played out in front of a worldwide audience. news4 midday starts right now. just in, senator lindsey graham is dropping out of the presidential race. he posted a video today, just while ago saying he's proud of his campaign, but that this is just not his time. graham stayed at the bottom of the polls. today is the deadline to be removed from the gop primary ballot in senator graham's homestate of south carolina. also developing now, this man, francisco trujillo is charged with homicide in damascus. he shot another man inside a home. the victim had been invited to that home earlier in the day. the suspect is charged with first degree murder in the case. in landover, prince george's county police are looking for the gunman in a deadly shooting. a man was shot in an apartment

the attack. you may have been stuck in this morning's traffic. a dump struck caught fire. the on-ramp to i-95 was shut down. crews towed the truck away at 9:30 this morning. no one was seriously hurt. in the newsroom now, following a developing situation out in las vegas. a woman plowed into a crowded sidewalk on the strip killing someone. the new thing now, is that the woman is charged. she's charged with murder and child abuse. a 3-year-old was in her car. police say the woman repeatedly drove up on to the sidewalk near the paris, las vegas and planet hollywood hotels. we don't know anything quite yet about the person who was killed. 26 people, though, hurt. right now three of them are in critical condition. barbara? thank you. nasa astronauts took a walk in space today. two american astronauts went outside the international space

washington. we just finished a news conference from a group called the u.s. council of muslim organizations. they held a conference this weekend in northern virginia. it was aimed at fighting a wave of islamphobia and violence in the nation this comes on the heels of the attacks in france and also in san bernardino. there is some serious concern that they're seeing a ramp up of this in the days following the attacks. they announced they will launch a one america campaign, including a voter drive. trying to get 1 million voters registered. they'll have a national open

new details in a classroom stabbing. baltimore police say the teenager who was attacked last month died overnight. the 17-year-old arrested could face severe charges, more charges by the end of the day. police say it's not clear what prompted the stabbing at remembnaissance academy high sc. a resource officer said he was aware of confrontations between the two teens in the past. president jimmy carter and his wife are in mourning. their grandson died the other night.
