right now at 11:00, warnings and advisories in effect. it's a weather alert night. we'll tell you what you need to know to be prepared. developing right now, a woman shot and killed in loudoun county leaving three children behind. and tonight donald trump is doing something we rarely see him do. breaking off the top at 11:00, it's a weather alert night. you are looking live at union station. storm team 4 has been telling you about the potential wind gusts of 50 to 60 miles an hour, and tonight pepco tells us it's concerned about possible power outages. now we want to show you a live look outside our studos

clearly you can see those raindrops coming down. amelia tracking those rain showers. right now the temperatures that are quickly dropping. and we also want to show you another view, this time from the national cathedral. tomorrow morning whether you're going out to church, to run errands, the windchills are going to fall into the 20s. so for that reason we start tonight's broadcast here in the storm team 4 weather center with amelia segal to get us up to date on the advisories and the warnings for tonight. >> what i'm hearing on facebook and twitter and reports at airports, the gusts right now are anywhere from 50 to 60 miles an hour. here's the latest on storm team 4 radar. very high winds as a line of rain is moving through the area with an arctic front. you can see very heavy rain as bell by the yellows and oranges here. dulles reported a gust of 66 miles an hour at 10:25, sustained winds at fw51 miles a hour. to put that

the derecho moved through dulles recorded 71 miles an hour. we're getting reports of debris on roads and there is frederick power outages in just about every county throughout the area. this line is racing toward the east at 50 miles an hour, it's out of here by midnight. the worst of the winds right now, but even as that line moves out we'll still see extremely high winds, high enough that just about everybody under a high wind warning that now includes the d.c. metro area that's going to run until noon tomorrow. the other area, southern maryland, under a less serious wind advisory. regardless, gusts up to 60 miles an hour tonight on into tomorrow morning still possible. we'll be tracking damage and power outages and you do want to use caution if you drive a high-profile vehicle. look at the gusts right now, near 60 miles an hour at reagan national back in martinsburg. we'll track strong gusts tonight into early tomorrow morning, but again we're seeing the strongest winds right now in addition to that, freear

from leesburg with reaction from neighbors. megan? >> reporter: erica, i can tell you neighbors here are devastated. they say they can't believe that 34-year-old christina fisher is gone. she was a loving mother of three and a loyal friend. we spoke with one neighbor who says she was aware of fisher's history with domestic violence and she feared this day could come. this is not the scene neighbors who live in this community expected to see. >> i was just coming home from the store. >> reporter: police cars and homicide detectives surrounding this home on the 300 block. >> we received a call at 6:15 p.m. for an altercation at a residence. >> reporter: leesburg police say the call came from a 15-year-old girl saying her mother, 34-year-old christina fisher, was shot multiple times in an upstairs room. police say she was airlifted to a hospital

investigators say fisher's ex-boyfriend and the father of some of her children pulled the trigger. he was arrested hours later. >> he's not happy that the relationship was over i guess basically. came up, he had parked his vehicle right down here off the street, left it running. ran inside, i guess they exchanged some records. >> a 34-year-old female suffering from two gunshot wounds to the upper torso. multiple gunshot wounds, i'm sorry, to the upper torso area. she was alive when officers got here. >> reporter: neighbors who knew fisher say she moved to this neighborhood to escape a troubled past with domestic violence, which is why many say it's even harder to accept the way she died. >> she moved here to get away from everything and kind of start over. >> reporter: now, as you can see behind me here, police and crime scene units are still on scene. we're told they're remain out here the next several hours as they continue to collect evidence here. again, there is a suspect in

christina fisher. police at this point have not released his name. back to you. >> all right, thank you so much. police in arlington investigating their first murder of the year, a teenager charged with murdering a family member. the victim's name is dennis adams. neighbors tell news4 that his son stabbed him to death. police are not releasing the 17-year-old's identity. the stabbing happened last night near 3rd street. the teen is expected in court on monday. new at 11:00, donald trump having second thoughts about retweeting an unflattering photo of ted cruz's wife, heidi. the republican presidential candidate told "the new york times" he regrets sending out the photo. at the time trump accused cruz of supporting a salacious ad featuring meni

epidemic. >> they are destroying our communities, they are destroying families, and it has to stop. >> the parents who live in the violent neighborhood say police are already there and the violence doesn't seem to be going away. new tonight, a man in palm beach, florida, happy to be back on dry land after being stranded at sea with no food, no water. he was living on asailboat off riviera beach and the sheriff's office says the man has a physical disability. the boat's owner was supposed to bring him food and water, but never did. he spent days without supplies. the man is now getting the medical attention that he needs. and here is the latest wind gusts across the area. you can see washington at 30 miles an hour, but right when we went on air, reagan did record that wind gust of 59 miles an hour. our temperature has dropped over 10 degrees in one hour, and i am e

on facebook and twitter in just about every town across the area. here's what we can expect overnight tonight on into the morning hours tomorrow. we are going to be seeing some damage. we're already hearing reports of damaged transformers blowing across the area. if you haven't secured any objects you have outdoors, trash cans, lawn furniture, that kind of thing, and anticipate power outages. make sure you have a charge on your cell phone. temperatures already starting to fall. we were at 61 an hour ago and are now down to 49. petersburg coming in at 41. tomorrow morning we'll be greeted with temperatures in the 30s and windchills in the 20s. this all thanks to an arctic front moving through the area. it's producing this very heavy line of rain. you can see the yellows and oranges here bringing very heavy rain to the district. parts of prince george's, charles county right now. this continues to push off toward the east. it's out of here by midnight. the strongest wind gusts are going to be with this line but even as it clears the

wind gusts. 50, maybe even 60 miles an hour through the morning hours tomorrow. that's why right now through tomorrow morning we are under a storm team 4 weather alert. of course tom will be in tomorrow morning updating the forecast. it's going to feel like december throughout the day tomorrow. some rain later in the day on monday draws in more cold air on tuesday. tomorrow the weather having a moderate to high impact on your day. very windy, very cold, make sure to bundle up. this is what it will feel like tomorrow morning at 6:00 a.m. about 28 in the district, 22 in gaithersburg and 25 in manassas. as we move on into the mid-morning hours, we're still tracking windchill temperatures in the 20s across the area as we move into the lunchtime hours, windchills are in the 30s. here's your hourly planner. one good thing about tomorrow is at least we'll have plenty of sunshine. a high of 52, we'll hit that at 4:00 in the afternoon. 7:00 the temperature around 70 degrees. breezy to blustery tomorrow afternoon. the strongest winds right now

because of those wind conditions that amelia has been talking about all evening, we've got reports of scattered power outages. 19,000 of them in northern virginia. of those, 10,000 are in fairfax county. 629 are in arlington. pepco reporting 2,000 power outages in montgomery county. in prince george's county, we are hearing that a tree and utility lines fell on a car with one person -- actually now we're hearing two people were trapped and were rescued, though, from that entrapment. a tree and utility lines falling on a car in montgomery county and tree and wires down on franklin street blocking the road. so again, these wind gusts are no joke. amelia was saying earlier, if you can imagine what is 50, 60-mile-an-hour wind gusts feel like? it's the speed limit down the highway, that's how strong it is out there tonight, so please be extra careful. coming up
