low visibilities and drizzle outside. places in the shenandoah valley could actually have a little freezing drizzle. we'll break down the friday and the weekend forecast coming right up. >> dramatic video as a woman is pulled off a united airlines flight. what she's doing that forced an emergency landing. yes, indeed, your weather deadlines are going to be. mist and drizzle. a chance for light rain showers. heaviest rain will be saturday night and a big chain shows up and a lot of wind. rain will be over for the playoff game but then turning into a strong north wind. temperatures will drop some 20 degrees between noon and 8:00 p.m. on sunday. so be ready for a big drop in temperatures. first thing this morning though. we'll dealing with fog. zero visibility in luray, a mile in manassas.

reduced visibility this morning and temperatures are upper 30s around town but closer to freezing in the shenandoah valley. we'll be staying in the low to mid-40s for high temperatures tornado. we'll break it down in ten minutes. here's melissa now. >> good morning. brand-new problem in the franconia area. take a look at this. queens road at the highway. you can still get around. 95 here at the boulevard, northbound, southbound, don't have any big problems. you kind of see that fog hanging around. westbound 610 at 95. left lane still blocked. the tow truck should be there by now. 66 headed into town. it's going to take you ten minutes. no major problems. travel times in ten minutes as well. >> thanks, melissa. a prince william county high school is taking extra security precautions today. more police will be out at woodbridge in response to two recent threats. the district wants to get to the bottom of it.

megan mcgrath with what kind of threats that were found. meg p? >> this might be some idea of a prank and police are not amuse and they take this sort of thing very seriously. app investigation is under way. both threats were written on walls. one was discredited. it appears to be a hoax. the second, the investigation is under way. a third written on a wall says the school will be shot and gave a specific time frame. police will be called when a similar message was found inside the school. now, in a statement posted on facebook, the school system said pwcs is working clois with police to investigate and above all ensure the safety of students and staff. the community will be advised if police determine there is any credibility threat or need for specific precautions. we take this very seriously. it's unclear if the same person

is behind both of these messages scrawled on walls inside the school. school efficients saying if they find out who's responsible. that person will be punished. back to you in the studio. >> megan. thank you. :03. viping overnight, barricade situation in annapolis is over. we brought you breaking news when the police said a man was holed up in an apartment building on madison street. they evacuated the building and then said they had a suspect in custody a few hours later wchl're told there was never any threat to the public. new picture's f man wanted for an attack on the metro. take a look. police have been looking for him since tuesday night's stabbing. a report that he cut a passenger's ear during a yellow line train. violent incidents like that one are the reasons there will be extra precautions on the metro's red line. throughout the weekend you may notice a group of safety

yeah, you just heard the place there. it's new this morning after security officials carried a woman off a united airlines flight. united said she attacked several passengers last night after that plane took off from new york. the plane made an emergency landing in detroit and then continued on to chicago o'hare. there are reports that the woman may have had mental health issues. maryland police are investigating a serious crash that happened on interstate 70. police say a car crashed into a

tow truck as the driver was working. the tow truck driver is in the hospital now with very serious injuries. the other driver is expected to be okay. still no word on any possible charges. >> if you look closely at the top of this garbage truck here, you can see firefighters in california saving a homeless man who was trapped inside. the man was sleeping in the dumpster when the waste management made its run. the driver made four stops before hearing the man screaming. the trash compacter in the truck is run at every stop. the officials didn't say how badly the man was hurt. unbelievable. good morning, everybody. i'm "storm team 4" meteorologist chuck t. bell. outside from our tower you can see a little bit of fogginess. thicker fog in the blue ridge and parts of the shenandoah valley. some of that fog could be freezing. keep in mind for that. in and around town, temperatures

philadelphia's police commissioner said somebody tried to execute one of his officers. just before midnight a suspect walked up to a police car, got as close as the passenger side window, an then started firing. 13 shots into the vehicle. the officer inside, 33-year-old jesse hartnet was hit but miraculously is doing oklahoma. he was able to return fire. the police got their hands on the guy, took him into custody. the commissioner calling this one of the scariest things he's ever seen. back to you. >> i bet. erika, thank you. it's 6:16. police in paris are trying to finding the true identity of the man who attacked the police station. the man was shot dead on the anniversary of the "charlie

