newsroom of a car parked in a middle of a dorm hall. it crashed there late last night. "news4's" molette green is on campus with what the school is telling students. molette, good morning. >> reporter: good morning. the building you can see behind me is now tape -- there's tape around the building and the area where the crash happened is now boarded up. university, the university tweeted out the building is safe and the students are back inside after, of course, quite an incident last night. you're looking at what was quite a scene here on fourth street as the car crashed into the building there. campus police tell us there were no injuries to the driver or to the student bus the students, of course, had to be evacuated when all of this happened. this is the bethune annex, one of the dorms -- a brand-new construction, one of the newer buildings on campus nchl the video it appears the police took

someone into custody, but when i talked to university police this morning, they would not confirm whether or not they have someone in custody and charges have been brought against the driver of the car. we still don't know why. and we're working to find out how all of this happened, what led up to this, if alcohol was indeed a factor in this incident. but that's the latest live here on campus. again, the building boarded up. the students are back inside, the building deemed safe. back to you. 5:02. breaking response to last week's terror attacks. the man accused of planning the attacks was killed earlier this week and so was his cousin and we learn a third body was found, that news coming from bros. c e prosecutors. but we don't know anything else about it. we are learning about a discarded cell phone. we hear from police it may have been abdelhamid abuaaoud's

cousin. here in d.c., a muslim group will stand in protest against isis. they will bus people in from northern virginia starting at 3:00 this afternoon. developing right now, an american teen died in an attack in israel. 18-year-old ezra schwartz was one of five people killed in two terror attacks. one in tel aviv and the other in the west bank. schwartz was from boston and was studying in israel. today two men charged with first-degree murder and armed robbery will held back to court. earl bennett and shante gladdet are accused of shooting a victim in a park.

a gofundme account has been set up for mcclees's daughter. you can head to the nbc app for more information. in other informations, a man who landed a jie role copter outside the white house will appear in court today. he admitted to flying it without a license in april. he did it to draw attention to how rich people and corporations can influence politics. he'll ask the judge to allow him to participate in a democracy spring march before sentencing. breaking news just minutes ago, confirmation that a u.s. -- that a convicted spy caught selling u.s. intelligence to israel was released from plizen this morning. jonathan pollard spent the last 30 years behind bars on espionage charges. the 61-year-old got parole from a life sentence and was released early this morning. as part of his release, pollard has to stay in the u.s. for at least five years.

5:15. today the naacp will hold a rally in the wake of the jamar clark shooting. he was shot in the head by police officers responding to a

domestic dispute on sunday. protesters say clark was handcuffed when he was shot. a plan to add tollways on 66 is getting closer to reality. they just endorsed the concept. megan mcgrath has more on what's going on here. megan, good morning to you. >> reporter: good morning, eun. we're driving live on i-66. we passed washington boulevard a little while ago. take a look at our live dash cam here. traffic is very light. but if you drive 66, it's going to be a couple of hours and we're going to see a lot of traffic on this road, especially inside the beltway. how would you feel about paying tolls when driving inside the beltway f that would ease the congestion? well t well, the arlington county board has a plan that would increase

toll costs. vdot says there's no room for widening i-66 inside the beltway and that tolling is the only way to ease congestion. what would that mean for you? well, if you go back and forth to work using i-66, it could mean that you would pay up to $300 a month. again, we're talking about the stretch inside the beltway. now, the board approved the measure -- and this is kind of important -- in concept. so in other words there's a lot more discussion that needs to take place, a lot more study, and they also need more detail about exactly how this would work. but this is a first step. back to you in the studio. >> thank you, megan. 5:17. hundreds of health care officials want to change how the public views hiv. they're going to meet at the university to talk about the stigma of hiv. this concept looks into why people don't get treated. genetically modified salmon

the shooting death. a federal appeals cord will consider whether a person has to state a good reason in order to obtain a concealed carry permit. this as a new poll finds the district almost equally split on a city wide ban on gun ownership. 55% say they want it reinstated. 47% said they did not. tomorrow residents can turn in guns. show up with it unloaded in the trunk. police officers will take the gun and citizens will get a gift card for as much as $150 in return. it runs from 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 new mexico the afternoon. new details about our beloved pandas. giant pandas will stay at the national zoo for another five years. the zoo and the conservation

here, but that's not stopping things you need to know about break news out of mali right now. a hostage situation happening in radisson blue hotel in bamako. 140 guests and 30 employees taken hostage. here's what we know at this point. gunmen stormed the radisson blu in mali. the u.s. embassy right now telling americans to shelter in place there. we have statement in from the hotel there in mali saying that they're aware of the hostage situation. first you're looking at a tweet from the u.s. embassy there.

lawmakers are at odds over how to fight isis and how to handle syrian refugees. nbc's tracie potts is on the hill for us this morning with more on this battle in cob. good morning. >> good morning. do you block every grandmother and children as they put it to prevent isis from slipping in or do you trust the verification system that's in place? that's whether the difference is. right now 47% democrats have voted against it. that now moves to the senate where leaders tell us it's not going to be taken up until after the thanksgiving break. harry reid essentially says don't worry about it. it's not going to pass. it won't even get to a white house veto. secretary kerry was on capitol hill talking about the numbers. he said there's been 3/4 of

million coming into the country. 2% are of fighting age. only 12 have been arrested or deported. the admin straugs is arguing this is an overreaction here on capitol hill. some lawmakers including those who pass it in the house argue that it's necessary. thank you, tracie. debates after the terror in paris now starting to impact decision 2016. hillary clinton says keeping syrian refugees out of the country is giving in to what isis wants. >> turning away orphans, applies a religious test, discriminating against refugees, slamming the door, that's not who we are. >> she said the u.s. should intensify and speed up countering isis. she said that should include putting boots on the ground.

a similar response from bernie sanders. he said, quote, we are a strong enough nation to say we're not going to lose who we are as a people. >> i'm not happy about hearing we should close our borders to men, well, and children who have been displays and driven out of their homes. >> he said muslim nations need to let the fight on the ground while other major forces supply what they need. new details this morning about a secret service officer. lee moore is charged with trying to sew less it sex with an undercover agent posing as a 14-year-old girl. court documents show moore had contact with two actual underage girls online. he's accuse of exchange obscene pictures and texts with them, some while he was on duty at the white house. prosecutors want him to remain in prison until his trial.

what a rescue here. a kayaker fell out of his boat while rushing through the rapids. that's when a volunteer rescuers jumped into the water and brought him to safety. the kayaker broke his tailbone but expects to be kayaking in about two weeks. california instructors are required to teach schoolchildren that yes means yes. yes means yes means sex is only consensual when both partners are sober and clearly state their willingness to participate. california is the first school to start with it in high school

white house. president obama stopped deportations and keeps families together. the march starts at 8:30 this morning. a recent court decision blocked the programs. the programs protect undocumented parents of children born in the u.s. and undocumented students completing their education. more protesters will gather at the u.s. supreme court and demand that the obama administration appeal to the high court to overturn that decision. it begins at 11:30. a loudoun county woman who took a loaded gun into dulles airport is facing some serious charges now. the woman from ashburn was stopped at a security checkpoint yesterday afternoon. she had a 45 caliber handgun loaded with four bullets in her purse. in addition to criminal charges, she could also face a hefty fine. they're allowed to travel if they're properly packaged and declared. the tsa wants you do be prepared for the biggest travel
