at the bus stop tomorrow, nice and mild. 49 degrees at that time. tomorrow afternoon, 72 when the kids get home from school. that's right. the shorts will be coming out for the kids. for some reason all third through fifth grade, all they want to wear is shorts. this time they can do it. 72 on tuesday. 76 on wednesday. 78 on thursday. that would tie a record. 78 degrees coming up. 69 degrees on friday. and then the weekend. a cold front moves through friday. saturday and sunday are going to be cooler and a little unsettled too. i think we have a chance for rain. right now keeping saturday dry although would not be surprised for a few sprinkles but watching for rain, especially on sunday, and then we lose an hour of sleep as we spring forward. now, we lose an hour of sleep, but the sun goes down on sunday night at 7:14. how about that? that's pretty cool too. monday 68 degrees. another chance for some rain there too. all in all, looking pretty good. i'm just, you know, full of good

surgy. we'll tere this is the xfinity sports desk brought to you by xfinity, your home for the most live sports. >> so let's begin with the fact that nobody was surprised by this, right? >> nobody. we were expecting it since the beginning of the season. here is my show. completely blank because i figured it's the last time we're going to get a chance to talk about him. i'm wondering your reaction when you heard the news. >> okay. remember that game, the last playoff game that he played, his body went one way and his legs went flopping all over the other way. first thing on my mind as i mentioned to you before was joe theismann when l.t. put that hit
6:54 pm
on joe and it was like just g >> don't show it. thanks a lot. >> we don't need to see that again. but anyway it was a career ender for joe. i don't think that's a career ender for -- >> do you think -- >> he'll play again. >> do you think he's going to be successful? we had a poll today, 65% of the folks who responded to our nbc washington poll said they they he'll be successful. >> he's going to have to change his game. he was running a whole lot and they wanted him to be more of a pocket passer and it did not work for him. if he can do that, because he can't run anymore. we already established that. if he can become that pocket passer -- >> i saw him moving faster this year and he has a chip on his shoulder. he worked so hard. he wants redemption. >> when we came here, it was the second coming. we invested all of our emotions. he was going to change the team, change the franchise, change this entire city. >> so there's a lesson, don't mortgage the farm, don't north

gage the >> robert is a competitor and i think he will be a probably more than adequate quarterback. i don't think anybody will ever see the rg3 that came here in that first year. >> he's going to need support. >> that was just remarkable. going to change a lot of different things. >> i have a couple numbers. do you want to see them? up and down career as you talked about. the three years he was on the field, 3,200 yards and setting an nfl rookie rushing record, of course. then coming off that knee injury in 2013, 3-10 as a starter. threw for 16 touchdowns, 12 picks. here is where i thought he would make a comeback, 2014, week two he had an ankle injury. he came back and went 2-7. this year only dressed for the one game and that was the saddest thing for me is to see him not even dressed game after game. he looked like a little puppy on the sideline. >> and you have to give him a lot of credit for this last season in terms of how he
6:56 pm
handled all of that. because w most of all he didn't talk. >> see -- >> i think one of the problems -- robert did contribute to his own problems here with all of that attention that he quite frankly drew to himself. you remember early on i was saying, robert, stop talking. you don't need to say anything. >> i didn't want the lasting image to be him cleaning out his locker though. i don't want that to be the lasting image of him with the redskins. he meant so much to so many people. >> which is why you asked him the question. do you want to say anything? and i texted him a couple times too. but no thank you. >> 80 yards or something like that? that was marvelous, and nobody could catch him. nobody. >> now i'm just going to move on a little bit because the redskins are making a number of moves today. not returning fullback dorell young. he spent 17 seasons with the redskins. i did reach out to him today. we did text. he's going to be shopped around. he does definitely want to

continue playing said if they called him. >> one of the great guys in the community. >> and then pot roast, that was sad news. >> love pot roast. >> finally, some news we have to acknowledge it is the end of the era for peyton manning. he made it official. >> one of a kind. >> in an emotional prepared speech in denver. >> there's something about 18 years, 18 is a good number, and today i retire from pro football. when i look back on my mfl career, i'll know without a doubt i gave everything i had to help my teams walk away with a win. there were other players who were more talented, but there was no one who could outprepare me. and because of that, i have no regrets. >> he thanked everybody he's ever come in contact with today. he's also rooting for rookies to break his record of interceptions. >> because you know the term
