we are following a developing story overseas where investigators in somalia are trying to find out what caused a mid-air explosion in a jet. left a hole inside the aircraft and one passenger is still missing. here is nbc's kier simmons. >> reporter: the airline was still climbing when a hole was blown in the fuselage. how it happened is a mystery. passengers may not have survived if the plane had been at a higher altitude than 12,000 feet. officials confirmed one passenger is missing. witnesses say he was sucked out of the plane. pictures suggest the skin of the airbus 321 was blown outward, indicating an explosion from inside. passengers describe seeing smoke. >> i just saw white smoke.

governor rick scott declared a health emergency in four counties after at least nine cases of the virus were found. health officials say people traveling to affected countries contracted the mosquito-born illness. back home a virginia mother who contracted the virus has a warning for other moms. in november she came down with symptoms of the virus including joint pain and a rash. doctors say this mother of three has the first reported case in virginia. she stopped sharing drinks and food with friends and family. >> began with just a swollen lymph node which tipped me off something was coming and progressed to body aches and a really weird rash and joint pain. >> baker is urging mothers-to-be
