shenandoah valley mid-to-low 20s. a look at the warming trend for week ahead. how long the dry pattern will last us, coming up. a devastating house fire sends one woman to the hospital in the southeast d.c. the blaze broke out just before 3:00 on 5th street. the 3300 block of 5th street is closed as crews investigate how this fire started. >> a possible threat has been cleared from a u.p.s. facility in san bernardino. the bomb squad was called out this morning to look in a suspicious package. it was addressed to the san bernardino shooters. a driver came back to the facility after realizing that the delivery he had was meant for syed farook and tashfeen malik. police said once they looked inside they only found clothes. minutes into the attack at the inland regional center, tashfeen

malik praised support for an isis leader. this was on facebook. >> a facebook executive said she posted under an alias account around when the first 911 calls came in. facebook found the account on thursday, took it down and gave all the info toç police. the fbi has officially declared this attack a terror investigation. now investigators don't believe the two had any direct ties to isis or any other terrorist network. malik was born in pakistan and lived in saudi arabia before moving back to pakistan for pharmacy school. malik met syed farook online. they got married in mecca. farook's sister said she hardly knew her sister-in-law. >> you met her, she's the girl next door, the sweet, innocent kind. the kind that's smiling, that's nice to you. you would never ever guess. >> malik was a soft spoken

information leading to an arrest. a young man missing for a week found dead in a virginia park. police trying to figure out how 22-year-old eduardo's body ended up in four mile run park in alexandria. an autopsy will determine the cause and manner of death. the city has only had four homicides this year. it's the second time in a month a murder victim has been found in a park. if you listen closely, you can hear the crowd, some in the crowd booing gop front-runner donald trump. he was interrupted ten times last night in north carolina. each time the protester's signs were taken and they were removed. in his speech trump took jabs at hillary clinton, barack obama and jeb bush.

you're watching news 4 today. this is the kind of pilot you want to have if your plane had to make emergency landing. the small plane was having problems with its landing gear, so the pilot made a belly landing in palm springs, california. sparks flew as the plane hit the runway. the fire department was ready to spray the jet down. the passenger and pilot, they got out safe and unharmed. it seems the chipotle e. coli scare reached our area. the most recent person to get sick lives in central maryland. chipotle says it will impose stricter rules for food safety including testing all produce in smaller batches as well as enhancing training for the handling of food. investigators still don't know which ingredient triggered the

outbreak. chipotle says it's unlikely that ingredient is still in the food supply. a new report is raising concerns about drunk driving in the district. a foundation for advancing alcohol responsibility found 62% of d.c. residents don't know the legal limit is 0.08%. 31% of people nationwide only use the number of drinks they've had to determine if it's too much. just 30% of d.c. residents admit to taking a safe ride home after drinking. the survey found two-thirds of millennials say they've intervened and stopped someone from drinking and driving, only a third, one third of baby boomers have done the same. 6:11 now. chicago's police department facing new questions about the killing of a teen. what police records from that night say did andç did not hapn

results of a blood test. belgium is asking the public for help finding two islamic militant suspects they believe are on the run. they are looking for two men who travelled with a key suspect to hungary in september. both ben used fake belgian i.d. cards and both of the names they used have come up in the investigation of the paris attacks. the band that was on stage in paris when gunmen opened fire last month is returning to the city of lights this weekend. billboard is reporting that eagles of death metal will join u2 for the last song during a concert tomorrow. eagles of death metal will also continue its european tour in february. u2 was scheduled to play in paris the night after the attacks but postponed the performance. u2 offered its plane and met with eagles of death metal in the days following the attacks. we're finding out much more about the victims in the san bernardino shooting.

two dozen officers and deputies in prince george's county going to head back to the streets with a new understanding about how to deal with mentally ill people. they are the latest graduates of the crisis intervention team training program. juliry carrie was invited inside the classroom for challenging and emotional lessons. it's a story we'll share with you right here on news 4 today. the annual adoption and foster care expot is this weekend at the carnegie library. every year it attract people for different reasons. some people come looking for where to begin the adoption process. current adoptive and foster parents will also share their experiences and offer advice. at nbc 4 we've been pretty passionate for years about helping families adopt through foster care. the expot is from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. today at the carnegie lier before in northwest. >> you didn't have to wait too long. in virginia, officers and

deputies are part of that crisis intervention training out of prince william county. it's something that's become a trend given the condition with mentally ill folks and trying to deal with them. the bureau chief jewelry carrie has more on this. ♪ >> reporter: it's a tiny pin that represents a week of intense training. >> afternoon. >> reporter: these officers and deputies are learning a new way to approach some of the emotionally charged situations they'll find on the street. in this role playing exercise, a woman learns her roommate is involved with her boyfriend. >> the officer said tell us what's going on. >> i'm upset. i can't believe she would do this. >> reporter: officers test out skills designed to calm the situation and gather information that will help the person in crisis. often someone with a mental health issue. >> danielle,ç i can see you ha cuts on your wrist. >> yeah, yeah.

conte police and deputies have a new place just besides the jail or hospital to take people in a mental health kroos is. i'll take you inside the brand new assessment center. this might make the university of tennessee's holiday party a little awkward. >> a post on the school's office of diversity and inclusion gave tips for employees to, quote, ensure the holiday party is not a christmas party in disguise. state and federal lawmakers have been quick to ridicule it. tennessee's lieutenant governor says the university chancellor should resign if he approved it. other tips outlined suggest not having any religious party games like secret santa or dreidel. it suggests not having specific food, drunks or decorations that may link to one religion. >> that's a lot of policy outlined there. >> that's a long post right there.
