place. authorities were tipped off by threats that and online. the alleged attack is planned at philips arena for a wrestling event called survivor series. fbi said it doesn't have credible evidence of an attack. they are taking the threat seriously. the event will go on as planned. a turkish airline felines had to be diverted to nova scotia after authorities received threat of a bomb threat yesterday afternoon. the plane had 256 people on board. it landed safely. no word on what they found. >> belgian officials monitoring a serious attack against brussels. city's mayor recommended cafes, bars close early. the subway is shut down and u.s. embassy in belgium urged americans to shelter in place and remain at home. some businesses decided to stay open but understood why so many stayed inside.

>> doesn't make us angry. life is like that. it had to be like that to save our life so better to be like that. >> at least one paris attacker salah abdelslam closed into belgium the morning after the attack. police aren't saying whether he may be the reason for the threat increase. >> a woman remembered anita datar one of 19 who died when gunmen stormed radisson blu hotel in mali. she leaves behind a 7-year-old son. democratic presidential candidate hillary clinton knew her personally. clinton said she, quote, represented the best of america's generous spirit, unquote. datar was a public health expert working for an international development firm right here in d.c. prince william taking a look at policy to check immigration status of those stopped by police. during a meeting saturday, the board of supervisors asked an internal auditor to investigate whether police are following that policy. it requires officers to check immigration standing of all people arrested.

they are required to tell immigration and customs enforcement if they find a person with a warrant against them. prince william county has one of the strictest immigration laws in the country. we have a tragic end to a story that's been developing all week. a troubled washington college student whose disappearance forced the school to lock down is dead. police found his body at a wild bird sanctuary in his home state of pennsylvania yesterday afternoon. he was in a land rover authorities are searching for. news 4's darcy spencer has more. >> reporter: washington college student jacob marberger disappeared monday forcing schools to close the campus until after thanksgiving break after they searched for the teenager. jacob marberger found dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound saturday afternoon in pennsylvania. washington college released a statement that said in part, this is a terrible blow to our community.

the outpouring of compassion and support we have shown each other will help us through this difficult time. we need to continue to be supportive of each other as we mourn individually and as a community. marberger's parents alerted the school that their son had returned home from the college which is on maryland's eastern shore in chestertown and grabbed a rifle case. they weren't sure if he was armed but he was later spotted on surveillance video at a walmart in pennsylvania buying ammunition. his dad spoke at a candlelight vigil during the manhunt. jacob, wherever you are, whatever indiscretions you've done, they are all recoverable. >> but then he was kicked out of his fraternity and forced to resign his elected position as speaker of the campus senate right before he disappeared. counseling services will still be offered to students when they return from the holiday break. right now a d.c. area fire company is preparing to honor a fallen firefighter.

lieutenant mcray collapsed fighting a fire at a downtown highrise in may. derrick ward is live with a preview of the day. >> as you can see behind me the park adjacent to engine six at the building at 7th and o street northwest. that building house as lot of elderly folks, folks mobility challenged. particular important to get a response there. he was one of the first to get there. the fire on the 9th and 10th floor. he stayed in the building for about an hour and helped five people get down to safety. on the last trip down he collapsed. he died a short time later at a nearby hospital. since then this has been

a deadly landslide there. the slide near a jade mine in northern myanmar killed seven people yesterday afternoon. search crews will continue looking for survivors today. the region is home to some of the highest quality jade bringing in billions a year. date night turned into chaos at a new jersey theater last night, a domestic dispute led some to believe there was a bomb threat. police did not find a bomb. they say at least one person inside a theater was yelling and behaving strangely evening jumping over seats. that's when other people in the theater got scared and started leaving. a minor injury was reported by a person trying to get out of the theater. no arrest was made. a huge upset in the bayou state. the big change that led to a new governor in louisiana. thousands headed to the roads, what kind of weather can you expect on the busiest travel

problem. the strategy pursuing, i think the president lost credibility looking like he took the isis threat seriously because of comments you brought up, jv and so forth. you are going to hear what leon panetta, head of cia, he's got specific ideas in there. biggest thing, attack on france is an attack on all. if you have that you have command structure. while ideas are good, tactics aren't working because there isn't a cohesive leader in this. america and nato could be that leader. >> what about the president wanting to create this coalition that includes russia. what kind of challenge for the u.s.? >> you'll hear secretary panetta saying i don't trust the russians, i don't want to do that. he does envision russians under

american command, nato command or vice versa. ultimately you have to make your decision. if isis is going to be there, fine. there's more and more thought that, look, assad has to go. the policy is not going to change on that. you can't come to any agreement with the russians. there's a coalition plane, russian plane, iranian plane, maybe targeting the same thing at the same time. there obviously has to be coordination. that's what makes it complicated. the whole world wants to defeatsey. they don't agree who should be in charge of that. >> now you've got groups anonymous and all these other groups, who is fighting who. >> it's a mess. there sort of -- there needs to be swo to take command and control. at the end of the day, not american leadership, nobody else is going to do it. nobody trusts russians to do it.

a wwe event. the fbi says it's aware but they have not found any credible evidence. a woman caused a hockdown at the white house after tossing an apple core over the fence. the lockdown lasted for about five minutes yesterday afternoon. the secret service took the woman in for questioning of she was not charged. the washington college student at the center of a campus shutdown is dead. jacob marberger's body found yesterday in pennsylvania. the college shut down when his parents told authorities he had taken one of their guns and disappeared. >> a 41-year-old man dead after his mother said he took pcp. she hid in her room and called

welcome back. it's one of the most iconic buildings on the national mall. most of the smithsonian capital is shut off to the public until now. news 4's tom sherwood takes us to the parts unknown inside the capital. >> the smithsonian castle completed back in 1855, a medieval style unlike most of official washington. the room near the entrance contains remains of james smithson who never in his life visited the united states. smithsonian council curator has worked in the castle 39 years.

in the district tom sherwood, news 4. talk about a special welcome to the neighborhood, police escorts and big american flag help make an army veteran feel right at home. members of suntrust bank and military warriors support foundation presented jeremy horsely with keys to his brand-new home yesterday. horsely was moved by the family. it's a beautiful home, you know, the neighborhood is great. for bill to have an opportunity like this and walk into something like that, it's amazing. >> it took an army of contractors to get the home ready. it needed major repair work before he could move in. >> any chance that army of contractors is available to come to my house. >> i don't know. they did a beautiful job. it really took a lot of time. he's so grateful but we are so thankful for what he's done and given for our country. so weatherwise, we're commenting on how the camera was shaking in
