quantico to the beltway, it will take you 18 minutes to get from quantico to the beltway. i'll be back in ten minutes. developing right now, a scary photo from a very serious crash. take a look. several children were hurt in this pileup on i-270. >> we first brought you this story as breaking news last night. five cars were involved in this crash. in total a dozen people were hurt. eight were taken to the hospital and they should all be okay. the crash happened on north boud bound 270 in clarksburg. it's still reopened. the medical examiner will conduct autopsies for the two amtrak workers killed in this week's train crash. amtrak train 89 was traveling from new york city to savannah. it hit a backhoe killing the backhoe operator and a supervisor. meanwhile investigators are trying to figure out why the equipment was on the track. the data

footage will be brought to washington so the ntsb can review the material. amtrak says it is running on a normal monday schedule right now, but there could be some delays following the crash yesterday. there was a lot of contusion among passengers at union station. we spoke with one commuter who said her train left a couple hours late. other commuters said workers in the station were not helpful and rude. at the time of 9 the crash, accept crew members and 341 passengers were on board. >> i banged by knee and now there is a bruise and a knot on it. >> 35 passengers on the train were hurt, although none seriously. coming up, derrick ward will be live at union station to let us know whether trains are running on time this morning. visitation services will be held in hampton, virginia today for a fallen state police trooper. you may remember trooper chad dermyer died in the

last thursday. state police say deer mire approached a man during a training exercise at a bus saying in richmond and that is when the man shot him multiple times. police later shot and killed the suspect. a former social media ceo accused of murder is closer to finding out his sentence. hearing starts today for min wynn. he led no contest. prosecutors say wynn broke into denise and cory's home and shot cory because he was jealous. a no contest plea has the same consequences as a guilty plea without admitting any wrong doing. a bill could be introduced as early as today that could have a big impact on sex abuse and sexual offense trials in maryland. the bill would allow a defendant's previous sex conviction or charges to be used during trial. the measure could have a hard time getting passedbe

statehouse. today we'll get a better picture of what the future of rfk stadium could look like. events d.c. is unveiling several concept plans for the 190 acre armory campus which is in southeast washington. so far district officials have only suggested that the stadium have what they call recreational facilities and anchor facilities. >> i want to see a multiuse site. so i want to able to continue the mission that at least requires to have 130rhave sport entertainment. we can accommodate an nfl stadium, we will be able to accommodate soccer feemds for the adjacent neighborhoods. >> some community members are not happy one of those anchor facilities could be a new stadium for the redskins saying they want more green space, not a place to play football. 5:06. to decision 2016. tomorrow voters in wisconsin weigh in on the race and

amtrak says it's returning to normal monday morning service following this weekend's deadly train crash. two workers died when a train hit a backhoe near philadelphia yesterday morning. >> there could be big delays this morning for xhcommuters th rely on that northeast corridor as workers attempt to repair the tracks. we want to get straight out to derrick ward live at union station with what all of this means. >> reporter: from what we can see this morning, trains are indeed running on time after the accident yesterday caused confusion and delays here at union station and all along the

restore service to normal by this morning and it appears that that has indeed happened. it was 8:00 a.m. yesterday morning when a southbound train running between new york and savannah struck a piece of construction equipment, a backhoe, outside philadelphia. 15 miles outside philadelphia in che chester, p.a. 30 passengers were taken to hospitals with injuries and two workers were killed. things are going as planned and the investigation is as well. as a matter of fact, it's happening not too far from here at l'enfant plaza, headquarters of the national transportation safety board. >> as of now, we have recovered the event data recorder. the forward facing video. and the inward facing video from the locomotive to send to our laboratory in washington, d.c. >> reporter: and we understand that the two people killed were both amtrak employees. one apparently was the operator of the backhoe that was struck, thhe

live at union station, derrick ward, news 4. take wasn't the only deadly amtrak crash this weekend. one person is dead after a crash in northern illinois. take a look at what is left of this car. the driver went around the crossing gates and was hit by the drive. the driver died. none of the passengers on board the train were hurt. the train washington traveling from dhchicago to california. happening right now, evacuations at newark airport because of a fire. we're told the fire broke out around 1:00 this morning in a boiler room in one of the terminals about 200 people had to be moved out of the terminal. but then the fire started back up again. there was a lot of smoke. terminal still had to be evacuated as of just a little while ago. that second fire when it rekindled was brought under control. but still evacuations there. we

street in alexandria saturday night. police say an officer hit jeffrey aguilar when aguilar stepped out into the street. we're told the officer had a green light and the officer's dash cam actually recorded the crash. police have not identified the officer, but say that that officer has been with the department for two years. tonight we are going to have an ncaa men's basketball championship game. villanova and north carolina have made to the final game. villanova took their spot in a record setting 44 point win over oklahoma. sorry, chuck. and the tar heels beat out syracuse to the can it is may of many people in this room. now the only question is whether it will be the tar heels or the wildcats to come out on top. >> a lot of people picking their favorites. should be a good game. if you're position buildi t family pet, the

good inner loop and outer loop for us this morning. taking a look at 270, slow as you're headed southbound just for a couple of miles. pretty normal for a monday morning. going to take you about 30 minutes to get all the way down to the spur. northbound are you nice and clear. 66 and 95 overall don't see any major issues there. we'll take a live look at 270 coming up. a victim and a suspect in a stabbing are both recovering this morning. arlington police say one stabbed the other along four mile run bike path late saturday night. police say the people were drinking together and started fighting. both needed medical treatment. they were taken to separate hospitals. investigators are frytrying figure out why an suv slammed into the side of a church in southeast washington. no one was hurt in the vehicle or inside the church, but you can clearly see the damage done. the suv was towed away from the true gospel tabernacle

church along wheeler road. this happened yesterday afternoon. no word on whether the driver will face any charges. you're an officer? >> no, no, i'm great. i'm great. >> that is former baltimore ravens and san francisco 49ers quarterback troy smith being arrested for operating a vehicle while intoxicated. police say the 31-year-old was pulled over in ohio over the weekend for missing his front license plate and swerving between lanes. officers say smith failed a sobriety test and also had a marijuana cigar in the car. smith spent four seasons in the nfl before being released in 2013. the fda is being sued over its recent approval of genetically engineered salmon. a dozen groups have filed suit if an effort to block the move. they're worried the salmon will be able to escape and breed with wild fish.
