shoot-out with police. he had a long history of violence. ex-wife was the one who saw him inside the restaurant and called police. 4:50 right now. baltimore court refuses to postpone the trials of three officers charged in freddie gray's death. but there is still a lot of uncertainty surrounding this case. maryland's court of appeals has been asked to review the cases of five officers whose trials could hinge on whether a sixth officer can be forced to testify against them. a circuit court judge has ruled that officer william porter must testify against two officers. porter has appealed. lab tests show that remains found in manassas are human. they were found in the woods near barrett drive on january 13th. police say the victim is a man, but no other information is being released. in just a few hours we'll find out about a new plan to boost jobs in the district. mayor muriel bowser is

she's also announcing changes within d.c.'s workforce investment council. that group is responsible for advising the mayor and the strict council on new ways to invest in job training and development. mayor bowser is releasing details at 11:00 this morning. and a heated debate at last night's city council meeting in d.c. has many people argued for and against paid family leave. it was so crowd that people were pushed into an overflow room. the #paid leave to d.c. also trended on twitter. officials are considering a proposal to give people who work in the district 12 weeks paid time off to have a baeby. residents are sharing stories. >> i went from the hospital to work back to the hospital. simply put, when my mom needed me the most, i shouldn't have been forced to choose between working and taking care of her. >> to pay for it, d.c. would

from and on duty d.c. firefighter who also happens to be the child's aunt. a report claims the firefighter went around the normal 911 call system by calling a supervisor directly. police have not released anymore details about how that child died. this morning we are waiting to get a look at the department of transportation's latest travel report card. it will detail all the numbers from december including flight delays, tarmac times and how many bags were mishandled. the agency is also expected to release the full stats for all of 2015. president obama is set to nominate dr. john king jr. to serve as education secretary. he's been acting secretary since arne duncan stepped down. before that he was new york's education commissioner. law makers are expected to give king's nomination speedy decision because congress wants to see the new education law that has strong bipartisan support implemented. we're working to change minds here at news 4 with a new class y
