connection to our area. and new video of that fire where local firefighters got in a physical fight with each other. a push for criminal charges and a story you will only see on news 4. >> news 4 at 11:00 starts now. the lights are out in one local neighborhood tonight, the power still on, but all of the street lamps have been dark since september. neighbors on north cleveland street in arlington say they feel unsafe and they have been trying to get this fixed for months now. jackie explains the hold up. >> we have new information tonight that this is apparently much more complicated than just replacing a bulb, and to give you a feeling for how seriously dark it is right now, when you turn it off, this is what you get. brightened only by the

driving. and there is a call tonight for tougher enforcement of dui laws. right now the maximum penalty for killing someone while driving intoxicated is ten years but few ever get the max. also experts say, surviving families often fall on financial hardship because maryland laws don't allow victims to sue the person or business that over serves a drunk driver. >> it is very unfortunate that we had to lose an officer, but maybe this will make the senator and delegates step up we're done with this, we're tired of it and we want to see these laws. >> they will try to convince lawmakers to change state law. >> also new tonight, two people are dead after a small plane crashed in laurel, pennsylvania. one person did survive the crash

and was flown to a pittsburgh burn t(center. according to the tale number, the plane is owned by a montgomery county resident. we will follow the story throughout the weekend and push out outdays on our nbc news app. and police are helping figure out if a mosque was intentionally set on fire in cochella. members of the mosque say many people were arriving for afternoon prayer and it could have been much worse. it is a little more than an hour away from san bernardino where divers today were back in the lake looking for evidence for last week's shooting. they are not saying exactly what they're looking for, but sources

say that divers are looking for a hard drive and other information that the shooters may have dumped on the day of the attack. who is going to complain about the weather when we are in the 60s and approaching the 70 degree mark in mississippi decembe -- mid december. the high temperature was 66 in dc. the record high today was 68. only two degrees shy of a record. now one thing that could stop us from getting there is cloud cover, a lot ovk clouds tryingo stream over the region, we will see more clouds tomorrow, but even warmer temperatures for this weekend. we'll talk about the next chance for rain and then, if you're waiting for colder weather, finally turning cold, i'll show you when in my forecast. >> doug, thank you.

if you're a federal worker you'll have to work on christmas eve, but only part of the day. president obama signed an executive order making christmas eve a half day for the federal government. last year everyone got december 25th and 26th off. new video tonight shows the house fire where two female firefighters say they were assaulted. it is a story you will see only on news 4. at several points you see groups of firefighters near the front door. that is where the women tell us they were shoved by fellow firefighters and delayed the response to that blaze. it happened tuesday at a home and it appears the altercation amounts to a turf war. two firefighters say they were shoved and pushed off of a porch by a different station.

>> the union wants to see a thorough investigation. and if they are allegations in a are proven to be accurate, we would like to see disciplinary action. >> all four firefighters have been placed on desk duty now during the investigation whiegt there was a delay in the fire response, fire officials tell us it did not affect the outcome and no one was hurt in the fire. >> some dc firefighters expecting overtime payments today and they didn't get them. the firefighters union say payments from the big october settlement didn't go through today because of a calculation error. but the checks will be processed by the end of this month. mayor ubowser and the union endd a 14 year dispute on o.t. expect closing argument and jury deliberations next week in

the case of that baltimore police officer charged in freddy gray's death. the defense rested today. porter's family and friends told juries about his reputation for honesty. heé@ testified that he did note any injuries on gray when gray asked to go to the hospital. they say porter was negligent for failing to call a medic and for failing to buckle gray in the back of that police van. >> and a man charged with a murder for the death of his mother in the inside of their sta stafford county home. deputies got to the home, and they say ellis assaulted one of them. inside they found elizabeth ellis dead from blunt force trauma. elizabeth worked as a middle school teacher and then at the regional library in