hebdo" attacks. police say he was carrying butcher knife and fake explosives vest. they're clearing out data that says he may be ptahitian or moroccan. a suicide bomber drove his motorcycle into their patrol and set off explosives. tom's mother and brother live in our area and run a restaurant in dupont circle. a former federal employee will spend three years in prison after he admitted to making meth in a federal lab. chris bartley worked as a police chief. he caused an explosion on the campus while trying to cook meth last year. he told the court he made a serious error in judgment. he reports to prison march 1st. today the new trial date set for police officers charged in the death of freddie gray will be formally approved in

baltimore. trial dates for sergeant alicia white and officer garrett mill very been pushed back. white's trial is now rescheduled for february. miller's trial is now moved to march.p$$ñ freddie gray suffered a fatal neck injury last year after being arrested by baltimore police. teachers and parents held a rally last night to show their support for the kickoff of the battle of the budget. ♪ now, the district is facing a budget deficit that will require major cuts in programs and fee increases for student activities. for the past nine years the district has had to scale back on spending. at a meeting last night the district superintendent says she's done cutting budgets. she wants smaller class sizes and better pay for teachers. she says it's nonnegotiable. >> we're losing a great teachers to other surrounding jurisdictions. unheard of in fairfax county. >> superintendent garza says it will be tragic if the budget is

not fully funded. the board will make its final decision in april. 6:19 now. to a developing story. it is a no for the group of oregon protesters. group leader eamon bundy told the sheriff they're not leaving the federally owned land they've been occupied for days. the sheriff asked the arm protesters to leave peacefully and offered them a safe escort out. they agreed to disagree by shaking hands. bundy has told reporters bundy will leave when there is a plan in place to turn over federal lands to locals. there is a new warning in takoma park about carjackings. the police chief says there's been a recent crime surge across the borders. they're not helping the situation either. the chief says newer cars are harder to steal, so crooks are trying to take cars directly from drivers tachl coma park police are working with d. krchl and prince george's county police to crack down. a mother and her baby girl are healthy and safe thanks to

we'll see you back here at 6:31 with the live look at 270. >> thanks, melissa. a new speed sign is confusing drivers along a busy stretch in montgomery county. take a look. the sign on wisconsin avenue reads 15 miles an hour it's work zone and threatens a higher fine, but the next sign shows the usual 35-mile-per-hour sign. police say the 15-mile-per-hour sign is not a county sign so they're not enforcing it. the crews with the gas services there tell us the sign makes them feel safer. >> our safety is priority first. those coming out of the work zone, they're over 35 or so. >> the pipeline doing the work did not respond to "news4's" messages about the sign. 6:25. after yoo ore some of of the lowest gas prices in a long time, they're even lower now. here's what you're paying right now in d.c. you thought i was going go the

into our newsroom, if you've got a student that attends any one of the 11 warren county public school campuses, you're on a two-hour delay. we just got this information two minutes ago. warren county sending a tweet out. again, if you've got a student at warren county schools, you've got a two-hour delay. back to you. yeah, the weather is the reason for that delay out there in warren county. temperatures are near 40 around the metro area, but look how much colder it is in shenandoah valley. 28 in luray. wand a thick fog out here, the dense fog advisory now goes to 9:00 for page and warren county, but the combination of the thick fog and temperatures below freezing could causize i.c.e..yness along the handrails. use extreme caution out there. complete check of a colder forecast at 7:51. >> still have police out there. eastbound randolph road. what they're telling us is it

those handrails might have glazing ice on them. the seven-day forecast coming up. a little slow in randolph county. and in prince george's at metze . >> megan mcgrath is live with what school leaders are worrying about. megan, good morning. >> reporter: aaron, whether this is considered or intended to be a prank or not, police are not amused and they're taking this very, very seriously as or school officials. an investigation is under way and they're trying to fit out who is behind the threatening messages. there were two threats written on walls inside woodbridge high school. now the first threat said the

school will be shot and gave a time frame and then a similar threat was written on the wall inside the school. it's possible that students today could see an increased police presence just as a precaution. the school system said they're working to investigate and above all ensure the safety of students and staff. they'll be advised if they determine there's any credible threat or need for special precautions. we take this very seriously. it's unclear if the same person wrote both of the threats or whether there are two people behind this. that's all part of the investigation. school officials, though, make it clear that if they find who is responsible who is responsibility, there will be repercussions. that person or those people will be punish. back to you. >> thank you. the map on the screen is wanted.
