raids were carried outovernight. the operation failed to capture salah abdeslam. 1,000 officers are part of this ongoing manhunt to find him. brussels remains on the highest alert level ever shutting down transportation, shops, schools and more for another day. still at this hour, we're not clear how long this lockdown will last. right now we do know that 21 people were taken into custody overnight. they're being questioned. and we're hearing more arrest warrants are expected to be issued today. >> new video after the terror attacks in paris. you're watching rescue operations at the bataclan concert hall. this was just released by the french interior ministry today. david cameron and francois hollande laid a wreath at that hall today. twitter could help people identify one of the suspects.

police are asking for any information about the man you see in this picture. the french government says he is one of the three suicide bombers who atacked crowds outside the national stadium in the middle of a soccer game. today we learn american air strikes destroyed another 280 isis tankers in syria. just as another country may join the attacks there. british prime minister said this morning that he plans to reach out to parliament for approval to begin air strikes. he met with president hollande in france today. the leaders also said they agreed to cooperate against terrorism by sharing intelligence with each other. cold winds out of the north and west. mostly clear sky, live view, storm team 4 tower camera overlooking northwest washington. off in the distance, montgomery county, just a few clouds popping up. it is cold. the winds gusting around 20 miles per hour. windchills in the 20s. temperatures are climbing now to near 40.

here today to help the students at this school cope with a tough loss. the loudoun county sheriff's department contacted me 30 minutes ago, they will release the student's full name a bit later today. so therefore we are not using the 15-year-old's full name and image until that happens. the young man, this teenager, beloved by so many here, died reportedly speeding away from a traffic stop. >> we all called him wil. some of the kids called him bert. he was fun-loving kid. >> reporter: that makes the loss harder for the school community. a sophomore. a band leader here lost his life in a fiery crash early sunday morning in sterling. >> he loved music. any instrument he could find, he tried to learn to play it. saxophonist in the marching band and jazz band. loved music. learning to play the bass. he wanted to play bass next

year. he was working hard to make great music, too. >> reporter: students who had classes with him say he was a nice person and many wore pink to class today to honor his memory. >> that's part of the process of working through it. >> reporter: there are lessons to be learned from a traffic stop that turned into a fiery deadly crash. just after 12:30 sunday morning in sterling, a deputy spotted the 15-year-old driving without headlights. the driver started to pull over but drove off and when the officer continued with the traffic stop, the driver reportedly sped off, crashing into a parked car which then pushed that car into two other parked vehicles. >> very good drivers ed program here. reality based. we revised the curriculum so kids know the consequences. >> remember the good stuff. you can't dwell on the fact he's gone. you have to keep the memories. he's always with you in

memories. we're blessed to have known him. >> reporter: there was one other person in the car, a 15-year-old girl who was seriously injured and is in the hospital recovering. a school spokesperson tells me she was not a student in the county public school system. we're live this morning, molette green, news 4. a developing story out of south korea where a u.s. military chopper has crashed. we have some new video into the newsroom of the aftermath. two pilots, we're told, died when the apache helicopter crashed this morning. according to military officials, no official cause of the crash has been released. the state newspaper there in korea says the aircraft may have hit power lines or a nearby steel tower. they found a lot of wires in the wreckage. we'll bring you more as we get it in, including the pilots names. barbara? a cross-country trip that

everyone is safe after southwest airlines says a group of unruly passengers forced them to divert the flight. the plane was heading from indianapolis to los angeles. several passengers did not follow crew instructions and started acting suspiciously. police then escorted at least

wind gusts are beginning to diminish. right now it feels like around upper 20s to 30 degrees. by 1:00, still feeling like mid 30s. by 5:00 p.m., the feels-like temperature in the upper 30s. winds diminishing by this afternoon. temperatures mid 40s by 4:00, then by 7:00, back down to the upper 30s. thanksgiving travel forecast around the nation, that's coming up in a few minutes. >> feels like winter out there. when it comes to thanksgiving travel, apparently tuesday is the new wednesday. information gathered from the last three years shows traffic can come to a stretching halt on tuesdays. driving between springfield and richmond on the tuesday before turkey day took some people more than 3 1/2 hours versus an hour on wednesday, an hour less than that. the height of the getaway occurred 5:00 p.m. on tuesday in all three years that were studied.

the airport is going to be a famili fa mi familiar sight for a lot of folks this season. air travel is going up 12% this season. >> kristin wright is live at reagan airport right now. kristin? >> reporter: hey, guys. the tsa does expect this year to be the busiest air travel season ever. and so they talked to us today a while ago, gave us some tips. tomorrow and wednesday they say will be the busiest travel days for thanksgiving, this week. number one tip get to the airport early, as always. tsa laid out a few reminders, hopefully to get us through security faster, like know the rules for carry-on liquids. know what 311 means, also familiarize yourself with what you can and can't bring through security. the tsa website and the app have a search feature called when i

fly can i bring my to help you figure it out. tsa pre-check can be useful. it's an expedited security screening program for low-risk passengers who qualify. it's too late to enroll for thanksgiving, but you can do it in time for december then you don't have to take off your shoes and belt. how early does the tsa say we need to get to the airport this year. >> expect two hours. i've seen people come here three hours in advance. i've seen people come here an hour. you have to know the airport that you're going to. also know how long it might take for you and give yourself some time to buffer. >> reporter: here's another one as far as gifts. the tsa recommends you use detective gift boxes or gift bagged, you can bring a wrapped gift, but they can't see through the machines what it is, they'll unwrap it. there you go.

statement saying he hopes the teenager is sorry for his actions. the pastor also said he wants to forgive him. later today, baltimore's state's attorney will speak with students at howard university marilyn mosby gained national fame after wanting to try six police officers in the death of freddie gray. her appearance comes one week before the first of those officers will go to trial. >> today families living in ward 8 can get all the trimmings for a thanksgiving meal for free. those in need can stop by malcolm x elementary in southeast and pick up a turkey. last year volunteers handed out 3,000 turkeys and over 40,000 pounds of fresh vegetables. today we invite you to join us in our annual food 4 families campaign. we're collecting food and money to give a thanksgiving meal to a local family in need.

right now an investigation underway into a u.s. military helicopter crash. take a look. this is video of the crash we received only an hour ago. this crashed in south korea. u.s. military officials say two pilots on board died. right now it's not clear what

i'm eun yang. wondering why the internet is exploding with cat-themed tweets? this cute picture clogging up your feed? it's problem part of something more serious, the ongoing raids in brussels. the defense minister asked people not to tweet officers movements during raids targeting terrorism suspects. he used the #brusselslockdown. so people used that initiative to start tweeting cats burying any tweets that might harm the operations. a tribute to the victims of terror in paris.
