storms, just some showers coming through. and you can check them with the radar on the nbc washington app. right now the radar is showing just some very light sprinkles. they're tracking off to the north and east. these patches of light green. and then east over the eastern shore. these all moving off to the north and east at with 15, 20 miles an hour. so we'll have these with us getting us perhaps a little bit of wet pavement over the next few hours. have umbrella ready. you will need long pants. it will be a cool day throughout the day. highs only reaching around 60 degrees by later this afternoon. there will be heavier rain moving in overnight tonight. the hour by hour forecast coming up. we are following a developing story this morning. three metro transit police officers were involved in a crash on 395 in arlington. this happened last night around

virginia state police say a car stopped on the highway causing the chain reaction crash. the three metro transit police cruisers crashed into one another, all three officers went to the hospital. the driver of the stopped car also went to the hospital. no one was seriously hurt. the driver has been charged. we're still working to find out what caused this fire at a home in district heights. it happened on old silver hill road and kentucky avenue early this morning. prince george's county fire says that they put this fire out around 4:45 this morning. you can see one of the cars in the driveway is also destroyed. we're also working to learn how many people were inside the home when the fire started. let's turn our attention as to decision 2016. marco rubio heads into the tuesday florida primary with a win in the district. he beat john kasich by just 50 votes. rubio gets 10 dat

the facility houses juveniles who are considered aggressive. don't worry, it's just a drill. close to 100 emergency responders are participating in an actual drill at the eisenhower metro station. derrick ward is live there this morning. how is it looking? >> reporter: well, from here you don't really see what is going on, but there is a sense that something is indeed going on. we are here at the eisenhower avenue station. it will be closed today until about #:00 so they can take part in that drill. if you're down on the ground level, you might be able to see some of this emergency equipment here. this is the mock response to a dr drill. the drill is on elevated track between eisenhower avenue and old town. they're doing a simulated derailment with

now to a developing story this morning. a state of crisis in brazil after torrential rainfall flooded several parts of the country. in rio, a bus full of people had to be rescued. at least 20 people have been killed after flooding caused mudslides. at least five people are still missing. wh brazil's president will make emergency funds available for those affected. six clears were skilled in an avalanche near the austrian border. the skiers were climbing to the summit and planning to ski down. search crews say they will continue to look for more bodies

two missing crew members of a tugboat that sank into the hudson river around 5:30 saturday morning. one fellow crew member was killed, 5,000 gallons of fuel spilled into the hudson. emergency teams will be back out this morning to look for the other two crew members who are presumed to be dead. let's take a live look at storm team 4 radar. a lot of green out there. showers starting to work their way in. tom is tracking what you can expect for the monday morning commute and when we can look forward to more sun. a pilot forgets his bag and gun taken. where police had to sweep an airplane and who they found responsible.

pavement now getting wet as we've had a line of very light rain come through over the last hour. it's moving off to the north and east. continuing to track away from the metro area, but pavement will stay wet for another hour or so. if you're heading to the st. patrick's day parade, have an umbrella handy. might get a few sprinkles during the parade, but most of the time it should be dry. parade starts at noon down constitution avenue. overall a good day for the parade.

and a gun inside. this happened at philadelphia international airport. when the pilot went back, the brag and gun were gone. police immediately started sweeping the airport and some planes. >> looking at everyone in the face giving them eye contact, they went from me to the front of the plane. >> it's scary to learn that he would forget. >> video surveillance led investigators led them to a janitor. he was arrested. he never tried to open the bag. iron maiden's plane sustained damage after lose control on the runway. crews in chile were towing the plane to refuel it when a steering pin fell out leaving the plane without any steering. it crashed into the trackor that was towing it. two crew men were hurt. no one was on the plane at the time of the crash. the band says this could delay their tour by one day. two window washers in chicago fearing for their lives

developing this morning, a north korean submarine is missing and u.s. officials believe it sank. the vessel had disappeared. the u.s. and south korea are in the middle of a large military exercise making things tense. health officials say diseases carried by mosquitos are a big threat to worldwide health. the rate at which the diseases are fredding is also alarming. officials believe genetic work done on mosquitos in brazil could have make mosquitos bettered a capitaled for carrying the zika virus. the digest potential threat is the asian tiger mosquito which is capable of spreading more than 25 viruses including zika. it's 9:25. representative donna edwards is leading in a new poll for maryland's open senate seat.

in the poll from "the baltimore sun," edwards leads with 34%. representative chris van hollen trails at 28. the survey is the first in months to give edwards an edge. the polls had been neck and neck. both are running for barbara mikulski's seat. democratic party activists from western maryland named hillary clinton as their choice in a straw poll. that poll was taken as part of the 12th annual western and maryland democratic summit held in frederick this weekend. clinton received a total of 76 of the 100 votes there. it's 6:48. governor mcauliffe is heading over to turkey, qatar, afghanistan and germany. as part of a delegation of governors. the five day trip is scheduled to start on wednesday. it was organized by the pentagon. let's take a look out the window at the capital wheel in national harbor and prince george's county. yoll

a pennsylvania man is dead after a police-involved shooting. a police and another man were also shot. police in chester say that they were tipped off about a possible stolen car and when they got to the scene, a man reportedly started shooting from inside the car. police returned fire, a third suspect was arrested and the officer was shot in the shoulder and is in stable di
