this is just a couple days after the north successfully test fired a ballistic missile from a submarine. south korea saying they can't confirm that, but we're hearing from the president of south korea who warns of stronger sanctions if the north indeed goes through with a fifth nuclear test. a suspect is being questioned in a homicide in fairfax county. a man was found dead inside an apartment in the mount vernon area yesterday afternoon. the woman who called police is being questioned. a neighbor did not want to reveal her identity out of fear of retaliation. >> did you ever hear anything suspicious next door, any yelling? >> nothing out of the ordinary. an argument once in a while, but nothing out of the ordinary. >> fairfax county police say there is no threat to the public. no charges have been filed and the victim's name has not been released yet. he's accused of killing his wife and a prince william county officer. take ronald hamilton has to answer

prosecutors say hamilton killed his wife and shot three officers at his home in woodbridge in february. ashley guindon was killed on her first day on the job. attorneys for both sides will go over evidence at a hearing this morning. court records indicate that hamilton confessed to the shootings. this morning montgomery county council members will urge the county executive to suspend official travel to mississippi and north carolina. both states have enacted laws that deny services to people in the lgbt community. today the council is supposed to vote on condemning the new laws. several states and cities have already banned travel to those states. >> inside metro, a shakeup is taking place. adam tuss obtained internal memos that detail staffing changes in several departments including the rail control center. one memo shows that the managing director of rail transportation is on extended leave. they also outline a reorganization within other departments. the memos are from

before this weekend's smoke incident on the red line. and metro now says that power cables were not to blame for that incident on metro. it is now focused on a metal piece of a rail car that may have dislodged and touched the electrical third rail creating smoke in the tunnel between friendship heights and tenleytown. one rider describes his experience. >> turned around to see flashing lights, flames reflections off the tunnel walls. and a loud noise and smoke. >> the train was eventually reversed into the tenleytown station. metro did not say what was going on for about 20 to 30 minutes. metro is still investigating the cause of the incident. no one was hurt. the fight over the redskins name could make it all the way to the supreme court. a lawyer for the team is asking the court to review its

in the other case, a band with the name some find offensive was denied trademark rights. the skins' attorney says that case could effectively end the discussion before the team can go to court. native miles per hours say the word redskins is a racial slur and the trademark office canceled the trademark protection because of it. the supreme court still has to decide whether to hear either case. to the ice now. we're waiting to find out when the caps will play the penguins. and of course you can cheer them on today and every day. the caps are opening up their practice to the public, doors in arlington open at 10:30. a great way to watch the team without paying the high ticket prices. go caps. and even these we don't know when the games will begin, you can buy a ticket to the second round right now. the caps are selling tickets to all four home games, although they're only guaranteed to play the first two.

a man who accused a former house speaker of sexually abusing him is now suing for almost $2 million. dennis hastert will be sentenced tomorrow for lying about alleged hush money to keep the victim quiet. the lawsuit claims hastert sexually abused the man in a hotel room during a wrestling camp when he was 14 years old. p victim's attorney says her client is a private person who never sought publicity. >> i can't tell you that he's glad it came to light, you know, what happened happened. and so he's dealing with those circumstances. >> the lawsuit seeks $1.8 million which the victim says is the remainder of an oral agreement made by hastert to pay $3.5 million. hastert will head to federal court tomorrow where prosecutors will recommend six months in prison. 4:49. the owner of a gun store in arlington is suing 64 people including elected officials. nova armory opened last month. a lawsuit claims the individuals conspired to destroy the brings and even mailed death threats

a teenage employee. the owner's attorney says since the store opened, certain individuals have followed customers who were leaving the store and were caught taking pictures of their license plates. the suit asks for $2.1 million in lost revenue and damages. today maryland's u.s. attorney will visit a prison in allegheny county. jay rosen steen and three other mens of the u.s. attorney's office will meet with 30 inmates at federal correctional institution cumberland who will be prepared to be released. the u.s. attorney's office says it wants to help those in-hates overcome challenges of future employment and housing while making sure they have critical documents including a driver's license and social security card. tomorrow marks one year since the unrest in baltimore after the death of freddie gray. since then, the city has hired a new police commissioner, he's addressed many of the training and other problems that came to light during the riots. i sat down with commissioner kevin davis recently and his re
