massachusetts avenue. melissa mollett has been monitoring the traffic impact, but let's begin with megan mcgraph live on the scene. >> reporter: well, a pedestrian involved it all of this, that person a male pronounced dead on the scene. but the driver of the striking vehicle according to police did stay, they were on the scene. that driver was on the crescene when police officers arrived. you can see everything has reopened. massachusetts avenue both the access roads and the tunnels back to normal this morning. that happened right after the car involved was towed. take a look at the video, this happened within the last half hour. the police completed their investigation and the tow truck came and took that car from the scene. and so everything was able to get back to normal in time for rush hour this morning. this happened between 1:30 and 2:00. the car was traveling on one of the access roads headed east.
