the breezy side this evening. the wind really starts during the day tomorrow and right on into saturday. the cold coming along with it. >> plus, a secret service officer arrested for sending explicit messages to an undercover cop. police tell us he did some of it from the white house. >> good evening. new at 11:00 tonight, we just learned the fbi is investigating threats against students at howard university. >> students gathered on the yard at howard tonight to show they're united. at bowie state another show of unity after somebody spray pa t painted a wassty ca on campus. >> talking to students at both schools, shomari is live at howard. >> reporter: good evening. students at howard and bowie state feel threatened they're under attack. both are historically black colleges and universities.

these howard university students stand in solidarity. tonight, they stepped up security after an online threat threatening racial slurs and any on campus is found. so i've decided any black left at howard university ter 10:00 tomorrow will be the first to go and mentioned it will leave him or her a hero. >> it's hurtful. people take pride in this school. >> united we stand, divide wed fall. >> reporter: tonight, bowie state another historically black college and university held a rally against hate at the martin luther king center? ment someone spray painted a wass wassty -- swatistka. >> i feel like somebody is ta t taunting us after what happened

at missouri. >> reporter: after the incident in missouri black students demanded a change in leadership over how administrators handled racial issues. today, dozens of lsu students made and had a moment of silence to show support for the black students at missouri. at yale university thousands took to the streets to protest upset over racial tensions on campus. one student of color claimed she was turned away from a frat party that was quote white girls only. back out here at howard, school administrators urge any with information, if you see something suspicious, call police. i'm shomari stone, news4. >> the university of missouri has new leadership tonight. mike middleton is the new interim president there. he graduated from mizzou and professor and administrator with the um system for more than 30 years. he becomes the second african-american to hold the position and says it's an opportunity to move the

institution forward and create an environment where all students feel comfortable and safe. >> color in this country is an issue that is considered, that affects many, many decisions that are made. positively and negatively. we need to understand that, accept it and get beyond it. >> middleton assumes the position immediately. he says the school has already started implementing new diversity initiatives. >> turning to the weather now, hold on, folks, the wind starting to pick up out there, gusts up to 40 miles an hour in some spots. sounds like we better get used to this. >> the winds really started k k kicking up about an hour or two ago and will continue to ramp up as we move on tonight. tomorrow will be a windy day across our region. these are the current wind gu gusts. we've seen them in some places

basically the capital of syria and he was part of a group that held caleb hostage and killed her. he grew up in london and studied computer programming. right now, u.s. officials are assessing the operation to see if they killed him. >> thank you. a secret service agent is accused tonight of sending inappropriain appropriate messages and pictures in a sexting scheme and even some from the white house. robert moore accused of sending a text and sending naked pictures of himself to someone he thought was a 14-year-old girl. this went on a few months. turns out it was an undercover cop from delaware. moore is even accused of trying to set up a meeting. he was stationed in a booth at the time checking ids for entrance into the white house. moore is from churchill, maryland, the eastern store and

faces state and federal charges now. his security clearance is suspended and he's now on administrative leave. eri erinverything is back non the bus fire at the foggy bottom in new orleans. a viewer sent this showing heavy flames and smoke. the back of the double-decker bus caught fire and nobody was on the bus at the time. new at 11:00, the prosecu r prosecutors they tell us is responsible for injuries of emts. he was drunk, lost control of his car, skid across the beltway and hit the emts while driving in snowy conditions back in february. today, we confirm he faces dui and other charges. we checked and he has a history of chol related incidents. in one case, he received probation, in another he received 30 days in jail.

tonight, a serial scammer is facing up to 70 years in prison for taking cash out of your pockets. he's ta ae's stolen money from s and tried to profit from the death of baltimore teenager freddie gray. jackie has news how he got caught. >> reporter: we're told some sharp-eye'd employees at the courthouse noticed something was wrong. >> they saw a pattern of activity the women that worked at the courthouse that shay knew this man was abusing the system and brought it to the attention of the judge. >> reporter: prosecutors say 51-year-old kenneth hinton is this man who sued every one. court filings showed dozens of class action lawsuits he tried to join despite the fact he never used the product the subject of the suit. >> we don't really know the full extent he benefitted financially but hundreds of thousands of dollars.

