it's wednesday, march 16th, coming up, a clean sweep for hillary clinton, as 24 dathe do gets one step closer and not so for marco rubio. >> america needs a vibrant conservative movement ut one that's built on principals and ideas, not on fear, not on anger, not on playing on people's frustrations. severe weather including historic flooding. for the first time in 40 year, the washington d.c. metro trains are closed. then a hero cop saves a life. ronda rousy's big announcement and much more on a biggie d
4:01 am
good morning everybody and thanks for joining us today. another primary tuesday, another big night for donald trump and an even bigger one for hillary clinton. trump dominated in florida, winning by nearly 20% and after getting crushed in his home state, marco rubio suspended hiscohis campaign. >> it's clear that while we're on the right side, this year we will not be on the right side. while it's not god's plan that i be president in 2016 or ever and while today my campaign is suspended, the fact that i've even come this far is evidence of how special america truly is. >> governor john kasich taking his state of ohio include all the delegates. now trump took north carolina in a close one over ted cruz. kasich follows in third. similar results in illinois, trump w a

victory over cruz with kasich next. it's interesting to note though voting was suspended in parts of the state due to a tornado threat. and trump is also the parent winner in missouri with cruz less than 2,000 votes separate the two. it was a clean sweep for hillary clinton. she dominated in florida, nearly doubling the votes sanders received. and a surprise victory in ohio and sanders predicted a victory in that state. and north carolina won hand udly in north carolina. and the case in illinois was too close to call but clinton is now the parent winner and a similar story in missouri with clinton narrowly edging out sanders by roughly 1500 votes and clinton riv pivoted towards the general election and upped her attacks towards trump. >> we are moving closer to securing the democratic

nomination and winning this election in november. [ applause ] when we hear a candidate for president call for rounding up 12 million immigrants, banning all muslims from entering the united states [ crowd boos] >> when he embraces torture, it doesn't make him strong, it makes him wrong. >> she picked up 353 delegates, increasing her overall lead and there's still 46 delegates remaining from tuesday. mostly from florida and illinois. john kasich picked up 75 delegates, 56 from ohio. and kasich urged pundits to not count him out just yet. >> you better believe it is

together, not pulling us apart. it is about u.s.a. even though i labored in obscurity for so long, people counting me out but we put one foot in front of the other and i want to remind you again tonight that i will not take the low road to the highest office in the land. [ applause ] >> kasich still has a long way to go and is mathematically unable to secure enough delegates. and trump edging closer to the amount needed for the nomnati s nomination. >> most people said i'll never run, he's having a good time. i am having a good time. i'm having a very nice time but i'm working very hard and there is great anger. they're not angry people but they want to see the country properly run. they

4:06 am
not. i'm not saying kasich is going to be on top necessarily but there's still lot of unknowns. donald is romping forward but he may well not have that 1237 delegates. >> how likely do you think that is though? >> don't count it out. and it's going to be wild. the rules are up for grabs, the coalitions where deals get made. it's going to be a very busy time between now and cleveland in july. >> if we do get to a brokered convention, who's the favorite son there? kasich? cruz? >> you got to say the guy who shows up with the most is in the best position to win. but you can see he has less far to go than the others but there are an awful lot of folks in the party who don't want him to be a nominee. >> and well, trump is edging closer. but it was a big night for
4:07 am
>> no doubt. >> boy, she swept those primaries. is she now really looking at a lock for this nomination? >> again i don't want to use that word, not this year. but i would say bernie sanders midwest momentum was stopped last night. and i think it's almost impossible to come up with a reasonable scenario that gives him the nomination, so it's pretty darn close to your lock. >> as we look at exit polling. exit polling in several different states shows a majority of republican voters want a ban on muslims entering the country. does that surprise you? >> you know, yes. i got to tell you. i would not have expected the numbers to be quite so high. these are republican numbers. whether that's going to apply in november when there's a broad general election -- that explains the trump -- >> i was go to say that plays right into trump's hands. >> if you want to know
4:08 am
has done well, just look at that number right there. >> do you think he has a finger on the pulse of what many people think and won't say? >> some people. mostly white voters, mostly older voters, somewhat more conservative voters and there's a lot of frustration and anger and he's got it bottled somehow. >> going forward, so we're getting a bigger look at the field as it's narrowing down, especially on the republican side. are we going to see these candidates roll out these major indorsement we've seen in past elections? >> they will. but the lesson this year is indorsements have hardly meant anything. you can't point to one that made a big difference. here's chris christie, big story for half a day. and how many votes did ben sway? and anyone else, frankly. >> bush still hasn't indorsed anyone? >> and is anyone sitting on the edge of their seats

thank you. >> welcome back, by the way. >> thank you. it's good to be back. now to the historic flooding in the south. the torential rain has ended. and in dewy vill, texas, 1200 people ordered to evacuate after the sabine river over flowed its banks p banks. the health clinic, church and police station all hard hit by the flooding. meanwhile storm chasers captured a tornado in western illinois. no reports of injuries from this sinister looking storm. a total of nine tornados were recorded in the state. and look that funnel cloud. no reports of injuries there. so, let's get a wrap of all of this and what's ahead and we go to the one and only, bill karins. >> wait, he said you were
