man. >> defense taking over metro safety. 35,000 people getting ready to run in tomorrow's army 10 miler. each of the runners has a personal reason for racing. at the national mall with one of those unique stories. >> reporter: i talked to one of the runners in her home. she is running for her father. tomorrow marks the end of a long journey for her. >> this is the shirt i will run in tomorrow. run to win. >> reporter: it's the night before the army 10 miler. she is ready for the big race. >> this will be my 52nd race.

a valley for peace disintegrated into chaos after twin explosions today. many of the wounded were carried away in the same peace banners that is they brought to the rally. they were protesting the conflict between kurdish forces and rebel groups. a former republican investigator looking into the benghazi bombing says he was fired. he claims that he was let go after he tried to do a comprehensive look into the deadly attacks. the house benghazi committee has denied the allegations.

the federal transit administration has the power to perform unannounced inspections on the rail system. metro has had its fair share of issues in recent months. the board of trade says it's all about trust. >> you watching people move to bikes or walk instead of metro. metro was designed to move people to and from work. without that confidence, more people will be leaving metro. we want to thank be everybody who joined us for the out of darkness walk in the mall. more than 2,000 people walked today.
