their best to make it down into the metro this afternoon. right now temperatures are in the mid-40s across much of the area, and as you plan out your afternoon, chilly, breezy, and cool. temperatures will-inch their way only into the mid-50s. don't plan on much of a warmup. temperatures will quickly fall out of the 40s and into the 30s before 11:00. so a cold night tonight and a cold start tomorrow morning. in fact, tomorrow's temperatures will be even lower today and if you want to see a few snowflakes, you won't have to drive far. no accumulating snow but an occasional conservational forecast coming up. happening today, transgender murder victim zella ziona is being remembered with a candlelight vigil. she was found thursday in an alley. just wednesday police made an

arrest in that case. there's a vigil being held in germantown. friends of ziona are invited to attend. this as we american more about a fight that lead up to zella ziona's murder. jackie bensen has the update jr. the police were called at 5:17 pchl thursday for a report of three to five people fighting with sticks. one had a knife. the documents say detectives believe zella ziona was hit with a stick at that time. sources tell "news4" that the man charged with her murder, were also involved with it. at this time it's not clear how officers resolved that incident but 20 minutes later, 5:40 p.m. police were called to the area again. this time zella ziona was shot.

a witness said a man was standing over her firing shots into her. >> i watched him standing ore the person firing more shots. detectives believe the victim may have been lured to the valley after the initial fight. that's where the man ricoh leblond jumped from behind dumpster and began shooting. witnesses say he had a monster mask over the lower part of his mask. news of the arrest was bittersweet. >> it won't bring her back. it won't bring her back. brand-new photos into our news room of a fire in fairfax county overnight. look at the damage to this house in mt. vernon. the walls are cracked. we're told one person was hurt. right now we're working to learn out what started that fire. >> we're woking to learn the name of the man killed while crossing the street in bladensburg. police are calling it a
