neighbors and first responders describe chaos. molette. >> we're live. all that's left at the scene, just bits of debris in the road and a little bit on the sidewalk. we can tell you. four children, four adults are fighting to survive critical injury this morning. six others also injured in this fiery crash that witnesses say started with a pickup truck hit snoot car, a cadillac, and kept going. even though it caught fire. they report that fire was simply a tire at this point. that pickup then smashed into a van full of people. the van then caught fire leaving people in this area, witnesses stunned as they watched, feeling very helpless. those inside felt trapped by the

flames. it's unclear if it explode during the collision. four people died in the three-car crash including a child. now, investigators are still looking. they were very young. the children were young. ranging 4 to 10 years of age. so hoff riffic they had to speak to counsel lor's afterward to get through what was a terrible, terrible accident. that's the latest from high yats ville. back to you. >> it is 6:03. right now a fire alarm alerted a gaithersburg family of an alarm. they alert the family of seven that their house was on fire. the montgomery county fire says this was an electrical fire

caused by an outside light fixture. it cost $225,000 worth of damage. the red cross is helping the displaced families. no one was hurt. a 19-year-old was dead and two other teens are fighting for their livilives. police say christopher thomason was speeding. his car went off the road, up an embankment, knocked down a utility role and rolled several times. can a helicopter took the other two teens to the hospital. a memorial for two brothers who died in a crash last thursday. they crashed into trees in the morning fog. their mother drove up on the crash a few minutes later. she was a teacher. also today "news4" will be in court when a judge sentence as man for murdering

15-year-old. the victim's name was charld walker. police say tavon williams was part of a group that tried to rob him back in february of 2013. when walker ran, police say williams shot him in the back. williams faces up to 69 years behind bars. fairfax county school officials are trying to figure out how to fix a $17 million budget gap. that's the expected shortfall for 2017. the school board is having an all-day work session today. they'll look at current enrollment and upcoming projects to figure out what can be done. and community members need to weigh in on the boundaries. they're looking at adding new classrooms. they're looking at expanding. tonight's hearing is at 7:00 at carver educational services center in the auditorium. a developing story out of the university of missouri.

hearing that some faculty and staff plan to walk out of classes today and tomorrow, this to support racial tension that happened on campus. this follows a lot of demonstrations calling for the resignation or removal of the university's president. concerned faculty members were told to plan to meet around 10:00 a.m. this comes after the school's football team recently came out and said it would not play until the university president is out of office. since september the university has been under fire, accused of not addressing several racial incidents some of far university president tim wolf has made no mention of resigning. the season is halfway over and the redskins' last eight games rt no i got to get any easier. tom brady lead hids team to a 27-10 win on a first drive.

changes that slowed things down. only blue line trains have served stadium-armory during the morning and evening rush hours since that fire and speeds were cut. this is to avoid overloading the power system. starting today they'll resume lines. for the past several weeks they've been passing through the station without stopping. they'll stop every eight minutes instead of every sex until the power station repairs are done and riders really have been very frustrated. >> you have to leave much earlier and it's an inconvenience. all the repairs an service should be fully restored by the end of the year. back to you. >> thank you, darcy. today metro will debut its new fleet of buses. they'll run on major north

four adults and four children are fighting for their living. a van full of people went up in flames.
