considered a suspect in the shooting. also, isis has called the couple who carried out the attack, quote, supporters of the islamic state. but isis has not claimed responsibility. and we have learned that tashfeen malik posted a pledge of support to the isis leader on facebook around the time of the attack. right now, investigators are searching for a definitive link between the couple and any known terror groups. nbc's jay gray has the latest tonight from san bernardino. >> reporter: as the memorial grows outside the inland regional center, so does the terror investigation in san bernardino. >> the investigation so far has developed indications of radicalization by the killers and of potential inspiration by foreign terrorist organizations. >> today syed farook and tashfeen malik supporters hailed

them as martyrs but stopped short of claiming responsibility for the attack. >> we know that isil and other terrorist groups are encouraging people to commit terrible acts of violence, oftentimes as lone wolf actors. >> reporter: president obama continues to get daily briefings on the investigation that includes hundreds of federal agents across the globe searching for any contact farook or malik may have had with known terror organizations. >> shock, disbelief. >> reporter: while at home, family members say there were never any signs the couple was plotting the deadly rampage. >> no. not at all. i mean, i had absolutely no idea they were involved in anything like that. or that they were even capable of doing something like this. >> reporter: now federal agents want to know if they have had any help. while this grieving community searches for a way to heal. jay gray, nbc news, san bernardino. a call to arms from the president of liberty university

in listenburg, virginia. jerry fald well jr. told students at the christian school to carry concealed weapons. he spoke during a convocation friday, saying students should be ready if, they, quote -- if they show up here. one asked who he was referring to. fallwell said the muslims that carried out the attacks in paris and california. as you can imagine, this is causing an uproar. it is one of the top stories in our app and facebook page. fallwell jr. also said, quote, if anything, we need more people with conceal/carry permits. we've got more of what he said online, including why he says he started carrying a gun. tense moments in a small town outside of milwaukee today after a shooting at a motorcycle shop. someone walked in and started firing. police say about 30 shots were fired. an officer and another person in the bike shop were hurt. the shooting prompted a standoff and evacuation.

>> this was a very large operation, and we had to evacuate homes and make the scene safe for many people here, many of the residents in the area. >> that officer is okay. we just don't know the condition of the other person who was shot. police do have a suspect in custody, and say there is currently no threat to that community. here at home the montgomery county police officer hit by a car earlier this week is in critical condition. a suspected drunk driver hit officer noah leota during a traffic stop thursday night. he was standing outside his cruiser when a small suv ran into him on rockville pike. police say 47-year-old luis rolusko was behind the wheel. fairfax county police arrest a suspect last month in

alexandria. police credit two people who called in with a tip yesterday, alerting police of andre wilkins' whereabouts. wilkins now charged with malicious wounding. he is being held without bond. tragedy in prince george's county this morning. his camper caught fire. firefighters say when they got there, the trailer was just burning out of control. you see it here. once they put the fire out, they went inside and found the man dead. police and fire investigators are now trying to figure out what exactly happened. also in prince george's, a firefighter is okay after falling through the first floor of a burning home. this all happened just before 5:00 this morning in capitol heights. the home was vacant and fortunately no one was hurt. a woman died after flames tore through her southeast home early this morning. news4's derrick ward has the

planned parenthood is holding a national day of unity after last week's deadly shooting in colorado springs. supporters gathered at all souls church unitarian in northwest d.c. they prayed for the families of the three people killed in colorado springs. one planned parenthood employee at today's event wants to make sure women can get their services without the threat of violence or having to face protesters outside of facilities. >> our patients have a lot of barriers, a lot of issues already affecting them outside their reproductive health and so i'm just here to share about what they go through, walking through our doors and having to encounter the protesters before they even receive our services. >> police have not released an official motive in the colorado springs shooting. in falls church today,

community turned out to help with a coat drive and unity walk. boxes of supplies, coats and blankets were dropped off at the mosque. the donations will go to refugees in syria and iraq. last year, they collected more than 18,000 balloon blankets to ship to refugee families. a victory for motorists this week against towing companies on the prowl. president obama also signed legislation this week giving local governments the authority to regulate towing companies. maryland congressman, chris van holland says the legislation will end agreegregious. towing bans the practice of spotting, which involves staking out private parking lots and towing cars in the blink of an eye. a woman in the southeast was killed in a house fire early this morning. find out how fire crews are trying to raise fire safety

sky. right now, people living nearby have not been evacuated, but authorities there are warning everyone to stay away. the volcano in western mexico has been active over the past few months. a family in southeast d.c. won't have their mom this holiday season. she died after a fire ripped through her home early this morning. so today local fire crews worked hard to raise awareness about fire safety in the district. news4's derrick ward has that story. >> reporter: a woman died in this southeast d.c. fire early saturday. the cause is still being investigated, but this time of year, it's a busy season for fire departments. >> during the holiday season, there are a number of things that go on. people start using space heaters. people want to have christmas trees. >> reporter: and the dropping temperatures mean fireplaces are being fired up again, and highlights the need for detectors, prevention and worst case, scenario planning. >> do you have a fire safety plan? >> no. >> no?

>> reporter: the d.c. fire department and this home depot on rhode island avenue teamed up for safety. >> we actually provided local departments with over 200 smoke detects. >> reporter: they were giving them away, along with advice, like where best to place a smoke detector in a house or apartment's layout. >> i installed them myself, but the information they gave is helpful too. >> reporter: firefighters returned to the neighborhood, checking and installing smoke detectors in homes. what they're doing is so important, because sometimes just having a smoke detector isn't enough. after a certain time, after they're a certain age, sometimes they're not effective any more. after seven years or so, the components that make a detector work can degrade and render them ineffective even with regular checks and fresh batteries. >> we have one, but i don't think it was in good working order. >> reporter: older homes have a certain charm to them, but many were built under a different set of fire codes before mandatory sprinkler systems and fire breaks in the walls.

lunch time, a temperature around 50. a light jacket and fleece will be fine. sunglasses handy as well. 3:00 p.m., 56 degrees. and by 6:00, walking the dog, we're at a chilly 47. so probably a scarf and maybe some gloves at that point. again, your sunday outlook, whether you're getting the christmas tree, hanging the holiday lights or going to that holiday party, the weather is certainly cooperating. i felt so many people out there today getting their christmas tree, and what a spectacular day to do that. on monday, very similar. highs once again generally in the mid 50s. a mix of clouds and sun. i think we'll have a little bit more sunshine than clouds. breakfast is going to be chilly with temperatures around 39. by lunch, you could take a walk outdoors, get fresh air. temperature of 51. and by dinnertime, the chance of sprinkles, but that's mainly west of washington, especially back around the 81 corridor. if you're heading to the redskins game on monday as the cowboys visit town, we're talking about temperatures that will be in the 40s for that and, of course, the kickoff will be
