maryland. darcy spencer joins us from campus with what the police are saying about the investigation. darcy. >> reporter: the university of maryland police do not believe these incidents are connected and whoever is doing it may think it's a prank but they're taking it very seriously tonight. in the last month, there have been three incidents of voyeurism on college park and the first october 13th in the hall and a woman in a shower when she noticed a man with a cell phone vding her and she yelled and he left and a woman in a shower noticed a man pe peeping at her and she shrieked and he ran out saying i'm sorry. and then a male student in dorchester hall was in this bathroom and saw someone vid videoing him with an iphone 6 and he yelled and the person

left. they are asking the students to increase their awareness. >> oftentimes the bathroom doors are open and they can't hear someone entering the facility itself and that way if you close the door, when someone is entering you hear someone coming in. >> reporter: this is not only an invasion of privacy. it is a crime. if any is caught doing this, they could face a peeping tom charge that carries up to 30 days in jail. back to you. >> thank you very much. new at 11:00, three teena r teenagers are under arrest for what investigators are calling the gang related murder of a man in montgomery village. montgomery county police say they shot roberto cruz in the woods sunday night. a passerby spotted the victim's body monday afternoon. investigators say the suspects are associated with a gang. they all face murder charges. police are trying to figure out

a howard university student will have place to live the rest of this semester. the university evicted the 18-year-old after he let some fellow students in through an emergency door to celebrate a roommate's birthday. today, we learned a howard grad student had an apartment up for rent and is allowing him to stay in the apartment the rest of the semester rent-free. this story has been lighting up the washington nbc facebook page. we want to know what you think so you can weigh in on that one. next, a prince george's county school found a sweet way to say thank you to service members overseas. they collected 80 pounds of candy and put it in a big box with letters for the troop. all ready to go. but one big problem, they need 2$200 to ship the candy.

a tragedy playing out in central louisiana tonight after a little boy was shot and killed by police officers, the whole incident caught on camera. investigators are not releasing the video to the public. it's still unclear why the two officers pursued the car with the boy inside. investigators say the child was shot five times, the father critically injured. the officer's body camera captured the shooting and the video is shocking and what ultimately led to the officer's release. the head of the louisiana state police said the little boy did not deserve to die like that. >> let me tell you this, it is the most disturbing thing i've seen. i will leave it at that. >> the officers are charged with second degree murder and atte t attempted murder. here's a reason to check the apps on your kids' phone this

week. police of discovered sexting rings in ohio, tennessee and colorado. in one school alone, at least 100 students were involved. police say they sent sexually explicit pictures of themselves and swapped the nude images like trading cards. the pictures were hidden in plain sight. the students used ghost apps to conceal them. a memorial will be held for two teens killed this past weekend. they died in a car accident on the way to spotsylvania hospital. the memorial will be in fredericksburg. a go fund me page has been set up for the boys. we have a link to the page. go to the washington nbc act and search "brothers." police want everybody to take a good look at this picture. they need help finding this woman not seen since friday morning. brook ashley jenkins seen in

upper marlboro. prince george's's police want you to give them a call if you have any information where she might be. new tonight, a 15 minute twip between d.c. and baltimore is one step closer to reality. the federal government just awarded $28 million to a company that wants to build a high speed rail line between the two ci cities. the money will be used for pl planning and engineering analysis and the money would use rail line engineering technology, governor hogan became a supporter after riding a similar train in japan. at first glance, it looks like any normal day at the gym, a hard day. there was a lot more purpose to these workouts at cross, fit and lorton today. all these people taking part in the annual working wound games. some lost limes serving our country and some had accidents or were born with a disability. they say the challenge of competing motivates them
