man. >> defense taking over metro safety. 35,000 people getting ready to run in tomorrow's army 10 miler. each of the runners has a personal reason for racing. at the national mall with one of those unique stories. >> reporter: i talked to one of the runners in her home. she is running for her father. tomorrow marks the end of a long journey for her. >> this is the shirt i will run in tomorrow. run to win. >> reporter: it's the night before the army 10 miler. she is ready for the big race. >> this will be my 52nd race.

i am ready. >> reporter: one race each weekend since last year's ten-miler. >> i can see the assistule representation of what i have accomplished. >> reporter: she is doing it to honor or father. >> i saw him struggle to get out of a chair, struggle to be the athlete that i knew him as. i ran because he can't. >> reporter: she sees the race as a way to give back. >> hard work and dedication and character developed at a young age has produced something u one woman among more than 30,000
