a metro station in prince george's county. and news 4 is in iowa with brand new poll numbers on the presidential race. news 4 at 11:00 begins with breaking news. >> we have a sad update to a story we told you about on news 4 at 6:00. the 13-year-old virginia girl kidnapped earlier this week is dead. she went missing from home home wednesday night, investigators found her remains this afternoon in north carolina. her suspected abductor lives in our region, david eisenhower is now charged with murder. this morning, police arrested the 18-year-old on the virginia tech campus where he's a freshman. he's now been suspended from school. police have not disclosed the relationship between the two of them, ison hour is from columbia, maryland. police in maryland, trying to find out who shot a man to death near a addison row metro station, tonight, there are more

questions than answers. our news 4 is trying to find more for us. darcy, tell us about what you're learning tonight. >> reporter: well, erika, detectives wrapped up their investigation late tonight. you can see this is addison road south here behind me. it has been completely reopened. this is the metro station here. it happened very close to there, and tonight police are still trying to figure out who pulled a trigger and why. investigators worked well into the night searching for and collecting evidence in a wooded area, behind a boarded up home on addison road south in capital heights. it's where a man was found shot in broad daylight. >> that victim was transported to a local hospital in grave condition where he was pronounced dead shortly thereafter. >> reporter: a police officer around 3:30 in the afternoon and took him to the victim. police taped off a large section

night. she's only 11 years old. destiny was last seen on alabama avenue near 15th place in southeast. she was wearing a dark and light blue jacket, orange shirt, and camouflage pants. new tonight, a firefighter took a serious fall bat american league house fire tonight in tacoma park, maryland, it started at 9:00. montgomery county fire officials say one of the firefighters fell through the first floor into the basement, but was able to get himself out. more than 75 firefighters finally put the flames out, but it's not clear what exactly started that fire in the first place. a new development in the debalt over increasing d.c.'s minimum wage, why a judge just placed the ballot measure on hold. and a major show of support for a local man who lost his life just feet away from a fire station. tonight his loved ones are

the blizzard caused major damage to the ice at the potomac curling club in laurel. a pipe burst creating a giant hole in the ice. this happened in the middle of the curling season. this forced themle to close. it's going to be a labor intensive and costly clean-up effort. they're trying to get it done before a big tournament in just about a week. meeting to discuss cancelling a required party affiliation statement for the march first gop presidential primary in virginia is now on

hold. in an about face today, the gop state central committee decided it didn't want to require voters to sign a loyalty oath, but the party must get the change approved by the state board of election. that emergency meeting was planned for tomorrow, but has been postponed. absentee voters have already been required to sign the pledge. d.c. voters may not get to decide whether the city should raise the min pulmowage to $15 an hour. friday ruling from a district judge put the ballot proposal in limbo because the judge ruled the board members term had expired. the d.c. board of elections tells news 4 it expects a formal, written ruling from the judge early next week. the board will appeal the judge's decision and ask for a stay to keep the ordered from going into effect. there will be a lot of melting this week, but with rain in the forecast, that could lead to flooding concerns. amelia's got the latest timing on rain chances coming up. a mother and her seven month old somehow, miraculously

new tonight, a mom and her seven month old child are miraculously okay after a car hit them at full speed in argentina. security cameras captured the collision. we do want to warn you, it is very graphic. police were chasing a car that they say two teens had stolen. well the car suddenly drives off the road, barrels right into the mom and her child.

both are flung into the air. the child lands on the ground, the mother on the carhood before fallinged to the ground as well. police arrested the thief after the car hit another vehicle and came to a stop again. mom and baby, miraculously are in fact okay. new tonight, the family of a man who died just feet from a d.c. fire station want to make sure no one suffers the same fate as their father. they held a vigil today. 77-year-old junior died two years ago this month. firefighters refused help for mills. they said 911 needed to be called before they could respond. the mills say similar incidents still happen to this day, and it needs to stop. >> when acting goes out looking at the camera or looking at the news tv, and saying, again, again? >> how many more times does this have to happen, guys?

you have a brand new fire chief and it's still happening. sop obviously the changing of chief didn't change the culture. >> the mills are suing the district, but it's not clear whether the suit will stand because of d.c. law does not allow residents to sue the city for negligence by their employees. you've been watching this story on the nbc washington app, one company reached tout offer a job after the hotel she worked at suddenly fired her for not making it to work after the blizzard. the woman worked at the hampton inn and suites. she says she was told to be on standby last weekend, but she says, she was snowed into her subdivision. she says the hotel promised to pick her up with a big truck, but nobody came. her son called the hotel on sunday. >> translator: i'm sorry, but she's without a job now. >> she says she worked at the

through the area, this could lead to some flooding concerns. more on that in a moment, but right now, look at temperatures across the area. kind of of a wide range from 40 degrees in washington to a chilly 29 degrees in baltimore, still holding at 39 and leesburg holding at 37 degrees. some icy spots tomorrow morning, especially in more rural locations, but really not a huge issue in the d.c. metro area with the temperature at 7:00 a.m. above freezing at 36 degrees. by the midday hours, we're near 50, 48 at that point. partly sunny skies. we hit our high of 55 around 3:00 in the afternoon tomorrow evening, keeping it dry, and temperature of 52. see your weather impact for tomorrow, to want go for a walk, take the dog out. mainly walking through muddles versus ice or that slushy snow. heading to the slopes, looking like great conditions and also good day to get the car washed, know you'll likely be dealing with rain own monday and definitely dealing with rain own wednesday. now, monday high temperature

around 60 degrees. the guys become mostly cloudy throughout the day, and it's looking like rain showers around during the second half of the day for the afternoon and evening hours. that could have a bit of an impact on the evening commute, but we're generally looking at very light rain. tuesday, ground hog day, high temperature of 50 degrees. so cooler, partly sunny skies. wednesday, dealing with rain pretty much from start to finish. the heaviest rain looks to be with us during the second half of the day. anywhere from about a half of an inch to near an inch of rain is possible, and that's combined with snow melt could lead to flooding concerns. the other concern would be if snow is still blocking storm drains. that could lead to flooding issues. and 40s erika for thursday, friday, and saturday. >> thanks amelia. wild night in houston where the wizards face the rockets.
