joins us with that answer. >> that's just it, not only am i tracking dramatic temperatures but windy conditions. that will add an additional chill because of weather change happening right now. this will be the biggest weather change all week. storm 4 weather alert into early tomorrow morning. 39 degrees in cumberland and 55 degrees in washington. cold air continues to filter in from the north and west during the evening hours. a wind advisory in effect for counties here in beige, until 11:00 p.m. tonight. gusts there up to 50 miles an hour, maybe minor damage. this is what it's going to feel like this evening, feeling about 35 degrees at 8:00 and by 11:00 p.m., feeling about 30 degrees. what to wear tomorrow? the warm coat, the gloves and sunglasses as well. coming up in ten minutes, how cold with will feel as you head back to work and school in the morning. >> we've got breaking news on roads.

the problem but again, there's nothing wrong with it if you're playing for fun and there's always that dream you're going to be the next billionaire come wednesday night. >> thank you so much. we've got new details about that secret meeting in the mexican jungle between sean penn and mexican drug lord el chapo, "rolling stone" posted the interview. along with the famous mexican address, penn says guzman boasted he supplies more heroin and marijuana than anybody else in the world. mexican authorities captured guzman on friday. nbc news reached out to penn but he was unavailable for comment. a man shot friday night in the district has died. roger hagens from ft. washington passed away today. this makes d.c.'s second homicide of the year. he was shot in southeast but little else is known about the suspect or a motive in this

case. marijuana state troopers shot and killed a woman in her home this morning. they say she was pointing a weapon at them. this happened in rising sun in cecil county right on pennsylvania border. police say the woman called 911 around 2:00 a.m. to report an intruder. when troopers arrived, they heard screaming inside the home. they forced their way in and found the woman sitting in a chair. that's when police say they saw her raise what appeared to be a real gun. officers then shot and killed her. when police interviewed the woman's 15-year-old son he said before the shooting she told him where to find her personal information. troopers say there's evidence that the family was having financial difficulties. the gun turned out to be an air soft pistol. just about three weeks to the iowa caucuses and it's a tight primary race for gop and democratic presidential candidates. and as nbc's jennifer johnson shows us, a new poll shows it

could still be anybody's race to win. >> i hope i earn your caucus vote. >> democrats hillary clinton and bernie sanders are locked in tight races in both iowa and new hampshire. according to a new nbc news wall street journal maris poll. in iowa clinton leads sanders 48-45% and new hampshire, the vermont senator is ahead 50 to 46% and clinton is still attacking sander s for voting ad giving legal protection to gun manufacturers. >> senator sanders voted with them and through this morning unwilling to join the president and me in saying that this should be reappealed. sanders says now he's willing to take another look. >> when gun manufacturers, for example, are selling guns in an area and know that those guns are going into the hands of criminals, absolutely those gun manufacturers should be held accountable. >> clinton is dismissing donald trump's latest family attacks.

congress just voted to label genetically engineered salmon; why not other foods? gmo crops are doused with heavy doses of an herbicide the world health organization says probably causes cancer. isn't that reason enough to label? 64 other countries label gmos. why don't american shoppers have the same information? tell your senator, high tech gimmicks like qr codes aren't the answer. we need clear on-package labeling.

a major show of strength from the u.s. military today. the u.s. deployed a b-52 bomber on a low level flight over south korea. the flexing of muscle comes in response to north korea's nuclear test last week. joined by two fighter planes. kim jong-un claimed he tested a hydrogen bomb as self-defense against a potential u.s. threat. the international community condemned the nuclear test but u.s. officials don't believe north korea really tested an h bomb. a show of support today for a catholic church fired for being in a same-sex marriage. they held a silent protest outside the mass at the montgomery county church. derrick ward explains why the

few car horns. higgins has appealed the paster's decision to the archdiocese to no avail. the archdiocese of washington has released a statement in support of the pastor's decision and says in part, if someone chooses to live publicly in a manner incompatible with church teaching their work becomes untenable, end quote. a spokesperson suggests that he was fired not because he is gay but because of the church's nonrecognition of same-sex marriage. the position also reiterated in a blog from cardinal donald whorl. the small ban of protesters wasn't deterred and hope to exercise some influence on practice and hundreds of years of roman catholic teaching and tradition. >> derrick ward, news 4. the cardinal said if one persists or effectively insists they are right and the church is wrong, continued ministerial service is not possible.
