tuesday's terror attack attack. their now their identities and rolls are unclear. however, the third suspect on the right wearing a light colored hote acolo colorered coat and hat is still on the run. and we are learning more about the brothers involved in tuesday 's attack and just what u.s. counterterrorism authorities knew about them. nbc claudia is live in brussels. what's the latest there? >> reporter: as you can see the manhunt on the terrorists continues here in brussels. we don't know whether the man wearing a hat pictured next to the two attackers at brussels' airport was among the two arrested. he's the 't know if only terrorist unacou

and thai revealed there may have been a second attacker at the metro station here. we don't know if he died or got away too. and we just learned secretary john kerry landed in brussels. he's here to express sympathy of united states in the attack in belgium. and we don't know if he's going to talk about how the authorities have dealt with the threat. because we've learned that the two brothers have been lirnked with terrorism all along. and one was arrested in 2015 and they warned him that he may be a foreign fighter and his brother khaled, he was issued an international arrest warrant in relation to the perishairis

and they acknowledged there were mistakes made. and the prime minister said you don't leave the field when the country is at war and this is exactly what it feels like. >> well, the state department says there is no credible evidence thatdi suggests americs were s targeted in the attacks. so foor there are no reports of americans among the casualties. and one american couple is still missing. justin and stephanie schultz, who live in brussels.us they were dropping off stephanie's mothutother at the airport, she is safe but they have not heard from justin or stephanie since the attack. and terrorists with family ties. >> reporter: the brothers turned suicide bombers this week at brussels airport and subway station are sickeningly nothing new.
