>> rick: coming up on nbc sn is nascar post race show. krista, kyle, d.j. two hours of coverage from what was an incredible finish at texas motor speedway between the two champions. one of them really needed the win here. standing by with kelli. >> kelli: after leading 312 laps of this race, brad, what more could you have done at the end of it? >> the 48 car had made the turn in the run and i couldn't keep the turn. i kept pushing real bad. he kept turning and turning. i did everything i wanted. he was way faster that last run. their team did a hell of a job. my team did a hell of a job. led 300 some laps. it wasn't our day for them to favor us.

year he has run for the championship. >> steve: i don't know what keselowski could have done different. jimmie johnson was so much faster at that point in the race. >> jeff: i thought keselowski did all he could. he's trying to take his line away. he did everything he could. he had -- he held a faster car off. >> steve: there's been conversations about how guys need to race 50e67 other, aggressively. that right there was the perfect thing. two super stars in nascar doing everything within their power trying to win. in the end, i feel the better car in the last run of the race was the 48. that's why he's in victory lane. i agree, brad did all he could to hold that position. >> rick: this again shows the difference between sports. in nascar everyone continues to go even in the playoffs. everyone continues to dpeet. a situation where brad keselowski could have pup muched his ticket into the championship four at the end of the season

breaking news. we sent you a breaking news alert about a deadly and fiery crash in prince george's county. fire rescue tells us at least 15 people are involved. that crash ended in a fireball on chillemroad. we are told at least two people are dead and there are multiple injuries at this hour. news 4's derrick ward just arrived on the scene and he's

live with what we know. d? >> reporter: good afternoon. this is described as one of the most horrific crashes folks have seen in quite a while. there is a car there in the foreground. that is where it started. that vehicle was rear ended here in the 2400 block whchill emroa. after this car was rear ended, the truck that rear ended that car kept going up chillhelm road and burst into flames and quite literally exploded while it was on the road and struck another vehicle. someone came out of the house with a water hose trying to put that fire out. i want to show you a picture from close up on the scene and this is a massive crime scene. it stretches a quarter mile from the initial act. as we've been reporting there are 15 patients, 15 people have been transported, three vehicles involved and we're looking at one of them here in the

foreground. we do hear that there are fatalities and possibly some children among them. we don't have all of that confirmed. i know we pass at least three ambulances as we approach heading to children's hospital and washington hospital center, but again, a horrific crash with a fire and explosion. 15 patients involved, three vehicles involved and there are fatalities and there was a fire and an explosion and we don't have much more in the way of details right now and we're trying to get those as they're available and witnesses are are still coming up to the scene saying they know someone that have seen it and they're being corralled and sort of held until they can get to talk to investigators and they can begin to piece this all together. chillhelm road is blocked on the 2600 block and you don't want to come here if this is part of your evening commute. we are live in prince george's county. >> while you're working the scene we are on the phone here, too, and we just learned that

there are four people dead and that is three adults and one child. we are just getting that information. let me ask you, d, around you, it looks like there's a school nearby in what's around you? >> reporter: there is a -- it's kind of an area that is between where you have strip malls. there is a metro bridge right across that is just beyond that bridge in the hyattsville station and there are houses near where the accident happened. one witness told me that someone came out of their yard with a water hose trying to do something about the fire that had ensued after that impact and this vehicle was going down the road while it was on fire is what witnesses are telling me. a lot of people are telling me they've never seen anything like this before and i've heard that from police officers who have seen this sort of thing before, but this is one of the worst they have seen especially with 15 people transport period. >> derrick, we'll check back

with you later. appreciate it. right now it was a tricky ride for people who needed to catch an early morning flight at dulles airport. there was a car accident near route 28. that accident happened before 3:00 this morning, ybut the traffic was diverted and one person died in the crash and all lanes to and from the airport now open. people finished their dinner and walked out to see this more than a dozen cars swallowed by a 50-foot sink hole in an ihop parking lot. this happened last night in meridian messinger, that's on the alabama border. crews aren't sure what caused the sinkhole, but they say it could be the weather. the area has seen more than ten inches of rain in the last two weeks. while fresh off their bye,

heart wrenching. your heart is burning because you're -- you don't know how to feel. >> family and friends getting ready to say final good-byes to 6-year-old jeremy martis. he was killed tuesday night after a police chase in central louisiana. it's still unclear why two police officers opened fire allegedly shooting martis five times and wounding his father. the officers are now charged with murder. the shooting has rocked the community of marksville. >> he was the best kid you could ever think of having around you. for a child to be so loving it was just amazing and the most wonderful feeling you could have ever experienced. >> jeremy martis' funeral will be held on monday. >> now we want to go back to that breaking news scene. derrick ward live in hyattsville, the scene of a fiery crash. derrick, you are learning more information right now. what have you got it share with us?

>> the information that we have nails down the fatalities and the injuries. we are told, four people are dead and there may be two children among them. we spoke to a witness and someone who actually saw this. take a listen. >> what i had saw was the cadillac up here and the guy in the white and i guess when the collision happened the car caught on fire and as he was driving down here it blew up so he must have spun out of control and he ran into the spanish people there. we were trying to run and trying to tell him to stop. >> and maybe about a quarter of a mile away with one vehicle being struck and striking the vehicle up the road before bursting into flames and we'll

activities. currently, i'm tracking temperature testimonies in the 40s and 50s with 52 degrees in washington. tomorrow morning at 7:00 a.m. and a temperature of 42 and that's in washington and it's in the 30s if you like to go for the early morning jog, and a high tomorrow of 57 degrees and maybe an isolated shower and it's during the evening hours and 8:00 and onward when we start to track showers moving into the area. >> rain intensity on tuesday and definitely have the umbrella and i don't think we'll see any downpours and it will be during the morning hour. >> and the morning commute could be impacted on thursday and a high of 61 and veterans day, likely a damp start for tuesday's rain and a mix of clouds and sun. look at that high temperature near 70 degrees. a high of 67. a chance of a shower on thursday
