and conddonna edwards were not happy. she pointed out that the maryland bosses were not for her, and this is the first time in a long time that there will be an all male congregation, delegation to come into capitol hill. but it was a hard-fought win and we will see where chris van hollen goes from here. probably into the senate because the republicans don't have that strong a challenger. >> a lot of talk was the after the election and what donna edwards had to say. and basically she's saying i'm putting the democratic party on notice. you're going to have a ticket here of democratic legislators that are all men unless the republican nominee for the u.s. senate wins that race. and she also talked about race. she really threw a molotov cocktail into the scene and she said, listen, you cannot come to churches singing the first two lines of lift every voice and sing. so she threw in

obviously she was not very happy. if you look at the numbers, chris van hollen -- she won -- you get to montgomery county, van hollen wins by 90,000 votes. yes, that is the region that she represents and she took baltimore city by about 17,000. but him taking i think montgomery county by 90,000 votes, we expected him to win the eastern shore which he did, but i think that made the difference in terms of if you look at the breakdown of numbers there. >> how was turnout? >> turnout was pretty high. i think they had like 1.6 million. >> i think the highest they have ever had. 46%. >> it usually is high in presidential races. but donna edwards may have given ammunition to the republican opponent because the republican opponent is a w

so van hollen said okay, we'll give you a buyout. and she decided that that was just selling out the store and she never gave up on it. but the thinking is that's how you get things done and you were just too critical of it. >> and the whole women's thing, hillary clinton got in trouble with this with madeleine albright and gloria steinem early on. i'm sorry, as a woman, i pay taxes, i live in my community, i drive these roads. i want the person that i think is going to get the job done and have some power, you know. i'm hot going to vote strictly on gender. that doesn't come into it for me and that's just me. is it a lot to expect women to vote for women and for minorities to vote for minorities? i find it almost offensive for someone to say to me as a woman i have to vote for another woman. >> i think most voters agree. >> and i think you

they hit the name they're most familiar with. you go, oh, wow, there are 16 or whatever and i'll go for the guy i'm most familiar with. >> i did do that when i'm voting to judges. >> and i'm i'll say that it's obvious that anthony brown ran a much different race. he got caught in the vortex of larry hogan the last time. hogan tapped into the discontent that trump and bernie sanders tapped into and nobody saw it coming downs pike. the democrats were overconfident and that was his prop. but now it's a different day. >> how will he run now in the general election. he won the primary for governor and then got to the general election against hogan and lost. >> he's a shoe-in. >> but we said that in the
