alexandria section of the county. police were called to celtic drive. they found a man stabbed in the leg. no word on on a suspect on or motive here. >> and now alcohol may be a factor in a deadly crash in charles county. maryland state police were called to route 5 roosevelt place on thursday night at 9:00. police say the driver of an suv failed to yield as he was trying to cross lanes southbound on route 5. the motorcycle crashed into the side of the suv. the motorcycle driver was taken to the hospital where he died from his injuries. and a developing story out of alexandria. an evening at the carnival turned scary after one person was stabbed. this was at the opening night of the mall carnival in the city of alexandria. the victim rushed to the hospital, expected to be okay. the suspect is in pole

it appears the two knew each other. as of now the carnival is set to continue today. the latest in the race for the whose white house. washington state, alaska and hawaii all hold their democratic caucuses today. bernie sanders has been focusing heavily on the pacific northwest, where he thinks he can pick up much needed delegates to cut hillary clinton's lead. and the battle on the gop side continues to brew this morning. front-runner donald trump is still denying any connection to the tabloid story that alleges ted cruz has multiple affairs. cruz is accusing trump of planting the story in the national enquirer, claiming the texas senator has had affairs with five women. one of them is a trump spokeswoman and former cruz ally. she said the story is 100% false. meanwhile, cruz is lashing out at trump.

sala abdeslam warned police were attacks were on the way. singer mariah carey canceling performances in the wake of tuesday's attacks. the pentagon said the second in command of isis has been killed. haji imam had a $7 million price tag on his head. special forces landed inside syria on thursday, waited for imam's car, and killed him. along with three others in a firefight. experts think his death will hurt their funding. the pentagon is moving to add to the number of troops to support the ground war against isis. before that can happen, the chairman of the joint chiefs still has to discuss it with president obama. officials have not said how big of an increase they're pushing for.

thousands are expected to hit the tidal basin today to take a look at the blooms. news 4's derrick ward has more on what's going on today. good morning, derrick. >> reporter: good morning. well, you can see that the people are already here. i don't think they're going to wait. a lot of people thought it was a good time to get an early start. a lot of people are indeed here. you already notice the traffic around the tidal basin. this is the main attraction, the blooms. it was a little bit after the prediction

>> police in prince george's county are investigating a burglary near the university of maryland. it happened off campus across the street from the college park metro station. a female student at umd told police she heard noises coming from within the residence. then she saw someone inside the common area. the suspect left. no word if anything was taken. metro's top safety official is out. acting chief safety officer lou brown calling it quits after a year on the job. brown turned in his resignation friday. metro has had a hard time filling that position. the previous chief safety officer was publicly criticized by the metro board is and also resigned. another headache for metro riders. debris fire on the track stopped service on the orange and silver line on on friday. it wasn't a system power line issue like the one that caused last week's shutdown.
