maybe around midnight until right around dawn on monday. some of that wet snow. but similar to what happened on saturday, a lot of it is going to be melting on roads, just maybe a very light accumulation on glassy areas. again, that is late tonight and early tomorrow morning. new hour by hour timing on that coming up this half hour. sunshine does return on monday and finally getting back to springlike temperatures as we get into the week ahead. i have all of that coming up. today prince george's county police officers will hold a candlelight vigil to remember 28-year-old officer jacai colson. he tied one week ago today. officer colson was killed during a shoot-out with a suspect who police say wanted to provoke officers into killing him. the vigil will be at the district 3 police state station on barlow road in palmer park. it's also where the shooting happened. it begins at 4:15, but at 4:30

shooting began, there will be a moment of silence. michael ford and his two brothers elijah and malik are charged with planning being carrying out and recording take attack. more drama on the campaign trail. another protester at a donald trump rally gets punched. this time in arizona. two protesters were being escorted from the event when a man started punching and kicking one of them. the man assaulted was not seriously hurt. last night he spoke to nbc news about the ordeal. >> this and that and he's stomping me. incredible scenes. i understand that people support donald trump, but do they support this kind of scene really? >> the protest goes on as the race for the white house heats up. chris pollone has more from the campaign trail.

>> reporter: in tucson, violence marred another donald trump rally. video shows a man kicking and punching a protester who was being led from the arena before local police stepped in. the event was constantly interrupted. >> this disgusting guy puts a ku klux klan hat on. he's a disgusting guy. >> reporter: protesters in scottsdale blocked a road leading to the rally by parking their cars in the middle of the road. the republican frontrunner ignored those protesters taking aim instead at republican insiders. >> you have the establishment, they don't know what they're doing. >> reporter: bernie sanders also campaigning in arizona saturday. >> and attacks against people in a very personal way is not what this country is supposed to be about. >> reporter: john kasich tried to stay above the fray while campaigning in utah. >> i will not take the low road to the highest office in the land. i will not do it.

>> reporter: also campaigning in utah, ted cruz, trump's chief rival. >> donald has been supporting liberal democratic politicians for 40 years. >> reporter: the gloves are off literally and figuratively, but will any of it slow trump's path to the nomination. chris pollone, nbc news, new york. we're learning new details about how officials say katherine hoggle tried to break out of psychiatric hospital. the "washington post" reporting that hoggle has tried to escape at least eight times, but never succeeded. once she did get a hold of a staff member's badge. according to court documents, hoggle admitted to trying to break out in order to see her children, sarah and jacob with last seen with her mother in 2014. at least 13 people are dead

students crashed in northeastern spain today. officials say that another 30 passengers were hurt in that crash. authorities say the bus was carrying more than 50 people when it hit a barrier, rolled across the road and slammed into a fence and landed on its slide. the bus driver is being held at a police station. officials are investigating what caused the crash. two americans among those dead following a suicide attack in istanbul. five people in all died, two have been identified as israeli americans with dual nationalities. the white house has called this a heinous attack. this is the sixth suicide bombing attack in turkey in the last year. so far no one has claimed responsibility. a traffic alert now. there will be quite a few street closures in effect today, all for the scope it out 5 k race and walk. most of them will focus on the pennsylvania avenue area between 12th and 14th streets. they will stretch over to constitution i

north and west and it includes out in the mountains where they got the all that snow. hour by hour forecast for the day ahead, we'll stay cloudy between now and 3:00. now the timing, new timing looks like the rain may not be arriving until later maybe around 5:00, 6:00 and continuing into the evening hours. that is rain initially before we may get some wet snow. and temperatures hovering in the low 40s maybe upper 30s by late this evening. and then cold air gets injected as the coastal low develops coming in from the north. here is the hour by hour timing on that. the area in green is rain. 2:00, and then it creeps closer to washington by 4:00. by 5:00, 6:00, we may get a few sprinkles. steady rain this evening around 8:00, 9:00. but that's when we'll see the cold air starting to get injected here. so the rain changes over to snow mainly on the eastern shore.

eastern suburbs, anne arundel, calvert county, parts of maybe charles and st. mary's, northern neck, might get just a little bit of wet snowflake mixing in with that rain. and then pretty much by 6:00 monday morning just lingering light snow. by the way might get show showers out of the mountains during that whole event. but locally we'll begin to dry out monday morning going all sunny by 10:00 on monday morning. but total amounts of snow on the eastern shore may be 1 to 3 inches on mainly grassy areas, higher amount may be right along the eastern part of the eastern shore near the atlantic coast. but up to a half inch on some grassy areas is possible. mainly just east of washington, parts of southern maryland, northern neck. and a small chance of that at the very post we height get a half inch on grassy areas there. so at the bus so that tomorrow morning, mid-30s and cold with the sun breaking out. mostly sunny by 9:00 a.m. sh
