atlanta braves hector oliveira was arrested. police were called about a dispute between a man and a woman. the victim had bruises and was taken to the hospital. charges are now pending. police say he and the victim do know each other. the braves, though, are in the middle of a four-game series against the nationals. they play tonight at 7:00. the workers are on strike demanding better treatment on the job. kristin wright is live in falls church. she was there when it began this morning. kristin, what's happening now? >> reporter: it's been about five hours now, and these workers promise they're going to stay, really, for as long as it takes. the workers on strike, they work on land line services, internet and tv, and that is what could potentially be impacted.

for a cup of coffee just because you're a woman. so why does congress think it's ok that women get paid 20% less than a man for doing the same job? i'll fight for pay equity, to protect planned parenthood, choice for women, and expand paid and family leave. now some politicians will belittle this as a women's agenda. more proof that we just need more women in congress. i'm kathleen mathews and i approve this message.

about some completely different candidates for president. and ellen degeneres won. she came in first about the poll which celebrity people would vote for to be the commander in chief. here's what ellen said about the idea. well. we're all in the same boat. and we're all in the same boat with sunshine. a good day to be on a boat, actually. our daytime highs in the mid to upper 60s. yesterday we topped out at 68 but that was at 1:13 in the morning and then we continued to drop off from there. it was a little breezy yesterday. it's going to be much nicer today. temperatures rise tling through 50s, just gorgeous conditions out there. tonight going to be a little chilly as we fall into the 30s and 40s around d.c. we'll take a few degrees up tomorrow. low 60s for tomorrow but plenty of sun thanks to high pressure. we'll keep that sunshine going. cherry blossom festival looking good. a gorgeous end to the week, a gorgeous weekend. maybe a slight chance of sprinkles monday night. that's news4 midday. thanks for being with us this morning. we're back on the air this afternoon first at 4. you can get your news and weather updates any time with the nbc
