"news4's" kristin wright is following the newest developments on that from the live desk. >> that's rye. lots of developments overnight in paris. first the u.s. embassy is warning of potential terrorist attacks in specific locations in rome and milan. among them, st. peters basilica in vatican city as well as general venues like churches, synagogues, restaurants, and hotels, and also whether the apparent mastermind is dead or alive. yesterday we still don't know. european officials telling the "washington post" that he is, in fact, dead. also this morning authorities in belgium have launched six raids in the brussels region linked to the paris suicide bomber. those attacks unfolding this morning. aen official in the belgium federal prosecutor's office

saying those raids are taking place and that this is ongoing. more throughout the morning. back to you. >> thank you, kristin. on capitol hill, a vote today to make it harder for syrian refugees to enter this country. the white house is suggesting a veto but president obama's policies are not in line with public opinion. tracie potts will have more. the man who admitted to attacking a bus driver in d.c. will make his first court appearance. he admits he was angry when he punched the driver earlier this month. it was the 69th attack on a metro driver. a woman caught on camera doing yoga will appear in court. the "news4" i-team showed you the video of her climbing down on the tracks at the westphals

tracks last year. metro police arrested her in october. more protests in minneapolis right now over the death of black man in police custody. these protests started days ago after jamar clark was shot and killed. you're looking at now protests from the last several hours where people reportedly threw rocks and bottles at police officers. those police officers then pepper sprayed the protesters. we're getting conflicting reports this morning of just how many people were arrested, but it sounds like no more than one. some of those officers were hurt by the rocks with just minor injuries. back to you. kristin, thank you. let's get you up to speed on the forecast this morning. chuck? >> all right. thanks, aaron. indeed a "storm team 4" weather alert. you need to stay alert. it's one of those days you'll want to stay ahead of the weather as best as you can.

from the police right now and we'll be back with that in a couple of minutes. right now prince george's county, don't see any problems. again, these blobs here, these sections that you see, kind of the green mass this morning, that is showing where we're getting rain falling right now. at old chapel, we'll still have some cleanup there. this image is temporarily unavailable. that's 28 and 66. we were seeing rain. back to you in a few minutes. >> now to a story we'll see only on "news4." we'll hear from a man who was trapped under this 30,000-pound bus. the bus hit james holmes while he was crossing 7th and massachusetts two weeks ago. you saw the news two weeks ago as crews jacked up the bus and freed him. holmes who is 77 years old said he cannot believe it's a bus who landed him in the hospital. >> in 35 years -- hit by a bus.

>> holmes has a broken leg. he is currently in rehabilitation and is expected to get back on his feet soon. this morning we're working to see what can be done about a dangerous stretch of road in hyattsville. a pedestrian is in critical condition after being hit on the road. this is the same stretch of road that was the site of a deadly crash involved a church van last week. four people died in that accident. 4:35. police in the district are looking for six suspects a after deadly shooting in the northeast. here's the surveillance video. the shooting happened outside a hotel on tuesday. the suspects and a car were caught on a nearby surveillance camera. 21-year-old kevin walls was killed. police arrested george edward yesterday morning for the murder of reginald perry.

he was shot and killed near the shaw and howard metro station. and there's no word from police on a motive in that kay. it is why a lot of you were stuck in traffic last night. protesters shut down a major intersection in d.c. for nationals trans week of action. the demonstration was right in the middle of the evening rush on 14th street in columbia heights, the goal to bring attention to the crimes and specifically the murder of transgender victims across the country. the most recent, 22-year-old zella ziona. >> we're demanding justice, dignity, and respect. also we want this to stop. >> d.c. police did block the intersection to protect the protesters after several requests and warnings the

organizers and protesters were arrested. a former loudoun county school supervisor said he's seeking treatment for alcohol abuse. in upper marlboro a former teacher could get a 25-year sentence today. the judge found andre brown guilt of having sex in september. he had sex in a boys locker rook at home coming back in 2013. they will question the decision to close the hospital. earlier this month laurel mayor said they'll work dom up with a better plan. more than 100 workers have already been laid off. metro likely to vote on a new leader to address your safety krps.

two men who stole a car made a detour after they found an 8-year-old in the back seat. they jumped in the car at the post office. >> they asked the boy where he went to school and they dropped him off like it was a red school day. he went to class as his mother and police searched for him. the car was found a few miles away from the school. all right. at least the child is okay. >> i guess so. time for "weather & traffic on the 1s." it's a "storm team 4" weather alert day. tom is following some potential weather. >> yes, indeed. big-time rains coming our way

just in time for the thursday morning commute. this will be a very impactful event. not looking for a threat of high end weather. brief periods could really slow things down here and the heaviest of the rain between 6:00 and 8:00 this morning. so school day forecast. plan on rain at the bus stop, but it is mild outside this morning. temperatures are near 60 now. it will be mid-60s. recess gets an "f." that's one of the changes in the forecast. it may actually continue into the afternoon commute as well. i'll talk about when those raindrops will finally come to an end in a couple manufacture minutes and start talking about the cooldown for the weekend. now to melissa. >> you can see some of the wet roads no matter where you're headed. 95 at prince william parkway. 90 south, we have reports of

a number of things that we're following iffer you including latest coming from paris this morning. there are six raids happening in brussels right now and we're also learning this morning that the president is make comments about that vote that's happening here on capitol hill, lawmakers voting in the house today on whether or not to block his plan to allow more syrian refugees into this country. now, it's a house vote, so it's not a final vote. but it is the first big push by congress to push back on that. and our new nbc news survey monkey online poll shows 66% do not want to see additional syrian refugees brought into this country. we'll see what happens with that vote today. getting push back from republicans who say they need a lot more information on the verification process and skepticism from americans who want to make sure the country is kept safe. >> tracie potts from capitol

hill. thank you. a mayor is no longer part of the clinton campaign. this after david roanoke compared the situation to world war ii. he said we should help syrian refugees just as franklin d. roosevelt helped in world war ii. in arlington county, virginia, a different approach. you see on the website weekending refugees. won woman said it's a comforting message. she works at a lebanese restaurant in arlington and still has family living in syria. >> they want to leave. >> yes. everybody want to go out. everybody. if they stay there, they will die. >> more than 60% of washington viewers who responded to our question on facebook, the u.s. should refuse entry to syrian

refugees. this morning a family is trying to raise money for a murdered victim. a woman found a man in the park on saturday. he was stabbed to death. the family wanted to send perez back to el salvador to be buried. the community set up a gofundme page. still no arrests. a violent central american gang has started recruiting again in this country. it's leading to more gang violence. according to court documents. three gang members killed a 22-year-old man in a village. they thought he was connected to a rival gang. the county is actively trying to dismantle these gangs. >> we're about intervention and educate patients and kids in the dangers involved in gangs. >> a prince george's county couple won an interesting case.
