hi there, steve. >> hi, doreen, thanks. ben carson was not attacked tonight and trying to hold on to his top position in republican polls. carson is still charging that because he's a devout christian which endears him to a lot of republican voters, he's being unfairly pressed about inconsistency in his personal story. >> ben carson today went to friendly territory, fundamentalist christian liberty university. >> so many in the media, you know, want to bring me down because i represent something that they can't stand. >> reporter: but in the debate on fox business network, carson was not pressed on the accuracy of his life story. asked for specific economic plans, the seasoned candidates were ready. >> bold and simple flat tax. >> reporter: carson was not exact, focusing instead he told me on concepts like fairness. >> reporter: and the specifics, you have a grasp of that. >> i have a grasp of that and that will be coming out within the next month. >> reporter: another political

down just 5% thought he won, jim and doreen. >> steve, it doesn't seem like we've had a couple of candidates drop out, but other than that, not much seems to have changed in the months that we've had these republican debates and there's just one more gop debate before the holiday break. is there any reason to suspect this is going to become clear by january? >> maybe. the outsiders aren't going to quit and ben carson is getting more contributions and some of the more conventional candidates could run low on funds. they could run low on vim and vigor. they might quit. a lot of republicans who want somebody with government experience might aggregate and might all go to one candidate or two and that could shuffle the polls and shuffle this race or maybe none of that will happen. doreen? >> steve handelsman out of the flash survey is asking who has the momentum coming out of the debate. rubio, carson, cruz or trump.

6:05 pm
the best way to handle the situation. >> when i heard about it i honestly felt the twinge of pain. >> reporter: so she says the incident will be discussed with school leaders to try and determine if there was another way to respond to tasers used on students. >> we'll use the next meeting to address the incident as a whole and whether it was handled appropriately and whether we can improve. >> reporter: police say that student was taken in for a mental evaluation and no charges were filed and we are told the student was not injured. >> students and administrators are trained in how to de-escalate situations. they tell us that everyone involved in this incident followed school protocol. back to you. >> thanks, meagan. the attack on a girl in a home in prince george's county is not what it first seemed. police now say they are no longer looking for any suspects in an attack in riverdale this morning. the attackers were first described as two men posing as
