someone from the taliban. take a look at snow that's coming up. more on the developing story out of prince william county. as we mentioned earlier, lockdown lifted at four prince georges county schools. duvall high school, the guard school, and two others all back open after being locked down for an hour. the shooting didn't happen at any of the schools. it was actually near a bus stop in the 9900 block of glenham. the shooting appeared to be random. they say they're investigating, but the good news is in the last five minutes or so, we learned that police have reopened greenbelt road as well as aerospace road. mclain high sol

an ongoing miss investigatiinve forcing that closure. all students are said to be safe. we are finding out new information of that man charged with killing his wife and the prince william county police officer. ron hamilton was in court twice today. derek is live at the courthouse in manassas and can tell us what happened. good mortgage. >> reporter: good morning again. well, he did, indeed, make his appearance before a judge today albeit a two-way video conference from the lockup where he continues to be held without bond. friends of crystal hamilton, robert hamilton's wife, they want to make sure her death is not overshadowed by the death of the police officer and the wounding of two others. she had actually called 911 to report a domestic incident. it brought officers to the house, and court documents revealed that when those officers arrived,mi

door and opened fire on them, of course, killing offer ashley gwindon and wounding officers dave hewitt. they took this opportunity to point out the dangers of domestic violence, dangers that became all too evident in a case like this. >> domestic violence is terrible no matter whether law enforcement is part of it or not. >> reporter: and as we said, there were two hearings today. one was on that charge of first-degree murder regarding the killing of crystal hamilton, the other was on the capital murder charge that involved the killing of the police officer and the wounding of the two other officers. something that came out in court was that hamilton did indeed tell police -- he admitted to shooting the officers and his wife. and something else that came out today was that he has a prior assault conviction from

he was able to go through what's called a diversion program and have those charges set aside. now, he's due back in court on april 18 and 19. the capital murder charge carries a possibility of a death penalty. the commonwealth attorney has not said that he would definitely pursue that, but it's not off the table. we are live in manassas, news4. back to you. right now police officers are recovering in maryland. they have all been released from the hospital after a fight with a man in aberdeen. according to the aberdeen police department, this man tried to run away when the officers pulled the car over this morning. he was in the backseat. police say he tried to throw drugs out of the window, and the two officers were hurt when they fought with him. a third officer was injured in an accident on his way to the scene. i'm angie goff here at the live desk. right now we do want to take you to the white house where a navy s.e.a.l. is about to receive the

uva student pleading for his release in north korea. north korea held this media event today. after the event, he said he tried to steal a political banner. he also said he was manipulated by the american government in what was, quote, a hostile act against north korea. a tragic story now in ohio. a pastor there was murdered inside his church, and police say his brother did it. it happened in dayton, ohio yesterday. dayton police say they have the pastor's brother in custody now. they are working to find out what the motive for the killing might have been. five ku klux klan members are out of jail this morning after a brawl outside an anti-gun rally. police say the members marched toward a park where protesters confronted them. a fight broke out and three people were stabbed by klan members. one man used the eagle on top of a flagpole to stab a

a tragic story. this man was in court twice today, once for killing a prince william county police officer and one for killing his wife. court documents say ronald hamilton admitted killing his wife and several officers over the weekend. his wife died. so did officer ashley gwindon. it was her first day on the job. she had her degree from embry-riddle air nautical university and george washington university. in 2015, she was a reservist. >> that is who she was, and service was infused in her very being. >> it's not the first time the

guindon family faced tragedy. their local paper in new hampshire reports her father took his own life after military service in iraq. the chief says 38-year-old david mcgowin and 30-year-old have a road of recovery before them. her sister visited the neighborhood yesterday and thanked the officers for trying to help her sister. >> she was an officer who sacrificed her life for my sister and her nephew. i thank you and god bless your family. >> neighbors have set up a memorial for crystal outside her home. she made the 911 call that brought police to her house. police say her husband killed her. their 11-year-old son was inside the house when all of this happened. he was not hurt. sunshine now climbing into the low 60s and a

i'm angie goff here at the live desk with crazy new video to show you. this right out of detroit. what you're looking at here, the driver of a jeep trying to exit a freeway when he crashed right into that coca-cola truck and you can see everything was caught by the chopper cameras. several police officers involved in the chase which ended like this. yeah, the suspect fleeing by foot. eventually all three of them were caught. the final one found trying to hide underneath a trampoline. they were all arrested. still no word as of now of what led up to this chase.
