closures in the area. massachusetts avenue, new york avenue and other streets all around the convention center. also we have a closure at mt. vernon metro station, that station is closed. the trains are going to bypass it, so you'll either have to get off before or after to get where you're going. we spoke to a woman walking her dog this morning and she says it's all kind of strange to see. she had to take a different way today. >> definitely working from home today because there is no way i'll get out in the traffic. i've lived here ten years and this is the most intense security i've ever seen in this area. so it's pretty difficult to try to navigate. >> reporter: and if you live in the secure zone and there are a lot of residences, when you go back in, you will have to show i.d. with proof that you live inside before they will let you return to your home. back to you. so take a look at issues as far as metro goes. orange, silver lines

attack like the one in brussels. we're learning some disturbing new details about the bombings in brussels airport and subway. a belgian government official says it appears that the belgian prime minister was a target. images of his office and home were found on one of the bomber's computers. hundreds of people were hurt and more than 30 people died in those attacks. take a look at these new images from inside the brussels airport. there was debris everywhere and in some photos you cannot recognize what it looked like before. the airport could reopen soon. airport technicians and engineers say they will know today whether a partial reopening is possible. they have been working nonstop to get flights back up and running. happening today, the man accused of shooting a 9-year-old boy in northeast d.c. is set to go before a judge. kenneth parker is charged this the 2014 shooting of jayden, the

he was left with a bullet in his brain. after working the case for a year and a half, police finally charactered parker last week. he was already in jail on an unrepresentu unrelated charge. family, friends and neighbors gathered last night to remember a teen killed at a d.c. metro station. 15-year-old davonte washington was shot the in front of his mothers and sisters on saturday at the deanwood station. 17-year-old maurice bellamy was arrested on monday and charged with second degree murder. bellamy and the victim did not know each other. a disturbing situation in prince william county. another body was found in the water there. this time prince william county police say they found a body in powells creek in wood bridge. it was discovered under the bridge on route 1. police are working to identify the body now. earlier this week, a different body was found in a manassas pond. >> 6 after the hour. a local woman who was prean

is now under the microscope by researchers. these ultrasound images show the effects zika had on the fetus. doctors say a 33-year-old woman who was 11 weeks pregnant contracted zika after a trip on mexico and central america in the fall. early ultra sounds did not find any tell tale signs of birth defects, but at 20 weeks, an ultrasound showed that the fetus had severe brain abnormalities. >> what we do know for sure is that if the fetal brain is affected, this appears to be a very bad situation. >> the parents chose to term thalt t terminate the pregnancy. researchers are hoping that this study may answer some questions about the link between zika and birth defects. service workers are off the job at reagan national. th i

j those comments by donald trump are causing a firestorm on and off the campaign trail. this morning the gop frontrunner is trying to correct those comments just hours after the remarks to msnbc's chris matthews on wednesday, trump made an about-face saying abortion providers should be punished if roe vs. wade is overturned. republicans and democrats said the comments were inappropriate. in new poll in advance of the wisconsin primary is about the numbers. ted cruz is in first place right now with 40%, donald trump with 30%, and john kasich with 21%. for democrats, very close race here. bernie sanders has 44% support, and hillary clinton has 43%

soop support in wisconsin. margin of error is about six percentage points. there could be trouble for ds getting in to the d.c. primary. it turns out the local democratic party missed a deadline to notify the boord of elections that sand ders and hillary clinton paid their registration fees and a democratic voter filed a challenge to keep sanders off the ballot. the rules require a hearing on that challenge, but the chairman of the d.c. democratic party says an emergency d.c. council vote may be able to resolve the issue before the primary on june 14th. investigators say a ransom ware attack is what is causing trouble for thousands of patients treated at medstar hospital. it is the latest example in a string of such attacks on hospitals with hackers gaining control and demanding big money to restore computer access. an example, one woman says she was furious when the hospital canceled three days of her husband's radiation

called to the area on good hope road and alabama avenue away 5:00 this morning where they found a man with a gunshot wound. kristen wright is in southeast with more. >> reporter: in the past little while, we've watched police doing their investigation. again, like you said, a man found shot near this mcdonald's on good hope road near nailor. they had their k-9s out. they just left. he watched the dog as it sniffed around the mcdonald's and also at the auto center shop next door. dog spent a lot of time in those bushes with police officers next to them shining their flashlights apkind of just looking for evidence. it appears they found the man shot just right here by the mcdonald's right around 5:00 this morning. police responded to a report of a shooting victim. that's when they found this man. his condition right now is no
