they're doing a spacewalk at about 8:00 this morning. it's the first ever spacewalk for a british astronaut. they're fixing a broken part and hooking up some cables. i'm megan mcgrath live at the national zoo where on saturday all eyes are going to be on the panda house. now, we've been watching him grow on those live panda cams, and last month he had his media debut. take a look at the video on that. well, come tomorrow, bei bei is going to be making his public debut. visitors will be able to go inside the began house for the first time since he was born and see the little guy in person. a lot of excitement. we're expecting a very large crowd at the national zoo on saturday as well as a long line to get inside the panda house. keep in mind 5,500 came to the zoo when sister bao bao made her debut two years ago. so we're expecting aot of folks to be here at the zoo. so if you're planning to come

crash in japan. it was carrying about 40 people to a ski resort when it went off a mountain and crashed. a northern virginia man is behind bar this morning charged with sexual battery on a child. david schwartz is accused of assaulting an 11-year-old girl. police say the child told her mother about the abu and she immediately contacted police. swartz was a family friend. parents express their outrage over the sexual assault of basketball players last month. the teams are charged with rape and sexual assault. the coaching staff is also accused of failing to report the incident. it is 5:23. today is business as useual at a day care center in arlington. a suspicious odor forced them to evacuate yesterday. officials say it was a natural gas leak and no one was hurt.

i'm megan mcgrath live at the national zoo where visitors are going to be able to see the baby began live at the zoo. a lot of excitement. he made his media debut last month. take a look at that event. absolutely adore aboutle. but tomorrow bei bei is going to make his public debut here at the national zoo. visitors are going to be able to go inside the panda house for the very first time since he was born and be seen in person. expect a very large crowd tomorrow as people line up to go inside the began house and take look for themselves. of course, pandas are a big deal in this town. and baby pandas, well, that just sends everybody over the top. expect large crowds. visitors came. bei bei's sister, bao bao, when she went on display, had her public debut. more than 5,500 people turned out. it is going to be crowded.

here are some tips if you plan on coming out this weekend. first the began house opens at 9:00 a.m. and will stay open until 4:00 a.m. you're going to want to use the asia trail entrance. that's the most convenient to the began house. the pandas typically have access to the outside of their exhibit area starting at 7:30 in the morning until 2:00 in the afternoon. keep in mind it's their choice. they can go in. they can go out. they also havelile areas that are off limits to the public. they can go there if they want to get away. it's up to the pandas what they're going to be doing. they're very active in the morning when it's feeding time, so that's always a good time to come out and take a look. but absolutely adorable. and bayei bei's getting bigger. 25 pounds. we can't wait to see him. unfortunate unfortunately, eun, the live cam is down so we can't get a dplims of him this morning. we'll have to wait until
