no construction right now. we are following a developing story out of ft. meade. anne arundel county police are searching for someone who entered without permission. chopper 4 was at the scene right after the suspect crashed the car into a front gate. police say they were chasing a suspect in a stolen car when the driver crashed. this is the same place where the drive ore of a stolen suvs with was shot and killed earlier this year after trying to get onto that base. a man is dead after a shooting a few hundred feet away from an elementary school. police say someone shot the man aund 8:00 lath night on elkwood lane in capitol heights. detectives don't have a motive or suspect. they say whoever shot that man fired more than once. the fbi helping d.c. fight crime. fbi agents will specifically tar

flew a gyrocopter into restricted airspace will be sentenced. hughes says that flight was his protest against campaign finance laws. he faces up to 9 1/2 years in prison. we've got an update now to that awful flooding in south carolina. two people who disappears in the rising waters have died. they drove their pickup around a barricade on a closed road. we first told you when they went missing. breaking news at this time yesterday. three people in the truck did get to safety, but divers found the bodies of those two missing people still in the truck. this means 19 people have now died in the flooding in both carolinas. senator lindsey graham says the cleanup could cost a billion dollar and, quote, break the bank of federal emergency funds.

"news4's" megan mcgrath has more. megan? >> reporter: if you take a look behind me, you see the investigators on the scene. they've been here since about midnight. you can see on the right-hand side there's a group of gtsers there on the sidewalk area and a little further down where the bright light is, they've been paying attention to that spot as well which appears to be a cafe to us. it was about 11:45 when police got word of a shooting. when they arrived they found a man suffering gunshot wounds. i talked to a person living in the area. he didn't want to go on cam rarks but he said he heard several gunshots, around five to

seven last night. when the police got here, they found the victim, took him to the hospital where he was later pronounced dead. no word of any arrests. no word on the identity of the person killed here. this is the second murder in alexandria this year. back to you. the company's ceo will be the main witness. two representatives from the environmental protection agency will be there as well. volkswagen faces major fallout after researchers discovered some of its cars had the technology which allowed them to evade the missions test. they'll explore what the company's deception means for consumers. a construction problem forced drivers to sit and wait for hours and wait and wait and way. late night drivers were stuck in
