nra. >> he voted for what's called the charleston loop hope. he voted for it what the nra said was the most important piece of gun legislation in 20 years. >> the two sparred over the future of health care. it raises taxes on middle-class americans and shifts the country away from a health insurance system. clinton says we need to work with what we've got. >> i have to say i'm not sure whether we're talking about the plan you just intro tuesdayed tonight or you introduced nine times in the congress, but the fact is we have the affordable care act. >> we're not going to tear up the affordable care act. i helped write it. but we're going to move on top of that. >> well, the third person on stage was former maryland governor martin o'malley. he had to fight his way into the debate. in fact, we analyzed it. it showed o'malley had half the speaking time of each of the

thank you, meagan. school leaders are taking part in a community town hall meeting at 7:00 tonight at st. matthew's. police say none of the threats was credible. the muslim association of virginia is condemning terrorism and isis. their response comes after two men from woodbridge were arrested friday on terrorism charges. joseph farrokh was stopped at the airport. the friend who drove him to the airport also faces charges. >> i felt like real desperate trying to get the girl out because i felt like she was my family too. >> a heroic rescue in temple hills and an important reminder for all of us. he felt he needed to act when a young woman got trapped in her burning home yesterday morning. she was in the basement when the

fire started. he held off flames with a garden hose until firefighters pulled her out. >> when they brought her out, she started moving and coughing and they took her right away to the hospital. >> the woman had second degree burns over 40% of her body and also suffered from smoke inhalation. fire detectives say her smoke was not working and firefighters went door to door and found five more homes without working smoke detectors, and they installed new ones. there was a shoot-out in the middle of the neighborhood. it happened on providence street in northern stafford county yesterday. the sheriff's department believes at least 30 rounds were fired. no one was hurt. deputies have identified two people that were involved but they're looking for two others. it's 4:36 and new controversy over a decision in

virginia. he said he'll go against fellow republicans. he calls roche highly qualified and said she should stay on the bench. judge roche was temporarily apienltd appointed by governor terry mcauliffe. a decision is expected as early as this week. demolition work is scheduled to start today on the old "washington post" building. now, if you work or travel around d.c., this is going to impact your driem. it will be completely closed off for the next two and a half years. when construction is complete in 2018, it will be the new home of fannie mae. a major set back with rockets from space.

if you take a look at internet reviews. even those who were undecided democratic voters, most of them, all but two, leaned toward bernie sanders after this debate. >> interesting. now, this time around hillary clinton really aligned herself with president obama. >> no question about that. she mentioned his name over and over and over. she's clearly running on his record. so if you're the kind of democrat who thinks he's done a good job, you're leaning toward hillary clinton. if you're looking for improblemment, you're probably leaning toward bernie sanders. this applies to a number of issues including gun control, wall street. take a look at what we heard last night about wall street and the big money that is coming out of wall street to some of these candidates. >> can you really reform wall street when they are standing

hill this morning. tracie, thanks for your analysis. it's 4:47. today the british parliament is considering whether to ban presidential candidate donald trump. it surfaced last year after trump's proposal to ban all muslims from entering the u.s. prime minister dave cameron is against keeping trump out. some students are planning a demonstration. they believ donald trump should not have been invited to speak on martin luther king jr. day based on what they see as moral incompatibility between the words and actions of trump and king. jerry falwell says he does not think many students support the protest. a look at senator ted cruz, he has a multi-state bus tour.
