authorities say it appears some were killed as they slept, including a mother in bed with her four day old baby nearby. none of the deaths appeared to be self-inflicted. a businessman is offering a $25,000 reward for an arrest and conviction in this case. right now fairfax county fire chief responding to firefighter and paramedics. she disappeared in shenandoah national park and her death ruled a suicide. fire chief richard bowers said he would not tolerate bullying and it reads i assure you that my department cannot and will not tolerate bullying of any kind at this time. we are respecting the privacy of the family and the chief goes on to say they will take any appropriate action after a

a popular waterway got a much needed spring cleaning in honor of earth day. more than 2400 local volunteers signed up to remove trash from the river. the army corps of engineers was helping out and they used a special boat to pick up the floating debris from 30 sites that were targeted in d.c. and maryland. >> right now we are very much interested in doing our best to clean up the environment to improve the ecosystem and get back to the stream restoration. one of the most urbanized rivers. >> they cleaned the shores along the river. i want to show

that was a shooting that killed fellow prince george's county firefighter. >> those are army humvees falling from the sky. this happened in germany after an airborne exercise went wrong earlier this week. somebody posted the video online and it soon went viral and it shows three humvees breaking free of their parachutes and crashing to the ground. nobody was hurt. they are now investigating. you can open the app and search humvees. it features many of the things you see at street festivals. it's the theme of the national cannibis festival that makes it

temperatures in the low 70s and 70 degrees in washington and 56 in gaithersburg. in the district, the temperature around 47. the most rural areas, temperatures could fall into the mid 30s. back around winchester. that could be isolated for most of us tonight. i'm not seeing a major concern. by noon, the temperature around 60 and plenty of sunshine. we will hit the high of 71 and still clear skies and temperatures i tnhe mid 60s. if you are heading to the nationals game, it will be nice if you are in the sun. you want the sun classes and getting the grass cut, temperatures are looking good. dry weather in the forecast. here's the isolated chances of showers later in the day on monday. at

temperatures a good 15 degrees above normal. on tuesday a high of 84 and a better chance that the area is seeing rain as a cold front moves through. we can't rule out a shower in the morning, but the best chance of rain is in the afternoon and the evening. we will see the weather through the morning hours and that's a low impact on the morning. we should start to track showers and thunderstorms. severe weather not in the forecast, but we can't rule out a stronger thunderstorm later in the day. on wednesday, cool, but a high of 67 with a mix of clouds and sun. more shower and thunderstorm chances on thursday and rain around on friday. highs in the low 70s. that's not just saturday, but sunday as well. highs in the low 70s.
