here are some of the stories we're working on right now at 4:15. virginia's attorney general delivers a blow to gun rights supporters. we're going to explain the new concealed gun policy. coming up. and why a man from maryland is back in court at this hour charged with attempting to help isis. so this presidential election is unlike any other. the leading democratic candidate is a woman, and leading republican is donald trump. >> yeah, chris matthews is host of "hardball" on msnbc. tonight he's premiering a documentary on donald trump. so obviously this guy has not had to spend barely a dime to get the publicity he needs. a lot of people are going to ask, does he need more? why do a documentary? >> first of all, he's the leading republican candidate for president in a year there's an open presidential seat. he has potentially a 50/50 shot at this job. people don't -- mostly what we cover in the news is what we said ten minutes ago. it's always about this thing he said about whatever. all that stuff. it's always awful.
4:16 pm
but i wanted to talk about why we know the brand. how come we know who the guy is, how come he's a figure in everybody's head? and he's 70 years old bracketicallbracket ical practically. i wanted to show the good, bad the ugly. there's an ethic piece what he does, the way he goes after obama, all the stuff he says about him being from africa. no doubt a racial piece to that. there's a class thing going on with the working guy out there. this guy's like a sinatra of real estate. the guy has the girls, he has the flash. the good lifestyle. the big buildings. the gold. he's got everything the average guy out there would like to have. so he's a figure. but it's a lot of this, bankruptcies, lots of them. stuff about the serial marriages, we all know about that. the best sex i ever had kind of headlines. all that stuff. crazy. but there's also the successes in business. they wanted to show was bottom line, he deals with a mob in new york probably, because i've heard you have to. he deals with the labor unions in new york, deals with the local politicians and gets buildings put up.
4:17 pm
he gets it done. time after time after time, he gets it done, the job. he is worth billions. >> you're saying this guy is a brand, of course, and an iconoclast. any insights or anything that's going to surprise us in this documentary? >> the sense of the skepticism i hear from both of you, i think it's very appropriate about this guy, it's been part of his story from the beginning. does he really have that kind of money? we get into that. does he really? is he really going to succeed? constantly asking is this guy for real? >> right. >> so the questions we have -- he's almost like a cartoon character. a comic book figure meaning, like, if you had an old superman comic book, there would be a guy in there with a khaki trench coat downtown development er do trump with the hair and everything. he'd be a character in that. i call this "citizen trump" because it's like "citizen cane" the movie. a big guy with lots of flaws. >> when you were digging into this doing this documentary, did you get a sense this persona,
4:18 pm
this brand of trump sort of came about or is this something donald trump tried to go out and build? >> he put that name, he stamped it on every building. a lot of people in new york like to go to nightclubs, where do you live, i live in trump tower, trump plaza, trump international. they like that name. remember it used to be the shuttle coming back and forth to new york. i think people like, i guess you'd call it in a sinatra way, class. it's class. it's not really class, but it's class. >> it's vegas class. >> it's vegas -- exactly, wendy. to a lot of people that have worked hard to get money, it's new money for them. i'm sure the old money people look down on him. to most people it's like, hey, you know, if i had billions of dollars i'd have melania as my wife maybe and i'd have hotels and all this gold. it's a story of mixed everything. you can come out of this tonight after an hour of this and go, that guy's a skunk or come out saying, you know what, he is pretty impressive. or i really don't know.
4:19 pm
>> yeah. >> i think you're going to know -- i say to people, you come out of this tonight you're going do be able to get in every barroom argument and know more than the other guy. you'll know more about trump than anybody else knows. >> "citizen trump" with chris matthews. >> by the way, i'm waiting to hear what he says. ten minutes in we'll get the first tweet. i don't know. >> if it lasts 15, i'd be shocked. >> you think he'll get in early, huh? >> that's at 7:00. thank you, chris. >> thank you, wendy rieger. >> yeah, tonight's documentary, "citizen trump" airs at 7:00 right here on msnbc. all right. first at 4:00, a drug bust in loudoun county. police pulled over a rental truck near old rock route in sterling yesterday morning. found 186 pounds of marijuana worth nearly $1 million. the driver's name is brian a.ni he's being held without bond. he had just picked up the package of drugs before the bust. the dea and loudoun county sheriff's tactical enforcement unit worked together to try to

initiate that traffic stop. and now your storm team 4 forecast. >> as you know that forecast a very warm forecast, a very wet forecast, and maybe a very foggy forecast as well. let's take a look outside right now. no rain but the clouds, they have stuck with us all day and normally on a cloudy day in the wentinter the first day of wint you're thinking the clouds will make things kind of cold. that's not the case. 58 degrees. the reason? the south wind. they continue. look to the temperatures down to the south and west. 63 winchester. 66 in stanton, virginia. so some very warm temperatures out here. this is, of course, the first day of winter. that's why we have amelia siegel out in the storm team 4 silver springs what do you do on the first day of winter? you go ice skating. amelia? >> reporter: exactly, doug, but on this first day of winter you go ice skate in sweatshirt or maybe a t-shirt. as you can see the downtown ice rink here in silver spring behind us people enjoying this first day of winter.

4:22 pm
we'll see more from the south and west. by tomorrow morning, 7:00 a.m., notice the rain across parts of the region. not only the rain, though, fog is going to be a major issue tomorrow morning in some locations. maybe some dense fog. the rain from frederick down toward culpeper, down toward orange. around 11:00, see heavier showers moving on through. we may get a little break but then the even heavier rain moves through around 4:00, 5:00. back to the west and then in the metro region around 6:00, 6:30 tomorrow afternoon's rush is going to be a problem. that's why we have tomorrow as a weather alert day here at storm team 4. we do expect tomorrow to have a major impact on your day weather wise and this is really the reason why. 5:00 to 8:00 a.m. it's the fog. temperatures around 56 degrees. not only that, we could see rain moving in. heavy rain between 4:00 and 7:00. temperatures, though, look a those numbers into the mid 60s. we talk about those numbers. we mentioned the fact that we're talking about some records. 75 degrees on your thursday. 75 would shatter the old record of 69 degrees. on friday, we're close to a record. the record high is 72 degrees.
