forecaster, live on the rain/snow line for a winter because these are tricky events. the storm that we missed out on is just off the delaware coast right now. that will be bringing some significant snow up to boston would i later on today. so if you're traveling northbound towards new york and boston, be ready for delays there. our weather worries, though, are coming in from the west. a little alberta clipper out here. and these are not tending to be big amounts of moisture, but it will be the timing that could be problem the maati problematic. so winter storm watches have been posted for northern montgomery, howard, an a ranne arundel county. i think i expect more advisories over the next 24 hours. it will start at rain and changing to snow after midnight. 3 to 6 inches north and west, probably 1 to 3 around town. temperatures right now, we're mostly in the low to mid thir-3.

today's highs about 44 in washington, 41 in gaithersburg. so that's not the issue. here's where things get trickier is after about lunchtime today, clouds thicken up quickly. chances for rain drops. this is 6:00 this evening. this should start at rain. anytime you have to switch it from rain to snow and then arriving having it switch back from snow to rain dug the daylight hours tomorrow, that will wreak havoc with forecasting. closer to 3 to 6 north and west, 1 to 3 around town and less than 2 down to the south. s so here is official map once again. it will be impactful on schools address plans for the next couple of days. so rain today, overnight tonight into snow, snow off and on through much of the day tomorrow, but again,
