battlefields. they could pick up a couple of more inches of rain on top of what's already falling. the counties around the bay here in green, abnormal high tides later today as well as in washington. the washington channel, haynes point may be under water during times of high tide later today which will be around 3:00 in the afternoon. and then joaquin itself has now passed bermuda as a category 1 hurricane and has winds of 85 miles an hour, continuing its track well off the seaboard. i don't have to worry as it continues to pull off. it then pulls away and weakens quite a bit. our sky cover today. welcome sunshine breaking up that bright or abob in the sky. that will be breaking up. by late afternoon, it willmostly clear, then mostly clear this

evening. welcome, welcome. a few breaks in the clouds. temperatures by late afternoon should be making it up to around 70 degrees with light breezes along with that increasing sunshine. temperatures right now rather chilly. it's just in the 40s west and north of the metro area right around washington. we're in the low to mid-50s as well as right around the bay. then a gorgeous day into the mid 70s and then on wednesday it may actually be near 80 degrees. bright sunshine. 70s for highs on thursday. the next chance for rain looks to be late on friday. sunshine with highs near 70 degrees. now let's check on the roads this morning. melissa has a slowdown. what's going on? >> yeah. had a couple of slowdowns around town. looking pretty good on 270 as we head southbound here from fredericksburg to the beltway and that's not working, i don't know why. 95 at scaggsville road, maryland, there, 216, don't have any problems here. a big look at the beltway

marine corporal william farrell died tuesday night. he was on the side of route 15 in frederick, maryland, when a truck ran into him. the 21-year-old was helping another driver who had car trouble. he was wearing a refleckive vest and his emergency lights were flashing. they say the driver stopped for a couple of minutes and then took off. we're working to find out whether some people have their heat back on in bethesda this morning. a woman drove her car into a gas meter. the woman drove off after hitting the gas meter. it may not be long before you can go see a show at the old town theater in alexandria. the city has a new deal to reopen the venue as a spot for entertainment. the building is 100 years old. it closed its doors in 2014 after a cup of years in massive restoration project and a change in ownership.
