police now saying a 21-year-old attacked people with a knife and a gun before he was shot dead. the latest violence as israel heightens security this morning, deploying thousands of police in response to a string of stabbings by palestinians. coming up, secretary of state john kerry will meet with leaders separately this week. that's coming up later. new at 4:30. you saw the cell phone video of an officer and giovanti young first on "news4," but this dash cam individual you you see in a second show as what came before that. police say young assaulted two officers during a traffic stop in laurel on saturday. when he complained of an injury, they took young to the hospital. then on their way to central booking young managed to take off his handcuffs and roll out of the police car. >> attempts to kick, attempts to

strike, spits at the officer several times and then successfully bites the officer at least once. >> reporter: now, the officer hit young with a baton and eventually tased him. both young and the officer went to the hospital. he's now charged with assaults three police officers. an inmate dies at the fairfax county jail. officials say they found paul guida unresponsive on friday. they took him to the hospital where he was pronounsd dead. a man will face two murder charges. we'll get you an update from court. this is part of a love triangle proved deadly. this man killed two at the request of the man's wife's 13-year-old daughter. she and he were dating. he said they were romantically involved as well.

at some point officers say ann and her daughter plotted to have someone kill anthony and riggs. police say someone asked gabriel and he carried it out october 6th. ricoh leblond is charged with first-degree murder in the death of zella ziona. friends remembered ziona with a candlelight vigil saturday night. the trial of charles severance will continue. he's charged with three killings. all three were shot in their homes in broad daylight. >> the "washington post" reports overall crime is down. as of this morning police worked out at least 57 homicide investigations. in all, 54. outside of homicides, the "post" reports shootings is the only other crime category that's up this year. violent crime is down 10%. crime dropped 17% overall. some good news this morning for a boxer who suffered brain injury this weekend in fairfax county. this is video from nbc sports. a spanish lang media outlet said he is breathing on his own. saturday night's fight showed him being knocked down twice. he later passed out in the locker room. the fighter is being treated in a local fairfax hospital. the smithsonian will hold an installation ceremony to welcome in the organization's 13th

there are obvious signs. the chimes are running about six hours late. it's not clear who will pay for those repairs. >> can you imagine who's tasked with that big job? all right. victims and survivors of the boston bombings are being remembered with a piece. it's in the block near the home of one of those killed. they gathered sunday to break ground on this project. the $1.2 million project was paid for with state, federal, and private funds. it is set to be completed next year. today begins national school bus safety week. it's a good time to remind everybody to drive safely around the big yellow school buses. experts say the buss are still the safest way to get your child to and from school. with that being said there's a stronger push to get longer stop arms and bus cameras.
