williams and washington are accused of severing as a getaway driver and lookout. the man who shot chavez is serving life in prison. a peaceful sunday afternoon came to a screeching halt after a shooting at a bus stop in southeast d.c. it happened at naylor road near alabama avenue. megan mcgrath is at the scene this morning with more on this homicide investigation. >> reporter: angie, it was a brazen shooting happened in broad daylight in the middle of the afternoon. if you look behind me here, you can see the bus stop where it happened. the shattered glass and police tape that is still up around the area. this is right on naylor road here right by the gas station, the bp gas station near the intersection with alabama avenue. now, the shots rang out at 1:30 in the afternoon. into people, a man and a woman, were hit. you can see the

technicians here yesterday afternoon as they scoured the area looking for physical evidence here at this bus stop. both of the rick tvictims taken area hospital, the woman later died. now, no arrests have been made. police however say that they are looking for a green honda odyssey that may have been involved in the shooting. there are possibly two people inside that minivan at the time. they are asking anyone with information to contact investigators. back to you. 6:05. people in western massachusetts will pay their final respects to officer ashley begguindon today. she was killed in the line of duty on her first night on the street as a prince william county police officer. she was born in springfield and her body was flown back there last week. her funeral and burial will take place later came. the fairfax county police department is holding a blood drive in honor of the other two officers shot on the domestic call with

sanctions against north korea for a test missile launch and nuclear test earlier this year. a frightening situation for almost 200 passengers on the united airlines plane. the plane forced to turn back and land in houston last night after hitting a bird. the plane had gist taken off on its way to germany. united says it's working to get the passengers on another flight. right now a series of pacific storms continues to drench california with much needed rain. this week the higher elevations will see significant amounts of snow. over the weekend, the rain caused flooding up and down the state and a woman died when the driver of the car she was in attempted to drive through high water. more than a dozen mudslides were reported as well as a lot of downed trees. in news 4 your health, a new study reveals a little more than about teens who misuse prescription still uhe lapts. the study shows 88% who admitted to misusing stimulants also took

police were called here. and they found the two women stabbed. one found dead, the other taken to the hospital and we're told she is expected to survive her injuries. prince george's county police say they are working to develop a suspect. we don't have any word about identities of women involved or what may have precipitated all of this, but certainly a being shoing scene for residents of this apartment building as they weighing up. we're told this it is a grisly scene in the hallway and it may have stemmed from an incident that went into the apartment or other way around. but crime crescene investigator are here. but again, two women stabbed here in landover. with one woman dead on scene, the other hospitalized expected to survive. derrick ward, news

side headed toward the more monday more monday oitemple. florida morning we're remembering the life will of nancy reagan. she died yesterday at the age of 94. you're looking at live pictures now of the national cathedral. the bishop of the diocese of washington issued a statement mourning nancy reagan's death. the bishop called mrs. reagan, quote, one of the most influential public figures of the 20th century. this morning we're getting a personal look at the reagan marriage and presidency. a former personal aide sat town with darcy spencer and remembered mrs. reagan as a compassionate woman. in i in. >> i'm going to miss her shoulder because it was a big shoulder to lean on. and she was a dear friend to so many. >> he says losing a friend is hard, but comforting to know

the husband she loved so dearly. right now a baby and her 18-year-old mother are missing. the prince george's county police want your help to find them. take a look at your screen. that is the 11 month old on the left side of the screen and her mother on the right side. they were with the grandmother when the grandmother went inside of a store and when she came back out, she says that they were no longer inside the car. police say they do not suspect foul play. it's 6:33. stafford county is not commenting on why two volunteer firefighters trying to save a toddler were put on leave. this story has gotten a lot of discussion on our nbc washington facebook page. we know that one morning an 18 month old girl was having seizures and two firefighters say there were no ambulances available to take her to the emergency room, so they used their fire truck to get her to the ho

2. prices at the pump creeping up around here. drivers are paying 8 cents more for gas than they were a week ago in maryland for example aaa says a gallon of regular unleaded is now $1.77. that's cheaper that what you will pay in the district, though argues gallon avera a gallon averages out to about $1 $ $1.89. fwloo and prices are still quite low, but not the great for some people in our area. that's because a lot of places have a tax on mass transit including gas. the northern virginia transportation commission says it's lost 40% of the money it makes from the gas taxes in the last two years. in response some lawmakers want to make a law saying the gas tax can't go any lower than it was two years ago. the man credited with inv t inventing e-mail has died. ray
