fm when you hop in your car for the latest on any travel troubles. developing this morning, shots fired as laurel police respond to reports of a burglary. the shooting happened inside the indus international market on fourth street. molette green is live on the scene with what led up to the shooting. >> reporter: good morning. i can tell you that is where all of it went down, that building behind me where the red letters there. it looks like officers are getting close to breaking down and wrapping up here at the scene as some of the crime tape is being taken down. we can tell you that one teen suspect, a 15-year-old, is in custody right now. the other suspect, a 20-year-old man at the hospital. police got the 911 call shortly after 11:00 last night when a burglar alarm sounded from inside this international food market. when they got here, they arrested t

trying to get away on foot. here's what we know so far about the man police shot inside the store. >> officers then continued into the building, that's when they encountered a second suspect. police tell me that that suspect has been shot, this is a police-involved shooting. suspect has been transported to medstar. this is the first police-involved shooting that we've had in laurel this year. >> we're told only the suspect was shot once by police, no other shots fired. and i asked if the suspects were armed and that part of the investigation still ongoing. the suspect in medstar in stable condition, the officer involved in this shooting is a veteran of the force, 17 years on the job. that is the latest now from the scene here in laurel. back to you. >> thank you molette. also developing this morning, the anne arundel county sheriff has been arrested.

ground work for the purple line gets under way this morning. crews will be busy to replace an existing gas line. you may notice closures around woodmont avenue between elm and bethesda. the work will help make way for the new south entrance which will connect metro riders to the purple line. actual construction of the purple line is expected to start later this year. developing this morning, a columbus, ohio man behind bars after his arrest outside this massive apartment tire. police say he barricaded himself inside before shooting a s.w.a.t. officer. police were trying to serve him a warrant for arson. after that shooting, a fire started but officials have not said what caused it. the s.w.a.t. officer is in critical condition now. senator chuck schumer has introduced a bill that would offer a reward for social media tips that stop a are terror attack. schumer says social media is isis' recruiting weapon ear in the u.s. the bill calls for a minimum $25,000
