behind them. this happened in the northwestern part of the country at basha khan university. they entered and started firing at security guards, students. we learned that university officials were warned of a possible terror attack two weeks ago and they decided to up the security. this is an unfolding situation we'll continue to keep our eye on. eun? >> thank you, angie. a rescue mission to save 12 marines ended. two helicopters collided during a training mission last week. the u.s. coast guard now says it is conducting a recovery mission to find out what happened to them. the coast guard said the wreckage from the crash and all four life rafts from the helicopter but no signs of survivors. today there's a status hearing for ingmar guandique. he is accused of killing intern

shonn dra levy. a northern virginia man accused of traveling abroad will have a bond hearing tomorrow. he tried to board a flight to chicago. they say his final destination was syria. the 25-year-old was also arrested for aiding faroque. today d.c. mayor muriel bowser will let you know the district's snow plan ahead of this weekend's storm. >> we are having a preliminary discussion about what residents should do on their own property and what actually the law allows. >> at 10:30 this morning the mayor will also hand out more than 2,000 shovels to the 5le÷cs resident snow teams. those are volunteers who shovel for the elderly and disabled neighbors. this year they have 14 new salt

sergeant alicia white, edward near row, garrett miller and brian rice. they want to call william porter to testify in all cases. white is trying to block that. porter's trial ended with a hung jury. while some of baltimore's police officers stand trial, they'll launch a body camera program. it will take two years to equip all officers. today the man accused in a deadly stabbing at a religious retreat is back in court. hang suh kim is accused of stabbing a man from south korea during the retreat last year. during today's hearing the judge will reveal the findings from a mental health evaluation. kim has pled he was not criminally responsible for the stabbing. the man accused of hitting 7

people with his car in d.c. on new year's day faces a judge today. they say he was drunk when he jumped a sidewalk and hit a pole on january first. he's accused of dui and leaving the scene. he will be in court for a is the tus hearing. there is a new push to crack down on repeat offenders in the neighborhood. one neighborhood held a bake sale. they wanted to know how many people were being prosecuted. they say those records don't exist and it doesn't dwaer that information. at an anc meeting, muriel bowser introduced a new anti-robbery concern. >> the chief of police and i also announced with the u.s. attorney a task force focused on on robbery. the task force will allow d.c. police to highlight it.

they say they will appeal the decision of the department of justice. it is now 4:36. today we expect to learn more about governor larry hogan's 2017 budget. last week the governor proposed modest tax cuts for senior citizens, low income families and some manufacturing businesses. the soekt of budget and management could explain how the state will pay for the tax cuts when he holds a briefing in annapolis. they'll vote on whether to overturn some of hogan's vetoes. one bill will allow felons to register to vote. another will give $2 billion to renovating an anne arundel apartment building. and the hotel tax will go up for the price of a room. a d.c. council member wants to give students more digital privacy. david grasso will ask them to support a new bill. this will help americans take

new video this morning of a weekend attack on a cafe and hotel in burkina faso. they stormed the hotel firing on pat trons before moving across the street firing on aho tell where hostages were held for hours. one american was among thewóqhñ killed in the west african country. an auditor found they can't keep employees from getting access to files in the department of youth rehabilitation services. it also comes one week after a former agency employee pled guilty to handing out youth information to an identity theft ring. coming up on 4:41.

front-runner donald trump at a rally in iowa last night. the 2006 vice presidential nominee described trump as the anti-establishment candidate in a glowing endorsement. a year from today around noon it will all be over. america will welcome the 45th president. the big question, will sarah palin's endorsement be enough? >> reporter: eun, good morning. to answer the question, it could certainly draw for donald trump some particular constituencies within the republican party where he's not as popular. evangelicals, women, people like sarah palin, they may tend then to flow to donald trump. despite all the trump/palin love that we're seeing, the question is raised is whether or not this is sort of a snub at ted cruz. ted cruz was supported by sarah

could be sunday afternoon before things really recover. the guidance is changing a little bit but remains very, very consistent through all of this. here's your seven day forecast. be ready, everybody. flurries today. dry tomorrow. get things done friday night into saturday looks like it could be the worst of it. could get a foot of snow saturday alone with winds between 30 and 50 miles per hour. it will be full out blizzard conditions on saturday. travel will be virtually impossible. the city will be all but shut down. things improve a little bit sunday and quieter after. this will be one heck of a wallop. start putting a snow forecast. so many things to do. melissa mollet. how's traffic this morning. >> you are going to be a busy man this morning. couple of problems right now. have this tractor-trailer crash impacting both ways there on 7 here this morning. westbound at fairfax county, all lanes blocked there. you have to use the ramps to continue westbound on 7.

4:56 now. if you're just joining us, we're following breaking news in prince gorges county. that's where police are on the scene of a homicide investigation. news 4's molette green is just pulling up. the family of a local boy is suing a local group home over allegations of sexual abuse. they say the teenager was assaulted in the bathroom at the escape theater. the alleged attacker was a resident of the group home.

the facility was responsible for supervising the man but allowed him to use the restroom without an escort. we spoke with the teen's mom at a press conference. we're not naming the woman to protect the identity of the victim. >> i asked him, did you touch -- did you touch my nephew and he said yes? yes, i did. >> what he did was improper. what he did was wrong. what he did was criminal. >> compass rehabilitation group home declined to speak with news 4 about these allegations. the prince gorges county prosecutor's office will decide whether he should face charges. the national cancer center says the 10 year cancer survival rate is at 58.2%. the 5-year rate is at 63.1%. thousands of cases were surveyed between 1999 and 2002. this is the first time a large number of cases were used to track the ten year survival rate. >> today the mayor of flint
