fredericksbu fredericksburg. most of it, though, will be continuing to exit southern maryland over the next half hour or so. drying out in the metro area, north and west, there are a few breaks in the clouds. a little sunshine trying to break out now. temperatures there are already near 60 in the shenandoah valley and out in the mountains. closer to washington, we're in the mid-50s. a warmer pattern commences the coming week coming up in just a few minutes. >> thank you, tom. breaking news. one person is ked after a shooting at winston-salem state university. another person has been hurt. both are believed to be stujts. police are now searching for a suspect. his name is jared moore. the university lockdown has been lifted. firefighters rushed to save a person from a burning home late last night and they got there just in time.

but on their wam to the scene, the fire truck slammed into a car. derrick ward has the live record. >> reporter: we're just on the other side of the an a toft ya river. take a look. this is the aftermath of that fire. that fire broke out around 11:00. the firefighters got here. they found one person who had been injured. not life-threatening injuries. another person had to be rescued and some people are indeed displaced from this building, but this isn't all that happened associated with this fire. take a look at the intersection of mlk and malcolm x. about two miles from here, maybe three miles from here, a fire truck responding to the scene collided with a car. now, eight people were injured. four firefighters who had to be taken. we don't have details on the conditions of the occupants of the car or how indeed that crash did happen, but we do know that

both the crash and the cause of this fire are under investigation. we're live in southwest. derrick ward, "news4," back to you. police in prince george's county are trying to find a killer. >> police say two were attacked in langley park. we're working right now to find out the victims' names and get an update on the surviving man's condition. police have not said if they vl any suspects. police are working to find out who shot and killed a 20-year-old college student. bowes's death was the third deadly shooting yesterday morning. police say the shootings may have been the result of a fight that ended in gunfire. investigators aren't releasing any details on the suspect or a motive. terrible story out of new york city. a halloween tragedy. it happened in new york. a car plows through

trick-or-treaters in the bronx killing three people, among them a 10-year-old and two adults. the 52-year-old driver rammed into another car before crossing into the opposite lane, hitting the small group of trick-or-treaters on the sidewalk. then the car went airborne into the yard of a nearby home. the driver amazingly was not seriously in injured. still no word on what caused that crash. one of the teenagers seriously burned in a chemistry class fire at the high school will be undergoing surgery this week. they told our derrick ward that sonya is doing well but has serious burns on her arm. one other student is still recovering. a fire broke out during a chemistry demonstration that happened on friday morning. the teacher conducting that experiment was treated at the school.

you can catch an uber home from the afrmt but they can operate legally. drivers will wait in a designated area on the airport's property while waiting for your ride request to come in. that's going to make it easier to get a ride, but the new $4 airport charge will make that trip more costly. russia, their aviation officials now saying that a passenger plane broke apart in the air before crashing in egypt yesterday. all 224 people onboard died. they have sent more than 100 emergency workers to the crash site to search for bodies and examine the debreechlt they say there's no prove isis was responsible. they reported trouble several times. >> more people recovering after an explosion in a nightclub. we're learning new details and what may have prevented people from escaping those flames. talk about a bad costume. we're going to tell you about we're going to tell you about one costume a

this morning we're getting a look at a performance at a romanian nightclub. after a fire broke out, 500 people stampeded for the only available exit. fire officials say fireworks were used and they were pyrotechnics. romania's government has declared a three-day national mourning period. some are still in the hospital. they've located a ship lost at sea during hurricane joaquin. using sonar they've located a ship about 15,000 feet around el farrow's last known designation. the ship still has to be

on monday. morning lows, 50s. afternoon highs, mid-60s. we're going to have a tale of two different skies. it may be sunny, but right in washington points south, clouds and south of the metro area could be quite a bit of rain. but in the medial metro area, it may be a few light showers off and on with the highs in the mid-60s. here comes the mild air tuesday and wednesday. highs reaching low to mid-70s. the average time this time of year is the low 60s. stays mild. a slight chance of a sprinkle thursday. a chance of a shower friday night. before then, friday afternoon. mid-70s. on saturday, it looks terrific. saturday afternoon, mid-60s. a bit cooler for the weekend but next weekend is looking dry with some sunshine. >> thanks. >> i'm looking closely. >> nice, nice. the toys for tots program almost didn't happen in montgomery county. >> that's right.

stepping in, saving christmas for needy kids. darcy spencer has our story. >> reporter: these are the toys for tots left over from last year, packed into a small storage area in gaithersburg. the head of the program said he needed to find a new space, but for months couldn't find one. >> i've been looking since 1, july, and just was coming up against a brick wall. >> reporter: so paul guenther made a public plea. metropolitan moving & storage stepped in, offering this. a huge warehouse to store all the toys. >> imagining that he collects 70,000 toys a year and that could have possibly not happened and not got on the the families that were depending on it. >> reporter: today is moving day, loading all the boxes into the moving truck and taking them to the warehouse just in time for this holiday season.
