massachusetts avenue. melissa mollett has been monitoring the traffic impact, but let's begin with megan mcgraph live on the scene. >> reporter: well, a pedestrian involved it all of this, that person a male pronounced dead on the scene. but the driver of the striking vehicle according to police did stay, they were on the scene. that driver was on the crescene when police officers arrived. you can see everything has reopened. massachusetts avenue both the access roads and the tunnels back to normal this morning. that happened right after the car involved was towed. take a look at the video, this happened within the last half hour. the police completed their investigation and the tow truck came and took that car from the scene. and so everything was able to get back to normal in time for rush hour this morning. this happened between 1:30 and 2:00. the car was traveling on one of the access roads headed east.

man inside a metro station will not face charges. prosecutors dropped the assault charges against six will so that high school students. police say in january one of the teens sucker punched a rider and when that rider fought back, the others attacked. d.c.'s attorney general and metro are not commenting on this decision. today is the deadline for a dozen prince george's county strip clubs violating zoning laws to shut down. but as our county bureau chief tracee wilkins tells us, some owners are fighting back. >> reporter: today is the day, at 5:00 p.m., 12 strip clubs in prince george's county will no longer be able to operate as a strip club. they have been given notices like this one from the department of permits inspections and enforcement saying that it is illegal for them to operate as an adult entertainment business where they are currently located. this after a year long battle in court that decided buildings like this one can no longer be right across the street from homes. they now need to be located

warehouses or light industrial districts. coming up, how the business owner peoples are going. tracee wilkins, news 4. 6:35 right now. we want to try to go back to our story about the d.c. circulator buses. kristin wright is live for us gasoline thousand in northwest washington to try to help us break down some of the are information in this new report. kristin, what you can tell us sf. >> reporter: let me just say that the list of d.c. circulator safety problems uncovered by the audit is just so long, i can't possibly list them all. our news partner wtop revealed will it new information in their exclusive reporting. the audit was done in august. it found at least one safety problem on 95% of circulator buses. the problems included issues with safety

controls, tire tread, brakes and even turn signals. now, this audit says tease buses should have been pulled from service. the audit also found that ddot and metro failed to oversee contractor first transit, it operates the circulator. first transit has agreed to fix the problems. now, in a statement to wtop, ddot says they are actively monitoring the circulators' performance and that they sought the audit to ensure quality service. the bus drivers' union says they have been concerned about maintenance issues for some time and that they have been demanding the results of this audit for some time. they are expected to testify at a d.c. council hearing this morning. back to you. it's now 6:36. a d.c. driver tells us he received nearly $1500 in fines from just one speed camera and now the camera has disappeared. the camera was located along the 600

police say it was put there because of excessive speeding in that areas but it's in an area where the speed changes from 25 to 50 miles per hour. the driver of the ticketed car says he was fined nearly every day for two weeks. >> i don't know what to say. i got 13 speeding tickets from a camera that is not even here. >> d.c. police have not told us why the camera vanished, but some speed cameras do rotate to new locations. police have also not explained why the speed limit changes frequently or abruptly in that area. good news we're not used to hearing. prices at the post office are actually going down. what is behind the price cuts. also ahead, a high speed clays that h chase that has a lot of people talking and how the people in the car celebrated before being

we're following a developing story in the district. massachusetts avenue is open to return hour traffic again following a deadly pedestrian accident there this morning. >> this

the 1300 and 1400 blocks on massachusetts avenue. megan mcgrath has been on the scene all morning for us. what's the latest? >> reporter: well, police had hoped to reopen things in time for the rush hour and they indeed were able to do that. if you look behind me, you can see that traffic is now flowing as normal on massachusetts avenue right in the area of thomas circle. however, that was not the case early this morning. we had a deadly pedestrian accident that shut everything down for several hours. take a look, this is the striking vehicle that was involved. it was between 1:30 and 2:00 in the morning, that car was up on the access road that parallels the tunnel that goes beneath thomas circle. that car struck a pedestrian, the pedestrian was killed. the driver, though, did stay on the scene. no word on any charges. with more on traffic in the area, we go over to melissa. so right now we have two issues we're dealing with. first of all, 270 brand new crash southbound at father