>> reporter: hinton had worked as aparalegal at a prestigious law firm. he even sued them. he sent over 400 legal filings to the state attorney's office and presiding judge. even after he was jailed in april he kept filing fraudulent claims. just 6 days after the baltimore riot in baltimore, hinton told sheriff's deputies his stomach hurt and needed to go to the hospital. >> we have event. he was taken to the hospital and had no injuries. >> reporter: video was taken to court and says it contradicts his claims he was thrown headfirst into a transport van and blacking out on the floor. multiple counts of fraud and perjury, the judge said he has proven himself in his pathological in his pursuit of

developing tonight a utah judge wants to take baby away from lesbian foster parents but child service sincere says it will fight the judge. it went against the recommendation the baby should stay with the married couple who already have kids of their own. the judge wants to place the child with a heterosexual couple for what the judge calls the child's well-being.

it was said the judge should rely on the law and not his own religious beliefs. tonight, more than 100 women say their birth control failed and filed a lawsuit against a company where it was produced in pennsylvania. they were upside down and the placebo was taken at the wrong time. they recalled it in 2011 and claimed only an extremely small number were claimed to be defective and only one sold. the suit could end up costing the company millions in dollars of damages for last pay and mental and physical suffering and in some cases the cost of pregnancy and childbirth and raising a child. a bethesda college student pleading guilty of a drug charge after several students overdosed on the drug, molly.

22-year-old zachary cramer was dealing drugs while attending wesleyan university in connecticut. last year, two almost died and cramer faces up to 2 1/2 years in prison when sentenced in february. want to get to your final destination on time and unfrazzled? all aboard hawaiian airlines. forbes looked at it and determined it was the most reliable. 91% of its flights at thanksgiving arrived on time. the worst is frontier airlines, based in denver where delays due to weather are a regular issue. just 66% of frontier's flights arrived on time during the holid holidays. we are just a couple weeks away from one of the busy times

the stroller and go through the x-ray machine and go through swabs of liquids like breast mick and her hands because she carried her child. you're doing all this while trying to keep the little one happy. the professional advice, plan accordingly and leave anything unnursery at home. you may be able to rent a car seat when you land but call in advance and make sure that seat is in good working order before you put your child in it. >> as a father of two kids, i can tell you these things aren't light and the less you can bring to the security checkpoint will make your life easier. >> reporter: little leo made it through but there were hoops to jump through. as we head to the busy holiday period, a tip from the tsa. >> keep things in plastic bags. it makes the process a lot quicker. >> reporter: a tip from mom, emily. >> some people ask for help.

gusting 30 to 45 miles an hour. the winds are just off to the west making their way in. 57 degrees in d.c., 56 in fredericksburg. temperatures won't drop very fast tonight even though we have a cold front come through. winds keep temperatures up and tomorrow. nothing on the radar. it stays dry. we have the storm system moving through earlier today and moves out. we are seeing colder air beg beginning to move. see these dark gray clouds, that's colder air moving across the area. the storm system moving to canada. for us, it is cooler air and it will take a while. future wind gusts tomorrow morning and 30 in gaithersburg, 25 in leesburg. that means you'll be cold at the bus stop tomorrow afternoon. we have winds 35 miles an hour and gusts upwards of 40 and tomorrow, 3:00. if you're headed out friday night to dinner, a cold dinner.

56 in gaithersburg, 60 in culpeper. plenty of sunshine but we have the wind. what to wear tomorrow. the jacket and scarves. you won't need gloves or umbrella. we're not talking rain or that cold. wear layers tomorrow because it will start fairly chilly and move into milder temperatures. tomorrow, low to moderate. cool and windy conditions. i do think the wind will have an impact on your day or moderate impact. same deal on saturday. saturday's winds 25-30 miles an hour. high temperature of only 51. some of you will have temperatures only in the upper 40s. that means wind chill saturday could be in upper 30s all day long. saturday a very chilly day. windy and cold. winds 20-30 miles an hour. get out the coats, you will need them. winds and sunshine high temperature of 57. cold for the weekend.
